Everything In Conversation: The Eerie Adultification of North West 16.09.2026 25minHello EICritters… In today’s Everything In Conversation - we’re discussing North West. In August of this year, Dazed released images of their Autumn 2026 issue, which features North, the 13-year-old daughter of reality TV star, brand owner and actress Kim Kardashian and musician Kanye West, as their cover star. When we’ve spoken about North on EIC previously, we uniformly agreed that there was something about her music career that doesn’t sit right with us: a recently turned 13-year-old performing at festivals, travelling to events without her parents, being filmed and photographed by thousands of people at a time and being swarmed by paparazzi. Now her words, opinions and thoughts have been written up in media written for and by adults. Are we right to feel uneasy about this? Is this any different from the careers of the child stars from our youth? And is this a sign of things to come for the future of the children of the Kardashian dynasty?Make sure you’re following us on Instagram for your chance to weigh in and give us your opinions in future episodes. Love you - enjoy the ep! Everything In Conversation: Is Smoking "Chic"? 09.09.2026 30minHello EICiggies, Is smoking cool again? Was it ever? With smoking once again at the epicentre of celebrity chic we asked YOU whether or not you think people are picking up their lighters and throwing away their cares. And if so, are we experiencing a trickle down from celebs which is reversing decades of public health campaigns? We also reflect on our own relationships with smoking, how our attitudes towards smoking have changed through the years and how smoking has come to re-enter the mainstream. It’s the comeback that none of us expected. Can we attribute the rise of smoking as an aesthetic marker to a resistance to wellness, a natural bedfellow to the rise of diet culture - or are the famous people to blame? We consider the measures that can be put in place to stop it. Hope you enjoy the episode and as always, please rate, review follow, subscribe and share the show. Influencer Special: No Influencers Allowed, Creator MLMs & The Age Of Rage(bait) 04.09.2026 53minHi EICelebrities…Today’s we’re #gifting you an influencer special. Once the guardians of the internet, are we now experiencing a rising tide of anti-influencer angst? Is it sexist to find them annoying? And just how relevant are they any more? First up we share the creators and influencers who we love to follow. Ruchira loves following Navy Ahluwalia (@naviahluwalia) & Savannah Sachdev (@savannahsachdev), Oenone loves following Veronika Slowikowska (@veronika_iscool) and Beth loves following Melissa Holdbrook-Akposoe (@melissaswardrobe) and Jack & Ash (@jackremmington & @ashholme).Then: is hating influencers a socially acceptable way to hate women? After a shop sign in America reading "no influencers" went viral, popular influencer Levi Coralynn argued that anti-influencer sentiment is often a vehicle for misogyny. We ask why female creators do seem to get pigeonholed and flattened by the term ‘influencer’ when men are allowed to label themselves in far more varied ways online? And is some of the criticism aimed at influencers fair?Next: are we in a style influencer recession? Hermes unboxing videos and videos of them grabbing a matcha pre-pilates aren’t garnering the same 7 figure viewership anymore, "forcing" increasing numbers of influencers to pivot to making low level ragebait to engage new audiences. In response to this, are we seeing more desire for intellectual and paywalled content on platforms such as Substack? Is it time for us to become ragebaiters or should we all go and touch grass? Finally: the latest influencer pivot seems to be teaching others how to influence. Is this an MLM or a natural career progression for a creator? Thanks so much for supporting out independent podcast! Everything In Conversation: The (Katie) Price Of Fame 02.09.2026 31minHi there EICrocodiles! Today’s bonus episode is dedicated to the myth, the legend… Jordan AKA The Pricey AKA Katie Price. In July, Louis Theroux’s production company released a four-part documentary series offering a retrospective on the 30 years Price has spent in the public eye, and reflecting on the fallout of living a life seemingly dedicated to headline culture. For some she’s a a national treasure, an icon of the 90s and 00s and a fixture of British culture. Others criticise her for a history of questionable behaviour. In this episode we dive into the picture painted of Katie Price in this docuseries, how she has bounced back after a series of traumas and scandals, and why our soft spot doesn’t seem to want to go away. Was Katie Price the original Molly-Mae? Are we willing to set aside her scandals for entertainment value? Is this just a woman processing trauma? Are You Wearing The... The Chanel Barefoot Shoe? Amanda Knox Is A Comedian & Megxit's OVER Meg's IN 28.08.2026 1h 5minHello EICriminals! Today, we’re taking a stroll down bonkers alley to answer the question that you’ve all been asking… when is a shoe not a shoe? We’re really living in a foot guy’s world rn… We share our heartache following the death of Dolly Parton and reflect on the incredible