Radio Sunderland for Hospitals is a registered charity run entirely by volunteers, providing a free bedside radio service to patients at Sunderland Royal Hospital and St Benedict's Hospice. On air since 1953, the station broadcasts music, entertainment, sports commentary of Sunderland AFC home matches, and patient request programmes 24 hours a day.
