EP 38 | Why Do I Always Expect Something Bad to Happen? How to Stop Waiting for the Other Shoe to Drop and Trust God Again 18.08.2026 27minHave you ever noticed that when life finally gets quiet…you have a hard time trusting the quiet? Maybe you've been through one hard season after another. Just when you think you can finally catch your breath, something else happens. Eventually, you start waiting for the other shoe to drop. The phone rings, and your stomach sinks. You receive good news, but immediately wonder what the next test will show. Things are going well with your family, finances, or health, but instead of enjoying the peace, part of you is already preparing for the next problem. So how do we stop expecting the worst after we've experienced enough hard things to know that difficult things really can happen? In this episode of Healing Through Scripture, we're talking about the difference between biblical wisdom and living constantly braced for impact and what God's Word teaches us about worrying about tomorrow, trusting God after hard seasons, and learning to receive the peace He's given us today. Because faith isn't believing nothing difficult will ever happen again. It's learning to believe: Whatever tomorrow holds, God will already be there. In This Episode We're talking about: Why you may always feel like you're waiting for the other shoe to drop What happens when one difficult season seems to follow another Why peace can actually feel uncomfortable after prolonged uncertainty The difference between preparing wisely and living in fear Why worry can feel productive even though it doesn't give us control What Jesus says about worrying about tomorrow in Matthew 6 Why we don't need to borrow tomorrow's trouble and carry it today What Israel's daily manna teaches us about trusting God one day at a time How fear can show up without becoming the truth we agree with How gratitude brings our minds back to the present Five practical ways to stop rehearsing worst-case scenarios How to trust God with the people we love when we can't control their future Why ordinary, peaceful days are gifts we're allowed to enjoy Scriptures From This Episode Matthew 6:25–34 — Jesus' teaching about worry, God's provision, and tomorrow. Matthew 6:34 — “Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.” Exodus 16 — God provides manna one day at a time, teaching Israel daily dependence. Psalm 56:3 — “When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.” Philippians 4:6–7 — Bringing anxiety to God through prayer, petition, and thanksgiving and receiving His peace. The Question to Ask Yourself This Week Am I responding to what's actually happening today…or am I living today in preparation for something that hasn't happened? Sometimes we've experienced so much difficulty that anticipating another problem feels like protection. But worrying about tomorrow doesn't make tomorrow easier. It can simply rob us of the peace, provision, relationships, laughter, ordinary moments, and goodness God has placed in front of us today. You don't have to create tomorrow's storm to justify today's peace. Receive the quiet. Receive the ordinary day. Receive today's manna. And trust God again tomorrow. Your Homework This Week Read Matthew 6:25–34 slowly and pay attention to the way Jesus uses creation to teach us about God's provision. Then listen to: “Like You Love Me” — Tauren Wells “Sparrows” — Cory Asbury Both beautifully echo the biblical imagery of God's care and provision. Then take this question to God: “Father, what am I carrying today that belongs to tomorrow?” When He brings something to mind, practice giving it back to Him. Walk It Out With God Learning to return my mind to today became an important part of my own healing journey. Sometimes that looks very practical: Get outside. Move your body. Get some fresh air and sunshine. Put away the distractions. Take one Scripture with you. And spend ten uninterrupted minutes talking with God. You don't need to solve the next six months during that walk. Just meet Him today. 10 minutes. One Step. One Scripture. One Day at a Time. That's -
EP 37 | Finding God When Healing Didn't Look the Way You Prayed 11.08.2026 29minFinding God When Healing Didn't Look the Way You Prayed What happens when you prayed for healing, believed God could heal, stood in faith...and still lost someone you love? How do you reconcile faith and grief when the answer to your prayer looks nothing like what you hoped for? And perhaps the hardest question: Where is God when the healing you prayed for doesn't happen? This is one of the most tender conversations we've had on Healing Through Scripture. In this episode, we're not trying to explain away loss with a quick Christian answer. We're not pretending grief doesn't hurt. And we're certainly not suggesting that if someone had prayed harder, believed more, or had stronger faith, the outcome would have been different. Instead, we're going directly to God's Word. Through the story of Lazarus in John 11, we'll look at Martha and Mary's heartbreaking words to Jesus: "Lord, if You had been here..." We'll see something remarkable in Jesus' response. He