legacy she’s left behind. Keep your ears peeled for Beth’s *very* special tribute. Are you kinda sick of kinda chic? The trend that we’ve all been seeing ALL over our feeds this summer has got us wondering… is there any room for creativity online when creators are rewarded for replicating content? We also discuss Amanda Knox and her Edinburgh Fringe show. Why has her show sparked such a debate? Does she have the right to tell her story and what moral obligations does she have? We discuss the case and details of the trial in the second segment, if this is something you may not wish to hear please do skip that segment.Meanwhile: is Marc Jacobs going to style Luigi Mangione for his upcoming New York State murder trial? AI Gae Guy, Literary Witch Hunts & Media Hounding 21.08.2026 57minHello EICroquettes! We are so back and Oenone has fallen for a new conspiracy, it’s like we’ve never been away. We’re bursting to the seams with two weeks of what we’ve been loving: from memes to literature - as always, we’re across it all. Enemy of the pod Sam Altman has found himself as the subject of a hilarious (and believable to some) series of memes created by Frosted Jake. Is this the ultimate punch up? Or did Frosted Jake inadvertently create a pitch perfect ChatGPT ad?Once again, the world of literature has been dominated with discourse around AI use in publishing. Have we ushered in a new era of AI witch-hunts? And why are non-white authors being disproportionately targeted? We also discuss the tragic news of Dr Jason Arday’s death and consider the responsibility of the media’s reporting around it. We know that this is an upsetting topic - so we just want to give you a heads up that this comes at the end of the episode. Have you been at the Edinburgh Fringe? DM us with your dispatches: we want to hear about the best shows, your favourite new talents, and if any of you saw Amanda Knox’s show. Yesteryear, Tradwife Propaganda & Nara Smith with Caro Claire Burke (Rerelease) 14.08.2026 44minHello EICritics, earlier this year we had the pleasure of speaking with author and podcaster, Caro Claire Burke. Since then the book has only grown in popularity and sales. It really has been the book of 2026.A quick synopsis of Yesteryear: Natalie is a trad wife influencer with hundreds of thousands of followers. As far as her audience knows, Natalie loves her farmhouse, her well-behaved children, making sourdough from scratch and her perfect husband Caleb. But behind the scenes of her Instagram content, everything is very, very different. Then, one morning, Natalie wakes up in the 1800s. Her phone, her assistants, they’re all gone. Is it a hoax? A reality show? A test from God? Natalie just knows she has to escape. And don't worry – no spoilers! We loved speaking with her and hope you enjoy catching up on the interview after you've hopefully read the book!Love, O,R,B xxx p.s. we're back next week! <3Vanity Fair - Lifestyle Creator Nara Smith... As we mentioned last week we're on a rare (but needed!) summer break from the podcast, and using this time to dig into the archive and rerelease some gems from 2024. This week is a return to a deep dive episode where we talked about our previous Hot Girl summers and the impact of the cost of living crisis on romance. How are we meant to find the loves of our lives when a second round of drinks is out of budget? Plus, we discuss a rise in celibacy. If Julia Fox and Lenny Kravitz are doing it, maybe we should be doing it too? And finally we’re asking the important questions about dating apps. Are they terrible? Why are they terrible? And what can we do to stop them making *us* feel terrible? Thanks so much for listening/re-listening! Everything In Conversation: Is Instagram Doomed? 29.07.2026 15minHello EIContent-obsessives – would you pay £3.19 a month to see how many times your crush viewed your story? Well, now you can! Introducing Instagram Plus!Instagram Plus is the new optional monthly subscription that unlocks exclusive customisation and insights on the platform, including 48-hour story extensions, anonymous story viewing, and rewatch counts. Instagram claims this is to give us users "more of what we love".But in a piece for The Atlantic, Annie Joy Williams writes: "If what you love is the ability to more conveniently keep tabs on crushes or enemies, by which I mean torture yourself, then Instagram nailed it. Instagram Plus is social media’s newest low—a company preying on our most pathetic impulses, for the price of a small iced coffee."This week's extra episode dives into what users really want from the app, tech bros' fixation with offering a poor product and the future of living life online. Beth-stans – we're sorry, our beloved was on hol this week, so Oenone and Ruchira took this one on. Also, the group are taking a well-deserved two-week break to rest and come back stronger. The Odyssey, Cancelled Women & Caroline Calloway's Return 24.07.2026 52minHello EIC, this week we're taking a look at the return of two cancelled women from pop culture. Also we are very sorry for any audio issues. We were blessed to be recording IRL at the Homewood Hotel and Spa (tysm to them!).Influencer, author and infamous 'scammer' Caroline Calloway made a public return to discourse last week with a new