This podcast presents a biblical exposition of 1 Kings, focusing on chapters 8 through 12. It explores Solomon's dedication of the Temple, his later fall into idolatry, and the division of the kingdom. The teaching emphasizes salvation through the gospel of the water and the Spirit, arguing that Jesus' baptism and crucifixion provide remission of sins. The series aims to keep listeners from being carried away by idols and to stand firm in God's righteousness.

Preface 01.08.2026 16dkDear readers, Through this book I wish to share with you the Word of 1 Kings, chapters 8 through 12. These words record the course that runs from the time Solomon enshrined the Ark of the Covenant in the completed Temple and dedicated it to God, through the inclining of his heart to idols and the declaration that the kingdom would be divided, to the process by which the nation and its worship were split through the wrong choices of Rehoboam and Jeroboam. Outwardly it looks like a story of the glory of the Temple and the prosperity of the kingdom, of political division and a new dynasty; but within it are contained the reason we must set the gospel of the water and the Spirit at the center of our hearts, and the weighty truth that the Word of salvation God has ordained must never be changed by human thinking. https://www.bjnewlife.org/ https://youtube.com/@TheNewLifeMission https://www.facebook.com/shin.john.35 -
Ch08_01_Biblical Exposition_Overview of the Entire Content • From the Perspective of the Gospel of the Water and the Spirit 01.08.2026 46dk1 Kings chapter 8 records how Solomon moved the Ark of the Covenant from the City of David into the Most Holy Place of the new temple, and dedicated the temple to God while the glory of God filled it. Solomon proclaimed before the people of Israel that God’s promise had been fulfilled, and he pleaded with God to hear whenever the people prayed toward the temple in all kinds of situations, including lawsuits, war, drought, plague, and life in captivity. Afterward he blessed the people, offered many sacrifices, and held the dedication of the temple. https://www.bjnewlife.org/ https://youtube.com/@TheNewLifeMission https://www.facebook.com/shin.john.35 -
Ch08_02_Biblical Exposition_The Gospel of the Water and the Spirit That We Must Enshrine at the Center of the Temple 01.08.2026 2sa 32dk1 Kings chapter 8 is the Word in which the Ark of the Covenant of the LORD comes into the completed temple, and Solomon dedicates the temple before all Israel and prays to God. The temple had already been built and its furnishings were in place, but at its center there absolutely had to be the Ark of the Covenant. A temple without the Ark is a house with only an outward form left. This shows that our faith today also must stand not on outward form but on the center of the covenant God has established. https://www.bjnewlife.org/ https://youtube.com/@TheNewLifeMission https://www.facebook.com/shin.john.35 -
Ch08_03_Sermon_Only When the Ark of the Covenant Is at Its Center Is the Temple the House of God (1 Kings 8:1-66) 01.08.2026 27dk1 Kings chapter 8 is the chapter of the dedication of Solomon’s temple. The temple was already completed, and the furnishings to go into it were in place. Now Solomon gathered the elders of Israel and all the heads of the tribes to Jerusalem and brought the Ark of the Covenant of the LORD up from the City of David, Zion, to the temple. And when the Ark was set under the wings of the cherubim in the Most Holy Place, the glory of the LORD filled the temple. https://www.bjnewlife.org/ https://youtube.com/@TheNewLifeMission https://www.facebook.com/shin.john.35 -
Ch08_04_Sermon_Prayer toward the Temple Must Be a Faith That Does Not Change the Law of Sacrifice (1 Kings 8:22-66) 01.08.2026 23dkIn 1 Kings chapter 8, Solomon dedicates the temple and offers a long prayer. He stands before the altar of the LORD, spreads out his hands toward heaven, and confesses that God has fulfilled the promise He made to David. And he pleads that when the people of Israel pray toward the temple from the place of their many sins, plagues, defeats, and captivity, God would hear from heaven and remit their sins. https://www.bjnewlife.org/ https://youtube.com/@TheNewLifeMission https://www.facebook.com/shin.john.35 -
Ch09_01_Biblical Exposition_Overview of the Entire Content • From the Perspective of the Gospel of the Water and the Spirit 01.08.2026 43dk1 Kings chapter 9 records how, after Solomon finished building the temple and the palace, God appeared to him a second time, with the promise of the throne conditioned on obedience and the warning against idolatry. There follow his dealings with Hiram king of Tyre, the building of various cities and military facilities, the system of the labor force, the sacrifices at the temple, and the maritime trade through Ophir. https://www.bjnewlife.org/ https://youtube.com/@TheNewLifeMission https://www.facebook.com/shin.john.35 -
