Separation Anxiety is a five-part investigative podcast about Alberta’s fall referendum and the modern separatist movement behind it. Journalists Danielle Paradis and Tim Querengesser explore who the separatists are, what they want, and what independence could mean for the rest of Canada. The series traces the movement from its century-old roots through anti-lockdown protests, the trucker convoy, and recent political shifts. It also examines the movement’s ties to accusations of criminal treason and treaty-rights violations.
