The Limiting Beliefs Your Parents Gave You 15.08.2026 24dk🔥 Join my coaching community:https://www.skool.com/mindset-to-action-skool-3549/aboutYour parents influence far more than your childhood. They help shape your beliefs, your self-image, your confidence, what you believe you deserve, and even how you see yourself decades later. In this episode, I share one of the most important breakthroughs of my life.I grew up without a father. He was a severe alcoholic, and for most of my life I believed he had never really loved me. I thought I was indifferent about it—but underneath that story was still an emotional charge that had affected how I felt about myself.Years later, after becoming a father myself, I decided I didn't want to carry that baggage forward.I sat down and did the internal work. What I discovered completely changed how I saw my father—and, unexpectedly, how I saw myself. A memory I had interpreted as evidence that he didn't care became evidence of effort, consideration and love that I had simply been unable to see before.I also realized something even bigger:I hadn't grown up without a father.I had received what I needed through many different men—friends' fathers, teachers, mentors, my mother's partners and others who taught me, challenged me, encouraged me and showed up at different points in my life. That's the deeper point of this episode.Sometimes the pain isn't only what happened. It's the meaning we've attached to what happened. And when that meaning becomes a belief, it can quietly shape our confidence, relationships, behaviour and identity for years. This is the kind of work we do inside my community: identifying the beliefs and perceptions beneath the surface, challenging them, and doing the deeper work required to become freer, more confident and more able to move forward. If you're serious about growth and ready to do the work, come join us. -
The Principles That Helped Me Build My Life From the Inside Out 10.08.2026 1sa 9dk🔥 Join Confidence & Mindset Coaching:https://www.skool.com/mindset-to-action-skool-3549/aboutI didn’t set out to become a mindset coach.I spent years trying to understand myself, overcome my own limitations, and figure out why certain experiences affected me so deeply.Growing up without much money, being bullied, struggling with my self-image, heartbreak, career frustration, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, fatherhood, mindfulness, psychology and eventually universal principles—all of it changed the way I see myself and life. This episode is the story of how I rebuilt myself—and the ideas I discovered along the way that changed how I understand pain, growth, confidence, relationships, grief and purpose. As a kid, I wanted approval so badly that I tolerated being bullied. But when I finally stopped trying to fit in, the dynamic changed.I had also decided I wasn’t smart after struggling in school. Then one comment from another student changed how I saw myself. I accepted a different belief, started working harder, and completely changed my academic performance. That taught me something powerful:The way we see ourselves changes the way we behave. In this episode, I explore:How one belief can influence years of behaviourWhy social influence can limit or expand youHow heartbreak led me to mindfulnessHow changing my self-image changed what I believed I could doWhat Brazilian jiu-jitsu taught me about focusWhat I discovered about grief after injuries forced me to quitWhy I started asking, “How is this on the way rather than in the way?”How self-coaching finally helped me take actionOne of the biggest turning points came when I had to quit Brazilian jiu-jitsu after seven years.Instead of only asking what I had lost, I asked what I actually loved about it: learning, strategy, coaching, challenge and connection.Once I understood that, I could look for those qualities somewhere else. That search eventually led me deeper into business, psychology and coaching.Later, I applied the same thinking to a career I had begun resenting.I asked:How could this actually be on the way?Suddenly I saw that I wasn’t simply stuck inside a job. I was inside a successful business, surrounded by people and systems I could learn from.Nothing outside changed. My perception did.Eventually I had to confront two more beliefs:I’m not qualified to coach.Nobody will pay me.When I finally questioned those beliefs, I saw how much they had been controlling my behaviour. I started taking action and began coaching.Toward the end, the conversation goes deeper into spiritual perspectives that have influenced me—including reincarnation, challenge and support, transformation, and the possibility that painful experiences can contribute to our growth. You don’t have to believe those ideas. But they raise an interesting question:What changes when we stop seeing an experience only through the pain it caused—and become willing to look for what else may have come from it?If you’ve ever felt trapped by your past, an old belief, a loss, or the feeling that you should be capable of more, I think you’ll find something here worth considering.#Mindset #PersonalGrowth #LimitingBeliefs #Confidence #SelfImage #MindsetCoaching -
