What I tell my Stern Business School students on how to thrive in the age of AI 11.09.2026 33минFor today's undergraduates, the impact of artificial intelligence on the jobs market means massive job uncertainty. So how should young people prepare themselves for the unknown unknowns of a career in the age of AI? "The uncertainty will be overwhelming for a fraction of them, but I think for a fraction of them they will look back in 10 years and say this was a period of such great opportunity," says Arun Sundararajan, a professor of entrepreneurship, technology operations and statistics at New York University's Stern School of Business. This episode was co-produced with China's CGTN and co-hosted by Xin Guan, CGTN anchor and chief business news editor. AI's real impact on jobs - what it means for you, your company and future generations 27.08.2026 37минArtificial intelligence is already having an impact on the way most of us work - but it's still early days and it's hard to predict exactly which jobs will disappear completely, what new ones will be created, and when and where this will happen. It's a subject that's important to all of us - so Radio Davos spoke to the head of an AI services firm, Ravi Kumar of Cognizant, and to the head of the World Economic Forum's Centre for the New Economy and Society, Saadia Zahidi. Both have unique insights into the impact of AI on the economy, on employment, and the implications for education and training. Meet the Leader: Why AI 'workslop' is a leadership problem 20.08.2026 23минWorkslop – low-quality work produced through poor human-AI collaboration – is wasting time, slowing teams down and limiting the productivity gains leaders expect from AI. But the problem isn't always the technology – it's often a signal to leaders that teams need more support. Alexi Robichaux, CEO of digital learning platform BetterUp, says AI can amplify both good and bad leadership standards and leaders need to define what excellent work looks like before AI is deployed. From 'polycrisis' to 'polytunity' - the future of geopolitics with Prof Yuen Yuen Ang 29.07.2026 32мин"Polycrisis" was a term coined to describe the convergence of multiple global challenges: political polarisation, conflicts, and the breakdown of post-World War Two norms on issues such as trade and security. Yuen Yuen Ang, a political science professor at Johns Hopkins University, says polycrisis was a useful way of framing the problem, but to find solutions we should consider the global "polytunity". This episode of Radio Davos was produced jointly with CNA Correspondent from Singapore-based Channel News Asia, and is co-hosted with CNA journalist Olivia Siong. https://www.channelnewsasia.com/listen/cna-correspondent This was recorded at the World Economic Forum's Annual Meeting of the New Champions 2026. "Not just small men" - how healthcare is failing women, and what can be done 23.07.2026 30минWomen spend 25% more of their lives in poor health than men and are 50% more likely to die of a heart attack than a male patient. The statistics are staggering - but there are some relatively simple and cost-effective ways healthcare systems can improve the situation. Lucy Perez of the McKinsey Health Institute sets out the challenges and talks us through these potential solutions. From 'US innovates, China imitates' to 'Opportunity 2.0' - lessons from Summer Davos 16.07.2026 56мин"One of the most common refrains you used to hear 10 years ago was 'US innovates, China imitates, and Europe regulates'. Today, I don't hear that anymore." Aparna Bharadwaj, a managing director at Boston Consulting Group, joins us to analyse what we learned about geopolitics and business relations at Summer Davos, AMNC26. And Yang Yanqing, director of ShanghaiTech's Center for Education, Innovation and Sustainable Development, dissects how the rise of artificial intelligence has transformed education and jobs markets worldwide. Both were in Dalian, China for the World Economic Forum's Annual Meeting of the New Champions and joined us online to discuss the big lessons on geopolitics, economics and more from AMNC26. The Hormuz shock, AI and China: the state of global energy, with Jason Bordoff 09.07.2026 26минIs 2026 the year it all changed for energy? The Strait of Hormuz closure was "the largest oil supply disruption in history" but has not (yet) brought the global economy to its knees. But are we now living in a post-Hormuz world where countries and companies are seeking to diversify energy supply and ramp up renewables? Jason Bordoff of the Center on Global Energy Policy and the Columbia Energy Exchange podcast returns to Radio Davos, at the Forum's 'Summer Davos' in China, for an update on the global energy situation. Financial fragmentation: the $6 trillion cost of breaking the "plumbing" of global finance 04.06.2026 49минThe global economy is fragmenting, and it could lead to a hit of $6 trillion to GDP worldwide. That's more than the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic or the 2008 financial crisis. So what exactly is causing this fragmentation, and can the impacts be mitigated? Finance industry experts join us to explore the forces of fragmentation and examine a new report by the World Economic Forum and Oliver Wyman, which quantifies its impact and details the consequences on the global economy and emerging markets in particular. Guests: Matt Strahan, Private Market Initiatives Lead at the World Economic Forum Daniel Tannebaum, Global Anti-Financial Crime Practice Leader at Oliver Wyman Anne Walsh, Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer of Guggenheim Partners Daniel Mminele, Chairman of Nedbank Links: Deepening Divides: The Cost of a More Fragmented Financial System: https://wef.ch/financialfragmentation26 Related podcasts: Chief Economists Outlook: counting the cost of the Hormuz crisis, with Maersk's Ilaria Maselli: https://www.weforum.org/podcasts/radio-davos/episodes/chief-economists-outlook-maersk-ilaria-maselli/ The Iran oil shock: will it force the world to re-think the future of energy?: https://www.weforum.org/podcasts/radio-davos/episodes/oil-shocks-hormuz-iran-columbia-energy-exchange-jason-bordoff/ The rise of industrial policy - why governments are back in the business of business: https://www.weforum.org/podcasts/radio-davos/episodes/industrial-policy-trade-choke-points/ Welcome to Cold War Two: historian Niall Ferguson on geopolitics in 2026: https://www.weforum.org/podcasts/radio-davos/episodes/niall-ferguson-geopolitics-cold-war/ Check out all our podcasts on wef.ch/podcasts: YouTube: - https://www.youtube.com/@wef/podcasts Radio Davos - subscribe: https://pod.link/1504682164 Meet the Leader - subscribe: https://pod.link/1534915560 Agenda Dialogues - subscribe: https://pod.link/1574956552 -
Chief Economists Outlook: counting the cost of the Hormuz crisis, with Maersk's Ilaria Maselli 28.05.2026 41минAs the World Economic Forum publishes its latest Chief Economists Outlook, Maersk's Head of Macro & Market Insights Ilaria Maselli gives her view on the state of the global economy. The closure of the Strait of Hormuz, "the aorta of global fossil fuel trade", is one of the "biggest crises" in the history of capitalism, with huge implications for economies around the world, Maselli says. And we discuss how the impact of the Hormuz crisis compares to the shock that the COVID pandemic imposed on the world, in terms of economic growth and inflation.
