  • John 7:19-24 - Christ Heals the Whole Man 16.08.2026 39p
Jesus refers to the healing of the invalid in these verses. He does not simply heal a portion of the body, but the whole man. Jesus, with divine skill, speaks to the hearts of the crowd: “Do not judge by appearances, but judge with right judgment.” The correct judgment would lead them to believe that Jesus fulfills the Old Testament and is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. Christ does not simply heal one aspect of our lives, but provides redemption to the whole soul.
  • John 7:14-18 - The Son Loves to Glorify the Father 09.08.2026 31p
Jesus has come to Jerusalem for the Feast of Tabernacles. He arrives at the temple and begins to teach the people. Yet again, there are those who reject Him and His Father’s authority. The Lord Jesus desired throughout His entire life to bring glory to the Father, from His ministry to His death on the cross for our sins.
  • John 7:1-13 - The Two Times 03.08.2026 43p
Thus far in John’s Gospel, Jesus is a polarizing figure. The Jews, and their leaders, have complained about Him, argued with Him, and were seeking to kill Him. However, like the woman at the well and the royal official, there are those of Gentile descent who encounter Jesus and gladly receive Him. As Jesus will make clear, it is not His time; therefore, the world hates Him. The world is actively, not passively, against God and His Son, Jesus. Likewise, the world hates all those who belong to Him. Regardless, we have the hope of being secure in Christ forever, even if the world hates Him and us.
  • John 6:60-71 - Christ has the Words of Eternal Life 26.07.2026 44p
In John 6, the crowd, or “the Jews,” reveal their hard hearts towards Jesus as He speaks to the reality that He is the Bread of Life. He has with clarity claimed, “I AM.” Self-disclosed revelation that He is Yahweh incarnate. As the crowd rejects Jesus, we would expect that He would be welcomed by His disciples, but that is not the case. We will see in our passage that “many of his disciples turned back.” Here is a call to search our own hearts, as we can be easily self-deceived: “Am I like these disciples and Judas, or am I like the Eleven who will faithfully follow Christ Jesus all the days of my life?”
  • John 6:52-59 - Come, Feast Upon Jesus Christ 20.07.2026 38p
The greatest joy we will ever have is being in covenant with the Lord. We can only be in covenant with Him because of the substitutionary work of Jesus. We must never forget about the work of Christ Jesus on the cross. We must continually remind ourselves that Jesus freely and voluntarily gave His life as a sacrifice so that we would have life everlasting. Do we understand what happened at the cross, and do we give thanks to God for saving us from sin, condemnation, and eternal damnation? Praise yet our Christ again, Alleluia, Amen!
  • John 6:41-51 – Jesus is the True Exodus Who Redeems the Exiles 12.07.2026 44p
“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” These are the words of the Lord Jesus in Matthew 11:28. Jesus, as the Bread of Life who has come down from heaven, gives true satisfaction to the mind, heart, and soul. Those who do not feed upon Christ do not have forgiveness of sins, nor do they have a relationship with God. In Jesus, all the blessings and privileges of the covenant are given to God’s children. Come, feast upon Jesus and let your souls be filled with eternal life and everlasting joy.
  • John 6:22-40 - Jesus is the Bread of Life 05.07.2026 44p
“Taste and see that the Lord is good!” is David’s command in Psalm 34. Each day, we eat food that sustains our bodies, yet it is earthly and temporary. Our souls need everlasting food whereby our sins are forgiven, our broken relationship with God Almighty is reconciled, and we receive endless joy. This type of provision does not come from fruits, nor does it come from within us, nor does it come from the world. This nourishment can only be found in the Lord Jesus Christ, who is the true Bread of Life.
  • John 6:16-21 - Jesus, the Great I AM, Sovereignly Rules Over His Creation 28.06.2026 40p
Who is Jesus? This is the ultimate question that every person must ask. Furthermore, there is no getting around this question, for we will either answer this honestly in this life or on the day of judgment. As Jesus walks over the water, He is not merely bringing relief to His frightened disciples, though He certainly alleviates their fears. He is revealing that He is the Sovereign Creator over nature. Jesus is the great I AM.
  • John 6:1-15 - Jesus Feeds the Five Thousand 21.06.2026 41p
Jesus is depicted as the Great Prophet, the Davidic King, and the true Son of God who performs this sign. He is the One who feeds the soul perfectly and eternally. Do you know this satisfaction? Have you grown apathetic in enjoying Him? If so, run to Him and find Him to be worthy of your devotion once again.
  • Psalm 67 - As God's Face Shines upon us, Let us Call the Nations to Worship 15.06.2026 44p
We experience the despair of trials, thinking that we are entirely alone (Psalm 88), yet we keep in mind that God alone is our safe fortress (Psalm 46), we continually plead for Him to run us to Christ our Rock (Psalm 61), and we then declare, with gladness, for the nations to be glad and sing for joy because Christ is gracious to us, He has blessed us, and His face shines upon us (Psalm 67).
  • Psalm 61 - Lead me to Christ the Rock 07.06.2026 43p
“Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.” That verbiage, though spoken differently in various seasons, is the constant anthem of the believer’s heart. This chorale, a constant reminder that we need to run to Jesus, gives the Christian a hope that only they can experience, for there is no hope in the worldly. As we traverse this world, we have the promise that our Savior loves us, keeps us, and promises to bring us home.
  • Psalm 88 - Christ, The Anchor in the Midst of Darkness 31.05.2026 43p
Times of calamity, distress, and despair will, at times, overcome our souls, but throughout it all Christ remains our anchor, giving us the greatest assurance.
  • Psalm 46 - God, Our Great Refuge 24.05.2026 43p
Christ is in the midst of His church, defending and protecting her in times of trouble.
  • John 5:39-47 - The Scriptures and Moses Point to Jesus 10.05.2026 40p
The Scriptures, from Genesis to Revelation, point to Jesus Christ, the promised Messiah and the true Son of God.
  • John 5:30-38 - Bearing Witness of Jesus 04.05.2026 43p
The testimony of the Father, John the Baptist, and Jesus’s own works bear witness that Jesus truly is the Son of God.
  • John 5:25-29 - The Resurrection of Life and the Resurrection of Judgment 26.04.2026 46p
In the hour to come, we have the hope of the resurrection of life, and in the hour that has come, we have the comfort of salvation.
  • John 5:19-24 - Honoring the Son as the Father is Honored 19.04.2026 41p
Jesus, as the Son, is worthy of all of our worship, for He gives eternal life and issues divine judgment as the Great Judge.
  • John 5:1-18 - Jesus, the Merciful Son of God, is Lord of the Sabbath 12.04.2026 42p
Jesus, as the Son of God, calls all to repentance so that they might experience healing from sin’s power, escaping the great Day of Judgment.
  • Philippians 2:9-11 - The Glory of God in the Exaltation of Christ 05.04.2026 41p
The Father vindicates Jesus, so that Christ will be honored by all on the Last Day, for the ultimate purpose of the glory of God.
  • Isaiah 53:7-10 - The Glory of God in the Servant’s Suffering 02.04.2026 36p
Brad's sermon on Maundy Thursday. We remember that Jesus, our Jesus, was crucified for us. It was our sin that caused His death. He died the death that should have been ours. The Suffering Servant is the Great Man of Sorrows.