Ch09_02_Biblical Exposition_The LORD Appeared Again and Gave the Covenant and the Warning 01.08.2026 1sa 6dk1 Kings chapter 9 begins with the word God spoke when He appeared to Solomon again, after Solomon had finished building the house of the LORD and his own palace. The time when the work of God is finished is the time when a man’s heart is revealed. When he begins a work he can be humble, but when the work is accomplished and its results are before his eyes, a man can tilt toward his own glory and his own comfort. For Solomon, too, that very time was a crucial time of testing. https://www.bjnewlife.org/ https://youtube.com/@TheNewLifeMission https://www.facebook.com/shin.john.35 -
Ch09_03_Sermon_What Must We Do Not to Serve Idols before God like Solomon? (1 Kings 9:1-9) 01.08.2026 27dkLooking at today’s Scripture passage, after Solomon had finished building the palace and the temple, God appeared to Solomon a second time. This is what God said to Solomon: He said that He had specially set apart and consecrated that temple, and that He would put His eyes and His heart there. https://www.bjnewlife.org/ https://youtube.com/@TheNewLifeMission https://www.facebook.com/shin.john.35 -
Ch09_04_Sermon_Pursue the Things of the Spirit More Than the Things of the Flesh (1 Kings 9:15-22) 01.08.2026 1sa 24dkThat we have truly become one people and one family is something to be deeply thankful for in these last days. That all our sins have been remitted through Jesus and we have received salvation, that we have become a people delivered from all sin—this is a matter of great thanksgiving. Especially in this age, how amazing it is that we have been saved from sin! I will preach the Word now, and then we will have fellowship in the second part of the service. https://www.bjnewlife.org/ https://youtube.com/@TheNewLifeMission https://www.facebook.com/shin.john.35 -
Ch10_01_Biblical Exposition_Overview of the Entire Content • From the Perspective of the Gospel of the Water and the Spirit 01.08.2026 44dk1 Kings chapter 10 records the visit of the queen of Sheba, who came to Jerusalem to confirm Solomon’s wisdom and fame, and the enormous wealth and international influence of Solomon’s kingdom. Solomon’s wisdom became known to many nations, and gold, silver, spices, and precious stones gathered to Jerusalem; but the picture of his excessive accumulation of chariots, horses, and riches also shows the spiritual danger that would appear later. https://www.bjnewlife.org/ https://youtube.com/@TheNewLifeMission https://www.facebook.com/shin.john.35 -
Ch10_02_Biblical Exposition_The Visit of the Queen of Sheba, the Glory of Solomon, and the Source of True Wisdom and Glory 01.08.2026 1sa 12dk1 Kings chapter 10 is the chapter in which Solomon’s wisdom and riches are displayed before the world. The queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of the LORD and came and tested his wisdom, and she was greatly amazed to see Solomon’s wisdom and the order and abundance of his palace. In the eyes of man, Solomon’s kingdom stood at the height of wisdom, splendor, and success. https://www.bjnewlife.org/ https://youtube.com/@TheNewLifeMission https://www.facebook.com/shin.john.35 -
Ch10_03_Sermon_Did You Not Know That You Become a Heretic If You Worship Idols? (1 Kings 10:1-29) 01.08.2026 54dkThese days I want to teach my fellow workers overseas and many souls who it is that belongs to heresy. If there are any who have fallen into heresy, I want to bring them out of it. So now I intend to tell you what heresy is within the truth of the gospel of the water and the Spirit. It seems that they truly need this faith and this knowledge. https://www.bjnewlife.org/ https://youtube.com/@TheNewLifeMission https://www.facebook.com/shin.john.35 -
Ch10_04_Sermon_We Must See the Road by Which the Glory of Solomon Leads to the Sin of Jeroboam (1 Kings 10:1-29) 01.08.2026 20dk1 Kings chapter 10 is the chapter in which the kingdom of Solomon looks most glorious. The queen of Sheba came to see Solomon’s wisdom, and the people of the world desired to see his face. His riches and wisdom were greater than those of all the kings of the earth, and much gold and many presents came in year by year. Silver was as common as stones, the vessels of the palace were pure gold, and horses and chariots came in from Egypt. https://www.bjnewlife.org/ https://youtube.com/@TheNewLifeMission https://www.facebook.com/shin.john.35 -