The 3 Business Principles That Changed How I Think About Action 08.08.2026 13dk🔥 Join Wisdom & Confidence for live mindset coaching:https://www.skool.com/mindset-to-action-skool-3549/aboutThe best business book I’ve ever read is Ready, Fire, Aim by Michael Masterson. What makes it so useful is that it isn’t filled with theory. It’s practical advice from someone who actually built businesses—and three ideas from the book have stuck with me for years. The first is simple:Do what is already working.Entrepreneurs and creative people love being original. But sometimes we create products nobody needs, enter markets with little demand, or spend months perfecting an idea before finding out whether anyone actually wants it.There’s nothing wrong with originality, but if your goal is to build a business, it makes sense to study what the market has already proven. The second principle is that every business really needs two things:A product or service—and sales and marketing. You can build an incredible product, but without marketing, nothing happens. I think of the product as the car and marketing as the fuel. Without fuel, the Lamborghini still sits in the garage. And then there’s the principle right in the title:Ready. Fire. Aim.Get ready enough—and then do something.Launch the offer. Run the ad. Talk to customers. Put the idea in front of real people. Then use the feedback to improve your aim.Too many entrepreneurs reverse this. They spend months or years aiming, refining, preparing, learning, and building before they ever fire. But there’s another problem I ran into personally:I understood “Ready, Fire, Aim” intellectually…but I still struggled to fire.Because knowing you should take action and actually being able to take action are two very different things. That’s where mindset comes in.In this episode, I also explore:Why copying proven business models can be smarter than trying to reinvent everythingWhy selling a service can be one of the fastest ways to generate revenueWhy marketing is just as important as the thing you’re sellingHow SaaS companies test demand before building the productWhy procrastination is often a perceived cost-benefit problemHow lateral thinking can change the way you perceive taking actionWhy the goal isn’t to force yourself into action—but to become internally inspired to actThe deeper question is:What if the thing stopping you isn’t a lack of knowledge—but the way your mind currently perceives taking action? That’s the work I’m most interested in.Not more motivation. Not forcing yourself.Changing the internal equation so action begins to feel more natural.#ReadyFireAim #EntrepreneurMindset #BusinessBooks #BusinessStrategy #MindsetCoaching #Procrastination #TakeAction #Entrepreneurship -
Three Types of Beliefs Making You Play Small. 03.08.2026 16dk🔥 Join Wisdom & Confidence for live mindset coaching:https://www.skool.com/mindset-to-action-skool-3549/aboutWhat if the beliefs keeping you stuck don’t feel like beliefs at all—but simply feel true?Limiting beliefs shape what you think you’re capable of, how you see other people, and what opportunities you notice in the world. They often begin with a difficult experience. You make a judgment about yourself—I’m not confident, I’m not smart, I’m not a good speaker, I’m not that kind of person—and eventually that judgment becomes part of your identity. From there, your behaviour begins to shrink. You hesitate. You procrastinate. You overthink. You avoid opportunities. You feel resistance every time you try to move beyond the version of yourself you’ve accepted as true.In this episode, I break limiting beliefs into three main categories:Beliefs about yourselfBeliefs about other peopleBeliefs about the worldEach category can quietly build walls around your life.A lack of belief in yourself can stop you from acting. A lack of trust in others can lead you to do everything alone. And believing that the world is falling apart—or that there are no opportunities left—can prevent you from seeing the possibilities directly in front of you.The important question isn’t only whether a belief is true. It’s also:What has believing it cost you?How has it affected your past? How is it shaping your life today? What opportunities could you miss in the future if you never question it?When you begin dismantling these beliefs, you don’t just become more positive. You become able to see more—more ability within yourself, more value in others, and more opportunity in the world. That expanded perception can change which actions feel possible.Which of the three types of limiting beliefs is keeping you stuck right now?Share what stood out to you, and subscribe or follow for more conversations about confidence, mindset, resistance, and taking meaningful action. -
How Coaching Accelerates Growth 02.08.2026 23dk🔥 Join the Wisdom & Confidence community:https://www.skool.com/mindset-to-action-skool-3549/aboutGet 7 days free and join me for live mindset coaching, group coaching, ongoing support, and practical help overcoming the resistance that keeps you from taking action. What is coaching—and what should actually happen during a coaching session? If you’ve never experienced effective coaching, it can be difficult to understand. Most of us know what it feels like to receive advice, be told what to do, or talk through the same problem repeatedly. Coaching is different.Good coaching helps you see something you couldn’t see before. You may naturally have a major realization about yourself once every few years. You suddenly recognize a relationship pattern, understand why you keep