Ep 100 | I Didn't Build This Business Just to Help You Lose Weight 18.09.2026 26minHey, you're here for Episode 100 of Strength for Generations. 100 episodes. 100 conversations about health, strength, faith, family, nutrition, movement, mindset, and what it actually looks like to build a healthier life. In this special episode, I'm celebrating with you and sharing a little about what these 100 episodes have meant to me. I'm also sharing why I built Baker Family Fitness and why I created Rooted in Health. Because this has never just been about helping you lose weight. If I helped you lose weight but you gained it all back, what did I actually help you build? If I gave you a meal plan but never taught you how to make wise decisions when life gets busy, did I really help you? If I gave you workouts but never helped you understand why strength matters, what happens when the plan ends? I believe health is about so much more than a number on the scale. It's about people. It's about families. It's about learning how to take responsibility for what you can control, becoming stronger, and teaching the people around you what you're learning. In this episode, I'm also sharing a very personal update about my recent hip surgery, what it has been like to suddenly need help with things I normally do myself, and what I'm learning about adjusting when life doesn't go according to plan. And because this is Episode 100, I have a special one-day-only gift for you. Ep 99 | You Were Never Taught How to Be Healthy — You Were Taught How to Treat Sick 16.09.2026 27minWhat if one of the biggest problems with our health isn't that we don't have access to healthcare? What if it's that we've never actually been taught how to build health? What if we stopped waiting for a diagnosis, a prescription, or someone else to tell us what to do and started learning how to become active participants in our own health? In this episode, I'm talking about the difference between healthcare and health education and why we need both. Healthcare can diagnose, treat, manage, intervene, and sometimes save lives. But your health is lived out in your everyday life. It's in your kitchen. It's in how you move. It's in how you sleep. It's in the questions you ask. It's in the choices you make when no doctor is standing beside you. We also talk honestly about where the healthcare system can fail people, why that doesn't mean we should become cynical about healthcare professionals, and how we can learn to become better advocates for ourselves. Because when the system fails you, you don't have to become powerless. You can become more educated. You can ask better questions. You can seek wise counsel. You can take responsibility for the things that are within your control. And you can trust God with the things that aren't. If you've ever felt confused by conflicting health information, frustrated because you don't know who to trust, or tired of jumping from one solution to another, this episode is for you. You don't need more shame. You need education. 🌱 READY TO BUILD HEALTH THAT LASTS? Ep 98 | You Can't Love Others When You Don't Even Like Yourself 14.09.2026 30minWhat if the way you talk to yourself is affecting the way you care for your health? Could you be so focused on loving and serving everyone else that you've quietly decided your own health doesn't matter? What if taking care of your health isn't about vanity or weight loss at all, but about stewardship and becoming the example you want the next generation to follow? We talk a lot about loving our spouse, our children, our neighbors, and the people around us. But what does it look like to actually value the life God has entrusted to you? In this episode, I'm talking about the difference between selflessness and self-neglect, why the way you speak to yourself matters, and how your health can become an act of stewardship rather than punishment. We also talk about what your children are learning by watching how you treat your body, your health, your time, and your commitments. Because your family doesn't just learn from what you tell them. They learn from what you model. If you've spent years putting yourself last, waiting until life slows down, criticizing your body, or jumping from one health plan to another, this episode is an invitation to stop and look at what is really going on. Your health matters because your life matters. And you can start with one act of stewardship today. 🌱 READY TO BUILD HEALTH THAT LASTS? Ep 96 | Why Your Health Matters To God: The Missing Piece In Your Wellness Journey 09.09.2026 20minWhat if your health isn’t just about you, but about the people God has placed in your life? What if taking care of your body isn’t about looking better, but becoming a stronger, more capable leader for your family, church, clients, and community? Could the missing piece in your wellness journey be understanding that your health is something God entrusted to you—not another performance standard? Your health matters to God because you have been entrusted with people, purpose, time, gifts, and influence. In this episode, we’re talking about biblical stewardship and what it actually means when it comes to your health. Your body, your energy, your strength, and your capacity to show up for the people God has placed in your life all matter. We’ll talk about the difference between sacrifice and self-neglect, why being needed doesn’t mean you have to destroy yourself, and how your health affects the way you lead and serve. We’ll also talk about what your kids are learning by watching you. They’re watching how you handle stress, how you talk about your body, how you approach food and movement, and whether you keep the promises you make to yourself. And we’ll talk about why health should never become another Christian performance checklist. God isn’t asking you to do everything perfectly. He’s asking you to faithfully steward what He has already placed in your hands. 