piece detailing her experience on Ozempic. Known for flower crowns, long IG captions in the 2010s and a viral creativity workshop where she charged hundreds of dollars for sharing her own posts, Calloway's essay sparked a big discussion around GLP-1s and the usefulness of weight loss transparency in 2026.Next up, Olivia Wilde is back on a press run, and this one looks very different to her last. The director and actor has risen from the discourse ashes after Don't Worry Darling to critical fanfare and high praise for her latest film, The Invite. We take a look at her recent interviews, the film and the wildly (sorry) different response to her and her talent this time round.Thank you so much for listening to us this week! Everything In Conversation: Is Being A Bitch The Cure To Chronic Illness? 22.07.2026 21minHello EIClique! This week we're asking, is the secret to good health, being a bitch, actually? In a piece titled ‘“Be a bitch or develop an autoimmune disease”, Sheya Kurian writes, ‘The internet’s latest health theory isn’t backed by science, but its popularity reveals how many women are exhausted by their own pleasantness’. The theory is everywhere on TikTok and Instagram, posts and testimonials racking up hundreds of thousands of views argue that years of people-pleasing, conflict-avoidance, and suppressed anger eventually show up in the body as eczema, hives, flare-ups, you name it. As Kurian writes in the piece, no doctor is prescribing "stand up to your annoying coworker" as treatment, however, there's obviously a reason that so many women resonate with it as an idea: research does link chronic stress to inflammation and immune dysregulation, and women are disproportionately affected by autoimmune disease. What do we make of this latest internet craze? Listen and find out!We hope you enjoy, as always please rate, review, follow & share the show :) love ya, O,R,B. xxoxoxoxo“Be a bitch or develop an autoimmune disease” has a CTA for women Hosted on Acast. This week we're your committed content matriarchs, bringing you a special episode all about mothers, mothering and motherhood. We start the episode discussing a recent essay in The Cut by actor, model and author Emily Ratajkowski where she explores her post-baby/post-divorce sex life. Is her tale of degradation, millennial men and going from dimly lit bar to baby bedtime aspirational or just plain un-relatable?Then we move on to the pressure to subscribe to a particular mum-aesthetic- butter moms, analogue moms, tuscan moms, gentle moms... the list goes on and only gets more exhausting. Is this slop or a way for women to retain identity after giving birth? And finally- could ChatGPT actually be an effective coparent? WAGs, Man Bags & Which Footballer Gifted An Orgy To His Dad? With Jack Rivllin 10.07.2026 1h 8minHey EIChampions 🏆 ! Come and take an EIC-style spin 🚗 around the football ⚽️ block: it's the World Cup's world 🌍 & we're all just living in it, baby 💋. (It's coming home FYI.)This week on the podcast we are without Ruchira, who is currently on honeymoon. She’ll be back in a couple of weeks and we’ll do a big wedding debrief then- but for this episode, as you will hear, we are joined by Jack Rivlin from The Upshot podcast! The show where he, alongside Zach Sweeney Lynch, covers brilliantly funny sports stories - everything from drunken dressing-room escapades to deep dives into famous sports personalities and their scandalous lives. Their current world cup coverage is also absolutely unmissable. First up, we give our predictions for Saturday's game, recommend our favourite animals to get betting advice from, and discuss the hottest football managers (spoiler: it's all of them). Then we talk about something messy- no, not Lionel - but ongoing allegations towards FIFA of corruption, US favouritism and collusion with Donald Trump. Perhaps the biggest recent example of this was the decision to rescind a red card suspension of US player Folarin Balogun and allow him to play in a last-16 match earlier this week against Belgium. As Jack calls it, it's a 'love-in' between Trump & Infantino.Next up, we're sure everyone knows what a WAG is- but in case you’re waking up from a 30-year coma- it’s a term meaning 'Wives And Girlfriends', usually attributed to the partners of professional footballers. The origin of the term is somewhat disputed- some say it was christened in 2002 with coverage of teenage Colleen after Wayne Rooney’s first Premier League goal, others say it goes back even further to the infamous purple-outfitted Posh & Beck’s wedding of 1999. We reminisce on the best to ever do it!And lastly, some salacious stories from some of the most famous men in sport! Plus lots of meandering, philandering, Haaland-pandering, tangents in the middle! We hope you enjoy ☺️ , as always please do rate, review, and follow the show! And share with your friends! And leave a Spotify comment!Love you, byeeeeeeeeeee. The Upshot2026 World Cup: The murky ties between FIFA and the US2015 FIFA corruption scandalTrump Asked FIFA to Review U.S. Player’s Suspension. Everything In Conversation: Meta Glasses, Perverts & Privacy Vs. Content 08.07.2026 25minHello EICustard Creams! For this week's bonus we're discussing the ethics of wearing or owning smart glasses.