procrastinating, or see how one of your beliefs has been shaping your behaviour.Coaching accelerates that process. In this episode, I explain how coaching creates the questions, perspectives, and emotional shifts that lead to those realizations—and why simply repeating your story is not enough to create meaningful change.I also break down the two main ways I help people move through resistance. The first is through the mind: asking targeted questions that challenge perceived limitations, expand awareness, and help you become more resourceful. The second is through emotion: helping you stop avoiding the discomfort that appears when you step outside your comfort zone. That discomfort may show up as fear, shame, perfectionism, procrastination, overthinking, scrolling, or other forms of distraction. In this episode, we explore:The difference between coaching and adviceWhy insight and awareness are essential for growthHow repeating the same story can keep you stuckWhy effective coaching should change your perspectiveHow questions can challenge perceived limitationsWhy procrastination and perfectionism are often protective mechanismsHow emotional avoidance creates coping and distractionQuestions that can help you process and release resistanceWho you might become without the feeling holding you backWhy mindset work must eventually lead to actionCoaching is not about giving you all the answers. It is about helping you see yourself, other people, and your situation from a less limited perspective. It is the process of accelerating the wisdom and awareness we would otherwise gain slowly through years of experience. But insight alone is not the final goal. The purpose of mindset work is to help you take action, gain experience, develop your abilities, and create real changes in your life. What would you do differently if the feeling holding you back was no longer there?Let me know what stood out to you, and subscribe or follow for more conversations about coaching, mindset, resistance, confidence, and taking meaningful action. -
What Does It Actually Take To Succeed? 01.08.2026 51dk🔥 Join the Wisdom & Confidence community:https://www.skool.com/mindset-to-action-skool-3549/aboutGet 7 days free and join me for live mindset coaching, group coaching, ongoing support, and practical help overcoming the resistance that keeps you from taking action. What does it actually take to succeed, unlock your potential, and create a life you genuinely want to live? Many people have a business idea, creative project, passion, or bigger vision for their life—but they keep one foot in and one foot out. They keep learning, planning, preparing, and perfecting without ever fully committing. In this episode, I explore why that happens and what it really takes to move from dreaming to doing. We look at how your values, strengths, and the activities that naturally put you into a state of flow can point you toward more fulfilling work. But discovering what you love is only the beginning. You also need to understand how your strengths can serve other people—and how service, contribution, and fair exchange create sustainable success.I also break down the invisible emotional resistance that appears when you move beyond your comfort zone. Fear, shame, self-doubt, perfectionism, procrastination, and concern about what other people will think can all keep you trapped inside an identity you unknowingly created. In this episode, you’ll discover:• How to identify the deeper qualities you love about your favourite activities• Why your values and strengths are clues to fulfilling work• How resistance disguises itself as planning, learning, and preparation• Why “just take action” is often incomplete advice• How to work through uncomfortable emotions instead of avoiding them• How other people’s imagined opinions influence your behaviour• Why action creates experience, skill, confidence, and eventually success• How service and fair exchange relate to business and money• Why receiving is just as important as giving• The repeating cycle of mindset work, action, experience, skill, and growthSuccess is not about endlessly working on your mindset. Mindset work has a purpose: to help you take the actions required to build your skills, serve others, and create the life you want.Your comfort zone expands every time you stop running from discomfort, release the emotional block, and take the next meaningful step.If this episode opened up a new perspective for you, leave a comment and tell me:What action have you been resisting—and what do you believe is holding you back?Subscribe or follow the podcast for more conversations about mindset, resistance, confidence, personal growth, and taking action toward the life you truly want. -