doesn't shame their questions. He doesn't rush their grief. Jesus weeps with them. We'll also explore what Scripture teaches about grieving with hope, unanswered prayer, biblical lament, praying for healing after loss, and trusting God's character when we don't understand His ways. Because faith doesn't mean pretending something doesn't hurt. Sometimes faith simply sounds like: "God, I don't understand this...but I'm bringing my broken heart to You." In This Episode We talk about: What to do when you prayed for healing and someone still died Why unanswered prayer doesn't necessarily mean you lacked faith Martha and Mary's response to Lazarus' death in John 11 Why "Jesus wept" matters so deeply when we're grieving Whether Christians are allowed to question God The biblical difference between grieving and grieving without hope What lament looks like in Scripture How to trust God when you don't understand what He allowed How to pray for healing again after experiencing a devastating loss What not to say to someone who's grieving How to comfort someone without trying to explain their suffering Why we don't have to manufacture answers God hasn't given us How resurrection changes the Christian understanding of death Practical ways to keep walking with God through grief Scriptures in This Episode John 11:1–44 — Lazarus, Martha, Mary and Jesus John 11:25 — "I am the resurrection and the life." John 11:35 — "Jesus wept." Psalm 34:18 — The Lord is close to the brokenhearted. 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18 — Grieving, but not without hope. Romans 12:15 — Mourn with those who mourn. Psalm 13 — Biblical lament and "How long, Lord?" Job — Trusting God when we don't receive a tidy explanation for suffering. Revelation 21:4 — The promise of a day with no more death, mourning, crying or pain. A Truth to Hold Onto You can have questions... and still have faith. You can grieve... and still trust God. You can believe God heals... and still be devastated when healing doesn't look the way you prayed. Biblical faith doesn't require us to deny our pain. It teaches us where to take it. If You're Grieving Right Now You don't need to figure out the rest of your life today. Maybe today's faithful step is simply: "Jesus, I don't understand. Please stay close." Tell God the truth. Let people help carry you. Stay near His Word, even if you can only hold onto one verse today. Don't turn your loss into guilt. And leave room for hope. Because for those who belong to Christ, grief is real... but so is resurrection. EP 36 | What Does the Bible Really Say About Food and Healing? How God Taught Me to Steward My Body During My Healing Journey 05.08.2026 27minWhat Does the Bible Really Say About Food and Healing? How God Taught Me to Steward My Body During My Healing Journey After a diagnosis, everyone seems to have an opinion. One person says, "Try this diet." Another recommends a supplement. Someone else insists there's only one right path. It can quickly become overwhelming. So how do we seek wisdom without becoming consumed by fear? In this episode of Healing Through Scripture, I'm sharing one of the most personal conversations I've had on the podcast, what God taught me about stewarding the body He entrusted to me during my own healing journey. This isn't an episode about finding the "perfect" diet or making medical claims. It's about learning to seek God's wisdom, partner with trusted medical professionals, care for our bodies with gratitude, and keep Jesus at the center of every decision. We'll explore what Scripture says about stewardship, renewing our minds, and honoring God with our bodies while remembering that our ultimate hope has never been in food, medicine, or our own efforts, but in Christ alone. A QUICK NOTE BEFORE YOU LISTEN This episode shares my personal experience and is not medical advice. Every health journey is unique, and every treatment plan should be discussed with your healthcare team. My prayer is simply to encourage you to seek wisdom, ask thoughtful questions, steward your health faithfully, and trust God through every season. IN THIS EPISODE My ovarian cancer diagnosis and what happened next Why the first thing I had to let go of wasn't sugar, it was fear What the Bible teaches about stewarding our bodies The difference between fear-driven decisions and wisdom-led decisions How I navigated conflicting health information Why renewing your mind is just as important as nourishing your body The practical changes I made during my healing journey Five biblical questions to help you steward your own health with wisdom and peace SCRIPTURES FEATURED Genesis 1:29 — God's provision through creation 1 Corinthians 6:19–20 — Honoring God with our bodies Romans 12:2 — Renewing our minds James 1:5 — Asking God for wisdom Proverbs 17:22 — A joyful heart is good medicine Matthew 6:34 — Trusting God one day at a time KEY TAKEAWAY Healing isn't about chasing perfection. It's about faithfully stewarding what God has entrusted to you. We may not control every outcome, but we can choose to seek wisdom, care for our bodies, renew our minds through Scripture, and trust God with the results. PRACTICAL