Ch11_01_Biblical Exposition_Overview of the Entire Content • From the Perspective of the Gospel of the Water and the Spirit 01.08.2026 47dk1 Kings chapter 11 records how Solomon loved many foreign women, and following their gods and building high places, his heart drew far from God. God declared that He would tear the kingdom away from Solomon’s son and divide it, and He raised up Hadad, Rezon, and Jeroboam as adversaries. This chapter shows the process by which the reign of Solomon, who had enjoyed wisdom, wealth, and honor in full, collapsed through idolatry, and the cause of the division of the kingdom was laid. https://www.bjnewlife.org/ https://youtube.com/@TheNewLifeMission https://www.facebook.com/shin.john.35 -
Ch11_02_Biblical Exposition_Solomon's Fall in His Later Years and the Foretelling of the Judgment That Would Divide the Nation 01.08.2026 1sa 43dk1 Kings chapter 11 shows through the fall of Solomon that even a man who has received great grace, wisdom, and riches from God can go the road of idolatry at any time if he does not keep his heart. Solomon was the king who built the temple of the LORD, the king who received wisdom from God, and a man so greatly blessed that the people of the world came to him when they heard of his glory. But in his later years he loved foreign women, and his heart was turned away from God. https://www.bjnewlife.org/ https://youtube.com/@TheNewLifeMission https://www.facebook.com/shin.john.35 -
Ch11_03_Sermon_God Blesses the Life Lived for the Gospel (1 Kings 11:1-13) 01.08.2026 33dkToday we have looked at the Word of God from 1 Kings 11:1 to 13. It says, “King Solomon loved many foreign women, as well as the daughter of Pharaoh: women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Sidonians, and Hittites” (1 Kings 11:1). Concerning these nations God had spoken to the children of Israel beforehand. He had said, You shall not intermarry with them, for they will surely turn away your hearts after their gods; yet Solomon clung to them in love. https://www.bjnewlife.org/ https://youtube.com/@TheNewLifeMission https://www.facebook.com/shin.john.35 -
Ch11_04_Sermon_Who Is a Heretic before God? (1 Kings 11:1-13) 01.08.2026 40dkToday I intend to speak on how collective heresy arose within the New Testament church. In the Old Testament, the people of Israel could meet God through the forefathers of faith. They were led through the law given through Moses and through the prophets of God, and for the sins they committed they could obtain salvation through the law of sacrifice revealed in the Tabernacle. Therefore the love of God and the salvation of the remission of sin revealed in the Tabernacle were the truth the people of Israel had to believe and keep in order to obtain life and salvation. https://www.bjnewlife.org/ https://youtube.com/@TheNewLifeMission https://www.facebook.com/shin.john.35 -
Ch11_05_Sermon_Those Who Have Now Replaced God with Material Things Are Those Who Serve Idols before God (1 Kings 11:1-13) 01.08.2026 44dkThe Bible records that King Solomon took the daughter of Pharaoh and made her his wife. How many wives did Solomon have? Seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines. Solomon, having become the king of the nation of Israel, should have led the people before God; but instead his heart departed from God. He departed from God in his heart and served countless Gentile idols, dishonoring God. https://www.bjnewlife.org/ https://youtube.com/@TheNewLifeMission https://www.facebook.com/shin.john.35 -
Ch11_06_Sermon_How Pseudo-Christianity Came About (1 Kings 11:26-40) 01.08.2026 30dkHow are you? We have returned from holding good meetings. Traveling the provinces, we also looked into a chapel and an office, and we intend to plant churches in several regions and expand the work for the gospel. Today, through the Word of 1 Kings 11:26–40, I would like to look into how pseudo-Christianity came about. https://www.bjnewlife.org/ https://youtube.com/@TheNewLifeMission https://www.facebook.com/shin.john.35 -
Ch12_01_Biblical Exposition_Overview of the Entire Content • From the Perspective of the Gospel of the Water and the Spirit 01.08.2026 44dk1 Kings chapter 12 records the process by which the kingdom of Israel was divided into north and south when Rehoboam, Solomon’s son, rejected the people’s request to lighten their heavy yoke. The ten northern tribes made Jeroboam king, and Jeroboam, to protect his own kingship, set up golden calves at Bethel and Dan and changed the priesthood, the feast, and the system of sacrifice at his own will. https://www.bjnewlife.org/ https://youtube.com/@TheNewLifeMission https://www.facebook.com/shin.john.35