🎧 Listen to the full episode and start looking at your health through the lens of stewardship, leadership, and legacy. Ep 95 | Why Losing Weight Starts With More Than Food And Exercise 07.09.2026 24minWhat if losing weight has less to do with finding the perfect diet and more to do with understanding why you keep starting over? What if the problem isn't that you don't know what to eat or how to exercise, but that your environment, habits, and identity are working against you? Could changing the way you see yourself—and the example you set for your kids—be the missing piece to finally building health that lasts? Losing weight starts with more than food and exercise. In this episode, I'm sharing why lasting weight loss requires more than another diet, workout plan, or meal plan. We're talking about your WHY, your environment, your identity, your daily habits, and the patterns that keep you stuck in the cycle of starting over. You'll learn why one imperfect meal doesn't ruin your progress, how to make healthy choices easier, and why consistency matters more than trying to overhaul your entire life overnight. We'll also talk about something I believe is even bigger than your own health journey: what your children are learning by watching you. Because you're not just changing yourself. Ep 94 | Strength Training, Nutrition, And Healthy Habits: The Foundation Every Family Needs 04.09.2026 24minWhat if the reason your family struggles to stay healthy isn’t because you don’t know what to do, but because you’re trying to do too much? What if the perfect meal plan, perfect workout, and perfect schedule are actually making it harder for your family to stay consistent? Could the foundation your family needs this fall be much simpler than you think? In this episode, I’m sharing why strength training, simple nutrition, and healthy habits are the foundation every family needs so you can build a healthier lifestyle that actually fits into your busy family’s real life. Your family doesn’t need perfection. Your kids are watching what you do, learning from how you handle stress, seeing whether you make time for movement, and watching how you talk about food, your body, and your health. I’m breaking down practical ways to make health part of your family’s everyday life without turning it into another overwhelming list of things you have to do. We’re talking about using your kids’ sports practices as opportunities to move, simplifying family meals, teaching your kids how to make food choices, reducing decision fatigue, and planning ahead before the fall schedule takes over. Ep 93 | Kristen Phillips: How Family Health Impacts Teen Anxiety And Wellbeing 02.09.2026 47minWhat if your teen saying “I’m fine” is actually a sign that something deeper is going on? Could the way you’re trying to help your anxious teen actually be adding more pressure without you realizing it? How do you help your teenager build confidence, manage anxious thoughts, and find their identity in Christ without making faith feel like another expectation? In this episode, I’m talking with Kristen Phillips, a high school counselor and teen anxiety coach who helps teen girls break free from anxiety, perfectionism, and people pleasing while learning that their worth comes from God, not their performance. Kristen knows this struggle personally. As a teenager, she was a high achiever who played sports, had friends, performed in school plays, and graduated as salutatorian. But underneath the success, she constantly questioned whether she was enough. Today, she uses both her personal experience and professional background to help teen girls navigate anxiety, comparison, perfectionism, people pleasing, and the pressure to fit in. Her podcast, Anxious Christian Teen, reaches hundreds of girls every week and is ranked in the top 3% globally. Her mission is simple. To help create a less anxious generation, one girl at a time. We talk about what anxiety actually looks like in teenagers, how parents can recognize warning signs, the impact of social media and comparison, and why high-achieving girls can struggle so much with feeling like they are never enough. Kristen also shares one of the biggest mistakes parents make when trying to help an anxious teen. We talk about why listening needs to come before fixing, what to do when your teen won’t open up, and how to create a safe space where they feel comfortable talking to you. And because this is Strength for Generations, we also talk about faith. How do we point our kids toward Jesus without making faith feel like another thing they have to perform? How do we help them understand that their identity isn't found in their grades, appearance, friendships, athletic performance, or what other people think? Their identity is found in Christ. This is an honest, practical conversation for parents who want to help their kids become stronger mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and physically. Meet Kristen Phillips: Kristen Phillips is a high school counselor and teen anxiety coach who helps Christian teen girls overcome anxiety, perfectionism, and people pleasing. She understands the struggle because she lived it herself. Her passion is helping girls recognize their worth comes from God rather than their performance and giving them practical tools they can use in everyday life. Kristen is also the host of the Anxious Christian Teen podcast, which reaches hundreds of girls every week and ranks in the top 3% globally. Ep 92 | Rooted in Health: The Next Chapter of Baker Family Fitness 31.08.2026 27minWhat if the reason you keep starting over with your health is because you were never taught how to build a foundation that works for real life? What if your health journey could include your faith, your family, your nutrition, your movement, and your strength instead of another diet you can't stick to? What would change if you stopped chasing quick fixes and started building health that could actually be passed down to your family? In this episode, I'm finally introducing you to something I've been working on behind the scenes for a long time: Rooted in Health. Rooted in Health was created for families who are tired of starting over and want to learn how to build health that actually lasts. We're going back to the basics of nutrition, movement, strength, lifestyle, faith, family, and education. You'll learn why these foundations matter, how to apply them to real life, and how to build habits that can survive busy schedules, vacations, birthdays, stressful seasons, and everything else life throws at you. This isn't about building your health around motivation, the scale, or the newest diet. It's about building strong roots so you and your family can grow stronger for generations. Rooted in Health is a six-month program designed to help you build your foundation layer by layer. New material is released every two weeks so you have time to learn, apply, practice, and build on what you've learned instead of being overwhelmed with everything at once. You'll also have access to education, community, live calls, monthly training plans, beginner and advanced workout options, and family-focused resources. The bigger vision