APPLICATION This week, ask yourself: ✔️ Am I making health decisions from fear or from wisdom? ✔️ Am I spending more time consuming information than spending time with God? ✔️ What's one small step I can take to better steward the body God has given me? ✔️ Am I caring for my spiritual health as intentionally as my physical health? ✔️ How can I trust God with what I can't control while faithfully stewarding what I can? Remember... Healing often happens through daily faithfulness. One step. One Scripture. One day at a time. EP 35 | Have We Made Christianity Harder Than Jesus Did?: What Jesus Really Meant About Grace, Rules, and Rest 28.07.2026 26minHave you ever felt like no matter how hard you try, you're never doing enough? Reading your Bible...Praying...Serving...Trying to be a "good Christian"... Yet somehow, you still feel like you're falling short. What if following Jesus was never meant to feel that heavy? In this episode of Healing Through Scripture, we're diving into one of Jesus' most freeing teachings as we explore the difference between religion and relationship, performance and grace, and rules versus walking with Christ. We'll unpack Jesus' words in Matthew 23, where He confronted the religious leaders for placing heavy burdens on people, and then discover His beautiful invitation in Matthew 11:28–30 to come to Him and find true rest. If you've ever struggled with guilt, perfectionism, legalism, or feeling like you're never enough, this conversation will remind you that Jesus didn't come to add more burdens—He came to carry the ones you never could. IN THIS EPISODE Have we confused religion with a relationship with Jesus? What Jesus meant when He said, "My yoke is easy and My burden is light." Understanding the historical context of Matthew 23 and Matthew 11 Why performance-based faith leaves us exhausted The difference between conviction and guilt How Jesus perfectly balanced truth and grace Why Christianity was never meant to be about earning God's love Five practical questions to help you grow in your walk with Christ SCRIPTURES FEATURED Matthew 23:1–12 — Jesus Confronts Legalism Matthew 11:28–30 — Come to Me and Find Rest John 8:1–11 — The Woman Caught in Adultery Matthew 7:1–5 — Remove the Plank First Ephesians 2:8–9 — Saved by Grace Through Faith KEY TAKEAWAY Following Jesus was never meant to be about carrying heavier burdens. It was always meant to be about walking more closely with Him. Jesus didn't come to make faith harder. He came to make a relationship with the Father possible through grace. PRACTICAL APPLICATION This week, ask yourself: ✔️ Am I trying to earn something Jesus has already given me? ✔️ Am I carrying expectations that God never asked me to carry? ✔️ Does my faith draw me closer to Jesus—or leave me feeling like I'll never measure up? ✔️ Am I spending more time knowing about Jesus than actually spending time with Him? ✔️ What's one simple step I can take this week to grow my relationship with Christ? Remember... Healing often begins with one faithful decision. One step. One Scripture. One day at a time. MY FREE HEALING RESOURCE One of the questions I hear most often is: "What helped you during your healing journey?" The truth is, healing wasn't one big moment—it was a series of small, intentional decisions to keep turning back to God's Word every single day. Because of that, I've created a free Healing Journey Resource where I share the practical and biblical rhythms that helped me navigate one of the hardest seasons of my life. Whether you're walking through a health diagnosis, grief, anxiety, a waiting season, burnout, or simply longing to grow closer to God, my prayer is that this resource encourages you to take your next faithful step. 📩 You can download it for free through the link in my Beacon page. WALK IT OUT WITH GOD: 21 Day Scripture Walk One of the greatest lessons God taught me during my healing journey was that healing often happens in the daily rhythms of spending time with Him. That's why I created Walk It Out with God. It's a simple Scripture-based walking journey designed to help you slow down, open God's Word, pray intentionally, and spend time with the Lord while moving your body. It's not about fitness. It's about creating space to hear God's voice. Because some of the sweetest conversations I've ever had with God happened while simply taking a walk. EP 34 | Where Are You Building Your Peace? Finding Stability in an Unstable World 22.07.2026 26minThe world feels louder than ever. Every day brings another headline, another uncertainty, another reason to worry about tomorrow. Whether it's concerns about your health, finances, family, or simply the future, it can feel like peace is becoming harder and harder to find. But what if the problem isn't the storm? What if the real question is: Where are you building your peace? In this episode of Healing Through Scripture, we open Matthew 7 and unpack Jesus' powerful illustration of the wise and foolish builders. Together, we'll discover that Jesus never promised a storm-free life, but He did promise a foundation strong enough to withstand every storm. We'll also dive into Isaiah 