Then we avoid the actions we truly want to take because we don’t want to experience the guilt, shame, fear, or discomfort that might follow. These imagined expectations become invisible prison bars. Meanwhile, the door may have been open the entire time.In this episode, I explore:• Why fear of other people’s opinions keeps us trapped• How our thoughts create emotional resistance• Why failure can cause us to abandon our own self-respect• How survival programming leads to overthinking and procrastination• The importance of taking radical responsibility for your emotions• How to take action without constantly battling yourself• Why confidence and emotional resilience are skills that can be developedYou may already know exactly what you need to do. You may have the right plan, strategy, course, or business model. But information alone won’t help when every step feels like you’re moving through molasses. The real work is learning how to manage your mindset, work through resistance, maintain your self-respect when things don’t go your way, and continue moving toward a life that is genuinely your own.My goal is to help you become more confident, fulfilled, resilient, and aligned with who you truly are—so you don’t reach the end of your life wishing you had lived differently.Join the community, try the daily coaching sessions free for seven days, and begin working through whatever has been holding you back.I look forward to meeting you.#MindsetCoaching #Confidence #PersonalGrowth #OvercomingFear #Procrastination -
Why Relationships Are So Damn Hard 28.06.2026 24dkRelationships are one of the greatest mirrors for our personal growth. In this episode of the Unlocking Potential Podcast, Doug Spence explores why intimate relationships bring up our deepest fears, insecurities, attachment patterns, and unresolved wounds. Before a relationship can become healthy, we have to understand our own value. Without self-worth, we may either put ourselves above others to feel safe, or fall into infatuation, neediness, and chasing.Doug also breaks down why long-term relationships require more than self-regulation. Couples don’t just exist beside each other — they co-regulate, challenge each other, and help each other grow.In this episode, you’ll learn:Why self-worth changes how you handle rejectionHow low self-esteem can create overdog/underdog relationship dynamicsWhy authenticity attracts the right people and repels the wrong onesHow marriage, kids, career, and responsibility pressure a relationshipWhy couples must prioritize the relationship, not only the childrenThe difference between self-regulation and co-regulationHow anxious and avoidant attachment patterns play outHow to respond when your partner is triggered instead of reacting defensivelyRelationships are hard because they reveal the parts of you that still need trust, growth, maturity, and compassion.Learn more or reach out at:SpenceLifeCoaching.com -

Manifestation Isn’t Magic - It’s Subconscious Programming 25.05.2026 47dkMost people misunderstand manifestation. They think it means visualizing what they want and waiting for life to change. But real manifestation happens when you reprogram the subconscious mind so deeply that your actions, reactions, confidence, and perception begin to change automatically. In this episode, I explore the subconscious mind as the “automatic mind” — the part of you that shapes how you act before you consciously think. I talk about manifestation, law of attraction, personal magnetism, emotional release, nervous system regulation, limiting beliefs, the Demartini Method, faith, trust, and what it means to become calm, confident, aligned, and on purpose. This conversation is about moving from force to alignment. When your programming changes, your behaviour changes. When your behaviour changes, your life changes.Learn more:https://spencelifecoaching.com/https://unlockingpotential.ca/Join the Elevate Your Consciousness community:https://www.skool.com/mindset-to-action-skool-3549/about#SubconsciousMind #Manifestation #PersonalDevelopment #LifeCoaching #MindsetCoach #EmotionalHealing #PersonalMagnetism -
Midlife Crisis Is Not a Joke — It’s a Pattern 09.05.2026 26dkA midlife crisis is often mocked in movies and media, but in real life it can create serious emotional, relational, family, and financial damage. In this episode, I talk about what actually happens during a midlife crisis: the nervous system stress response, unresolved childhood pain, fear of mortality, polarized thinking, relationship questioning, limerence, affairs, shame, and the dangerous urge to make drastic life decisions while emotionally unstable. This is not the time to blow up your life.It is the time to slow down, regulate your nervous system, reconnect with yourself, rebalance your perceptions, and begin turning the crisis into an opportunity for deeper purpose, alignment, and personal transformation. In this talk, I cover:Why midlife crisis often begins after loss, aging parents, sickness, or mortality awarenessHow unresolved childhood pain can resurface decades laterWhy your perception can become polarized into all-good or all-bad thinkingWhy limerence and “soulmate” fantasies can appear during crisisWhy major decisions should not be made from shame, guilt, fear, or extreme excitementHow nervous system regulation, emotional release, and perception balancing help restore clarityHow a midlife crisis can become a midlife opportunityWhy purpose, mission, and self-alignment matter more than chasing another person or external escapeIf you are going through this, you are not broken. How I Healed My Past & Became a Coach (My Story) 01.05.2026 22dkIn this deeply personal episode of the Unlocking Potential Podcast, Doug Spence shares the story that shaped his life—and ultimately led him into coaching.Growing up without a father and carrying years of unresolved pain, Doug opens up about the emotional impact of those experiences and how they silently influenced his relationships and identity. For years, he believed he was “fine”… until becoming