is to help Christian families learn how to take responsibility for their health while keeping Christ at the center. Because health isn't about vanity. Your worth isn't determined by your weight. And you don't have to hate your body into changing it. It's about learning how to steward the body God has entrusted to you. Ep 91 | Why Quick Fixes Don’t Help You Lose Weight: The Real Way To Create Change 28.08.2026 22minHave you ever lost weight only to gain it back, and could the problem be that you were never taught how to maintain the results? What if lasting weight loss has less to do with finding the perfect diet and more to do with building habits you can actually live with? Could the way you think about your body, your health, and your faith be the missing piece in finally breaking the cycle of starting over? Losing weight isn't the same thing as becoming healthy. In this episode, I'm sharing five practical steps to help you stop chasing quick fixes and start building the habits, discipline, strength, and mindset that create lasting change. We’re looking at weight loss through a biblical lens and talking about what it means to become a better steward of the body God has given you. You’ll learn how to change the reason you want to lose weight, stop depending on motivation, build simple and satisfying meals, make strength training a priority, and renew your mind through faith. In this episode, I’m joined by Jennifer Fugo, a clinical nutritionist, licensed dietitian, certified nutrition specialist, and the creator of Skin Rash Rebuild. Jennifer and I go far beyond skincare. We talk about chronic skin conditions, histamine, the gut, the liver, inflammation, nutrition, advocating for yourself, and why your body should be looked at as a whole. We also have a deeply meaningful conversation about faith. Jennifer shares her story of finding her way back to God, being baptized, and discovering what it means to live in alignment with God's will. We talk about how God can take the hardest seasons of our lives and use them for something we never could have imagined. And we talk about something I really want you to remember. Ep 89 | Why Eating Less Isn’t Helping You Lose Weight: The Nutrition Truth You Need To Know 24.08.2026 30minWhat if eating less isn’t actually the answer you need to lose weight? What if constantly cutting calories, skipping meals, and trying to eat as little as possible is actually keeping you stuck? Could the real problem be that you’ve spent so long trying to make your body smaller that you’ve forgotten how to actually fuel it, build muscle, and become stronger? If you’ve been dieting for years and still feel like you’re fighting your body, this conversation is for you. In this episode, I’m breaking down why eating less isn’t automatically better, what can happen when you spend too much time in a calorie deficit, and why learning what your body actually needs matters more than constantly chasing a smaller number on the scale. We’ll talk about reverse dieting, intermittent fasting, carb backloading, calorie cycling, TDEE, protein, strength training, and how to use these strategies without making nutrition more complicated than it needs to be. Because these are tools. They are not magic. And you do not need every strategy to become healthy. The foundation still matters most. Ep 87 | The Systems That Create Peace in Your Home and Business with Chelsi Jo Moore 19.08.2026 55minWhat if the reason you feel overwhelmed isn't because you're bad at managing your time, but because you don't have a system that actually supports your life? What if the constant miscommunication, unfinished tasks, and feeling like you're carrying everything at home could change by simply creating more intentional systems? Could creating more structure in your home actually give you more time and capacity for your marriage, your kids, your health, your faith, and the work God has called you to do? In this conversation, I'm joined by Chelsi Jo Moore, a wife, mom, entrepreneur, creator of Systemize to Scale, and host of the Systemize Your Life podcast. Ep 82 | The Truth About Strength Training: Why It Matters More Than Just Building Muscle 07.08.2026 11minWhat if strength training has almost nothing to do with how you look and everything to do with how you live? What if getting stronger today could help you stay independent, play with your grandchildren, travel, serve your family, and keep doing the things you love for years to come? Could strength training be the missing piece if you’ve spent years doing cardio, eating less, and trying to shrink your body but still don’t feel strong? In this episode of Strength for Generations, we’re talking about the truth about strength training and why it matters for so much more than building muscle. Strength isn’t just about appearance. It’s about building a body that allows you to live the life you want to live. We’re talking about what happens to our bodies as we age, why muscle matters, why women don’t need to be afraid of getting “bulky,” why men need strength training too, and why cardio alone isn’t enough. You’ll also learn why challenging your body, eating enough to support your goals, getting enough protein, recovering well, and getting quality sleep all matter when you’re trying to become stronger. Most importantly, you’ll learn how to stop thinking about strength as something you build just for your appearance and start seeing it as something you build for life. The question isn’t simply, “Do I want to lift weights?” The bigger question is, “Do I want to build a body that can carry the life God has called me to live?” Because strength isn’t just for today. Strength is for generations. -
Ep 81 | Why I Created the Move Mountains Method (And Why It's Different Than Every Other Free Health Guide) 05.08.2026 13minWhat if the free health guide you've been searching for isn't another meal plan or workout calendar? Could the reason you're still feeling stuck be that you've collected information—but never built a foundation? What if your health journey started with your purpose instead of your weight? In this episode, I'm sharing why I created the Move Mountains Method and why it's unlike any other free health guide I've ever offered. After coaching hundreds of people, I realized the problem isn't a lack of information—it's a lack of clarity, structure, and a faith-filled foundation. I'll walk you through each day of this free 5-day training and show you how it can help you build strength, energy, and lasting health by honoring God with the body He's given you.