26:3, exploring what it truly means to experience God's "perfect peace" and why biblical peace has never depended on perfect circumstances. If you've been feeling anxious about the future or overwhelmed by everything happening around you, this episode will remind you that while the world may be shaking, God never does. IN THIS EPISODE How to find peace in an uncertain world What the Bible says about fear and anxiety Why Christians can have peace even when life feels unstable Understanding Jesus' teaching about the wise and foolish builders Why storms reveal our foundation rather than create it The true meaning of Isaiah 26:3 How to stop building your peace on circumstances Five practical ways to strengthen your faith during difficult seasons Why God's Word is the strongest foundation you'll ever build on SCRIPTURES FEATURED Matthew 7:24–27 — The Wise and Foolish Builders Isaiah 26:3 — Perfect Peace Matthew 6:34 — Do Not Worry About Tomorrow Hebrews 13:8 — Jesus Christ Is the Same Yesterday, Today, and Forever Psalm 46:1–3 — God Is Our Refuge and Strength KEY TAKEAWAY Storms don't create our foundation. They reveal it. The question isn't whether storms will come. The question is: What have you been building your life on before the storm arrives? When our peace is built on circumstances, it rises and falls with every headline. When our peace is built on Christ, we can remain steady even when everything around us feels uncertain. PRACTICAL APPLICATION This week, ask yourself: ✔️ What has my peace been resting on lately? ✔️ Am I spending more time listening to fear than listening to God's Word? ✔️ What would change if I started each day with Scripture before the headlines? ✔️ Where can I intentionally trust God instead of trying to control tomorrow? ✔️ What's one faithful step I can take today? Remember... Healing often begins with one decision at a time. One step. One Scripture. One day at a time. WALK IT OUT WITH GOD One of the biggest lessons from this episode is that peace isn't found by controlling our circumstances. It's found by walking daily with Christ. That's exactly why I created the Walk It Out with God 21-Day Scripture Walk. EP | Healing When Life Hurts (Don't Build a Home in Your Pain) 01.07.2026 23minWhat God Is Producing in the Valley Why does God allow pain? How do you keep trusting God when life doesn't go the way you planned? And how do you move forward without letting your pain become your identity? In this episode of Healing Through Scripture, we continue our healing series by exploring one of the most universal questions of the Christian faith: What do we do with pain? Whether you're walking through a difficult diagnosis, heartbreak, disappointment, betrayal, financial hardship, or an unexpected season of waiting, this episode will encourage you to see your pain through the lens of Scripture. Together, we'll unpack Romans 5:3–5 and discover why the Bible says suffering produces perseverance, character, and hope, no because pain is good, but because God never wastes it. We'll also walk through John 19, looking at the suffering of Jesus and how He responded to unimaginable pain with forgiveness instead of bitterness. His example reminds us that we don't have to transmit our pain, we can allow God to transform it. If you've ever felt like you're living in a valley that will never end, this episode will remind you that valleys are places we walk through, not places we build a home. IN THIS EPISODE WE DISCUSS Why God allows pain and suffering What the Bible says about healing after hardship How to stop letting pain define your identity Why pain can become a place of spiritual growth The difference between transforming pain and transmitting it What Romans 5 teaches about perseverance, character, and hope How Jesus responded to betrayal, rejection, and suffering Why "Don't build a home in your pain" is a biblical mindset Practical ways to trust God during difficult seasons How daily choices lead to lasting healing SCRIPTURES MENTIONED Romans 5:3-5 John 19 Luke 23:34 Psalm 23 Matthew 6:34 KEY TRUTH FROM THIS EPISODE Pain is inevitable. But pain was never meant to become your permanent address. Don't build a house in your pain. Pitch a tent. God never promised we'd avoid the valleys, but He does promise to walk with us through them—and He is producing something beautiful even when we can't yet see it. PRACTICAL APPLICATION This week, ask yourself: ✔️ Am I pitching a tent in this season, or have I started building a house? ✔️ What is God producing in me through this hardship? ✔️ Am I transforming my pain or unintentionally transmitting it to those around me? ✔️ Where can I replace fear with God's promises? ✔️ What is one faithful step I can take today? Remember: Healing doesn't usually happen all at once. It happens one choice...one prayer...one Scripture...one step at a time. WALK IT OUT WITH GOD One of the biggest lessons from this episode is that healing is built through daily faithfulness. That's exactly why I created the Walk It Out with God 21-Day Scripture Walk. Born from my own healing journey, this guided experience combines: Daily Scripture Prayer prompts Reflection