a father himself forced him to confront what he had been avoiding.Everything changed when he finally applied a powerful transformation tool known as the Demartini Method. What followed was a life-changing shift in perspective—one that allowed him to see his past, and his father, in a completely different light. In a single moment of clarity, years of pain were transformed into understanding, gratitude, and emotional freedom.Doug breaks down how this process works, why perception shapes our reality, and how asking the right questions can unlock hidden truths, dissolve emotional pain, and expand awareness. He also connects insights from other powerful teachings and thinkers, showing how different methods all point to the same core truth:👉 We don’t experience reality—we experience our perception of it.This episode is about healing, perspective, and realizing that even the most painful experiences may serve a deeper purpose in your growth.⚡ Join My Private CommunityLive coaching, courses, and tools to elevate your mindset:https://www.skool.com/mindset-to-action-skool-3549/about⚡ Apply for 1:1 Coachinghttps://spencelifecoaching.com/#PersonalGrowth #EmotionalHealing #Mindset #SelfImprovement #LifeCoaching #InnerHealing #MentalHealth #Consciousness #SelfAwareness #TraumaHealing #PerspectiveShift #SpiritualGrowth #UnlockYourPotential #DougSpence #MindsetToAction#Procrastination #Confidence #Selfhelp -

He discusses why so many men avoid asking for help, suppress their emotions, and try to “tough it out”—often with damaging long-term consequences.Doug explains that suffering in silence can eventually show up as burnout, illness, anger, relationship conflict, or even tragedy. Many men don’t want to simply talk about problems—they want real solutions. But most people were never taught practical tools for processing emotions, navigating pain, or handling life’s inevitable hardships. The episode highlights a core truth: life will always bring challenges. From childhood wounds and heartbreak to financial stress, family responsibilities, grief, health issues, and questions of purpose, pain is part of the human experience. The real question is not how to avoid suffering—but how to respond to it.Doug introduces a practical emotional release process inspired by the Sedona Method, teaching listeners how to stop suppressing feelings and begin working through them consciously. The process includes:Allowing yourself to fully feel emotions instead of avoiding themWelcoming fear, grief, shame, or anger without resistanceAsking: Could I let this feeling go? Would I let it go? When?Imagining who you would be without that emotional burdenTaking small, courageous actions despite discomfortHe also reframes grief and loss, suggesting that what we miss in others—love, kindness, humor, protection—still exists in new forms around us. By changing perception and allowing emotions to move through us, we gain clarity, compassion, and inner freedom. The episode closes with a deeper philosophical message: life is a balance of support and challenge, gain and loss, positive and negative. When we learn to see both sides of our experiences, we stop feeling victimized and start recognizing growth, meaning, and even love within life’s hardest moments.Key Takeaway:You cannot escape pain by suppressing it. Apply to work with me 1:1 → https://spencelifecoaching.com/In this powerful episode of the Unlocking Potential Podcast, Doug Spence explores the deeper root of fear, procrastination, and self-doubt through the lens of consciousness and awareness. Using a real Reddit post from a 19-year-old struggling with fear of failure at work, Doug breaks down why so many people avoid challenges—not because of the task itself, but because of the uncomfortable feelings they expect it to trigger.Doug explains that fear of failure is often built on two distorted perceptions: a limited view of ourselves (“I’m not capable”) and a limited view of others (“They’ll judge me or think I’m stupid”). These beliefs create emotional pain and keep us stuck. Rather than seeing pain as something to escape, Doug reframes it as a gift—feedback that points to where we need greater awareness and growth.Listeners are guided through practical mindset shifts and reflection exercises, including:How to stop avoiding uncomfortable emotions and learn to feel them safelyWhy your past failures may have served you more than you realizeHow to challenge the belief that others are always judging youThe importance of remembering moments when people supported and helped youWhy self-respect should not depend on success or failureHow to focus on what you can control: your thoughts, actions, and effortDoug also shares a broader truth: life always contains both support and challenge. Growth comes from learning to see both sides of every experience, instead of getting trapped in one-sided thinking. When awareness expands, courage, peace, gratitude, and action naturally follow. The episode closes with inspiring reminders from past podcast guests who overcame trauma, physical limitations, and adversity to create meaningful lives—proving that potential exists in all of us, no matter our circumstances.Key Takeaway:Fear of failure isn’t the real problem. Limited awareness is. When you change how you see yourself, others, and your past, you unlock the courage to move forward.#procrastination #confidence #selfhelp #success
