He specializes in adapting MI for the challenges they encounter every day. His approach integrates MI with behavioral science, change management, adult learning principles, and evidence-driven communication methods. Jeff has trained thousands of professionals in healthcare, human services, and mission-driven organizations in using MI to engage people who may be skeptical, disengaged, or experiencing change fatigue. Clients include the State of Illinois, the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, the University of Nebraska Medical Center, MIT, and the Institute for Healthcare Delivery Design. Jeff is a board member of Motivational Interviewing in Leadership and Organizations (MILO), a faculty member with the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI), a Prosci Certified Change Practitioner, and a member of the MI Network of Trainers (MINT).