questions Intentional walks with God to help you slow down, renew your mind, and spend intentional time in God's presence. Because healing isn't about perfection. It's about consistently walking with Jesus. One Step. One Scripture. One Day at a Time. You can find the Walk It Out with God 21-Day Scripture Walk in my Beacon store. REFLECTION QUESTIONS What pain have I been treating as my permanent identity? Have I been building a house in my pain instead of trusting God to lead me through it? What might God be producing in me during this season? How has God remained faithful to me in previous valleys? What is one faithful step I can take today instead of worrying about tomorrow? EP 30 | Healing from a Victim Mindset (Choosing Your Future After Life Hurts You) 24.06.2026 22minWhat do you do when life doesn't go the way you planned? When the diagnosis comes. When the door closes. When the betrayal happens. When the dream falls apart. When you're handed circumstances you never asked for. In this episode of Healing Through Scripture, we continue our healing series by diving into a topic that affects every area of our lives: Mindset. More specifically, the choice we all face after life hurts us. Because while we don't get to choose everything that happens to us, we do get to choose what we do with it. Together, we'll explore how our thoughts shape our future, what Scripture teaches about renewing our minds, and why healing often begins with a decision to stop letting our past define our future. We'll unpack the story of the Israelites in the wilderness and discover how it was possible for them to be physically free while still thinking like slaves. We'll also look at Joseph's incredible journey through betrayal, injustice, and hardship and how he chose faith over bitterness. If you've ever struggled with: feeling stuck in life overcoming a victim mindset healing from emotional pain moving forward after a diagnosis healing from your past changing negative thought patterns trusting God after disappointment renewing your mind through Scripture finding purpose after hardship this episode is for you. IN THIS EPISODE WE DISCUSS What a victim mindset actually looks like Why life doesn't always feel fair How to stop letting your past define your future The difference between what happened to you and who you are Why renewing your mind is essential for healing The Israelites' wilderness journey and what it teaches us about identity How Joseph responded to betrayal and injustice The connection between your thoughts, beliefs, choices, and future Why healing often starts before circumstances change Practical biblical steps to move forward with hope SCRIPTURES MENTIONED Romans 12:2 Exodus Genesis 50:20 Isaiah 53:5 KEY TRUTH FROM THIS EPISODE What happened to you may not have been your choice. But healing is. You cannot always control your circumstances. You can control what you believe about them, how you respond to them, and who you become because of them. Your past may explain part of your story. It does not have to determine your future. PRACTICAL APPLICATION This week: ✔️ Identify the story you've been repeating about your life ✔️ Separate what happened to you from who you are ✔️ Replace limiting beliefs with God's truth ✔️ Focus on today's choice instead of tomorrow's worries ✔️ Take one intentional step forward, no matter how small ✔️ Speak life over your future instead of agreement with fear REFLECTION QUESTIONS What event or circumstance have I allowed to shape my identity? What story am I repeatedly telling myself about my future? Does that story align with what God says about me? What would change if I viewed this challenge as part of my testimony instead of my identity? What is one step God may be asking me to take today? WALK IT OUT WITH GOD This episode beautifully connects with the heart behind the Walk It Out with God 21-Day Scripture Walk. The program was created from a simple truth: Healing happens through daily choices. Not all at once. Not overnight. But one step, one Scripture, and one day at a time. Through guided Scripture, prayer prompts, reflection, and intentional walks with God, you'll begin creating space to hear His voice and strengthen your faith. EP 29 | Healing from Unforgiveness (When You Can't Let It Go) 17.06.2026 16minHealing from Unforgiveness (When You Can't Let It Go) Have you ever replayed a conversation over and over in your mind? Maybe someone betrayed you.Maybe they lied.Maybe they hurt you deeply and never apologized. You want to move forward, but somehow you're still carrying the weight of what happened. In this episode of Healing Through Scripture, we continue our healing series by talking about one of the most difficult, and most freeing, topics in the Christian life: Forgiveness. Not dismissing the hurt. Not pretending it didn't happen. Not allowing unhealthy behavior. But learning how to release a burden that was never yours to carry. Together, we'll explore what the Bible really says about forgiveness, why unforgiveness affects more than just our emotions, and how bitterness can quietly impact our peace, stress levels, relationships, and even our physical health.
