  • Just How Christian is Christmas? 28.07.2026 2sa 3dk
If you’ve been on the internet around the holidays over the last few years, you’ve probably come across one or two videos asserting that Christmas is a collection of pagan traditions which were all rolled into one in order to make it easier to convert people. To be fair, Christianization was a real thing, and the Church did syncretize some aspects of various festivals into Christian holidays - but when it comes to Christmas, that’s not really the case. Before we get into why that is, though, we do want to take a minute and explain that we're not trying to invalidate anyone’s deeply held religious beliefs. We know that paganism is seeing a resurgence, and we're aware that we have a lot of people who identify with various pagan traditions who watch our channel. Our only request is that you consider how you’d feel if someone came along and told you that one of your most important religious festivals didn’t matter because it was actually stolen from somewhere else, and then hear us out as we go through the reasons why we firmly believe Christmas is, genuinely, a purely Christian holiday. 0:00 - Open 4:52 - The Lads' Favorite Santa Movies 18:59 - The Origins of Santa Claus 33:31 - Where Did Christmas Come From?
