  • How Belinda lost and maintained 15kgs as a busy nurse 21.09.2026 23min
Have you ever felt like losing weight would be impossible with your busy lifestyle? You know you want to feel healthier and more comfortable in your body, but between work, family, social commitments and everything else on your plate, finding the time and energy to focus on yourself can feel impossible. If this sounds familiar, today's episode is one you don't want to miss.In this episode, I’m joined by my client Belinda, a busy registered nurse who worked with me for around 15 months inside my signature program and Momentum. When Belinda first reached out to me, she had already tried a number of different approaches to weight loss, including keto, low-carb diets, seeing a dietician and even using Ozempic for a short period of time. But what she really wanted wasn’t another diet. She wanted to change her mindset, improve her relationship with food and finally find an approach that could work with her busy lifestyle. And during our time together, Belinda lost 15kg.But as we chat about in this episode, the number on the scales is only one part of her transformation. Her relationship with food, her understanding of her body's hunger and fullness cues, her confidence and the way she approaches her health all changed along the way.In this episode, we talk about:Belinda’s experience of trying different diets and why they didn't give her the long-term results she wantedWhy mindset was one of her biggest priorities from the very beginningHow she made healthy eating work around a busy nursing career and unpredictable scheduleThe difference between simply knowing what healthy eating is and understanding how to eat in a way that supports your goalsHow learning to recognise hunger, fullness and her body's needs changed the way she ateHow Belinda completely transformed her relationship with food and stopped labelling foods as “good” or “bad”How she learned to enjoy foods she loves, including chocolate, without feeling guilty or restrictedWhy sitting down and actually enjoying your food can make such a differenceThe importance of creating habits and strategies that fit into your real lifeThe non-scale wins that came with her transformationWhat Belinda would tell another busy woman who feels like she doesn't have the time to prioritise herselfOne of my favourite parts of this conversation is hearing Belinda talk about how her relationship with food has changed. She hasn't had to remove the foods she loves or follow a perfect diet. Instead, she has learned how to incorporate the foods she enjoys while also creating meals that leave her feeling satisfied. And this is exactly what I want more women to understand. You don't need another restrictive diet. You need skills, habits and a mindset that you can actually maintain when life gets busy.As I've shared throughout the podcast, sustainable weight loss isn't about completely stopping your life or waiting for the “perfect” time to start. It's about learning how to make your health work alongside your life.If you've tried diet after diet and you're tired of starting over, I hope Belinda's story reminds you that there is another way.You can work towards your goals while still enjoying food, your social life and your busy lifestyle. And most importantly, the goal isn't just to lose the weight. It's to become the woman who knows how to maintain those results without obsessing over food, exercise or the scales.Ready to create your own transformation? If you're a busy professional woman who wants personalised support, accountability and a strategy that works around your lifestyle, I'd love to help you.Apply for coaching: HEREFollow Angela on Instagram: HEREJoin our FREE Facebook community for busy professional women: HERE
  • 10 lies you're telling yourself that are keeping you stuck with your weight 14.09.2026 19min
Have you been trying to lose weight for months, years, or maybe even decades, and feel like you're doing everything right but nothing seems to stick? If that sounds familiar, this episode is your reality check.Because sometimes the thing keeping you stuck has nothing to do with food or exercise. It can be the stories you keep telling yourself. And the stories we repeat eventually become beliefs, and our beliefs influence our actions. In this episode, I’m breaking down 10 common lies or beliefs that might be keeping you stuck with your weight and, more importantly, what I want you to start thinking about instead. Here’s what I cover:“I just need more willpower.” Why you don't need more discipline, you need a plan that actually fits your life.“I need to eat less.” Why undereating during the day can leave you ravenous at night and make healthy eating much harder.“I don't have time.” Why waiting for life to magically become less busy isn't the answer, and how to work with the time you already have.“My hormones are broken.” Why hormones absolutely matter, especially as we get older, but why I don't want you assuming there's nothing within your control.“I have to cut out carbs, wine or chocolate.” Why making your favourite foods the villain can create an all-or-nothing relationship with food.“I need to exercise harder.” Why more exercise isn't automatically better and why your movement should support your lifestyle rather than exhaust you.“I'll start on Monday.” Why constantly waiting for the perfect time keeps you stuck in the cycle of starting over.“I've already ruined today, so I may as well keep eating.” Why one choice doesn't have to turn into an entire day of overeating.“I know what to do, I just need to try harder.” Why knowing what to do isn't always the problem — creating habits you can actually sustain is.“This is just how I am.” Why your current habits and behaviours don't have to define your future.I also share some of my own experiences because, trust me, I've been there. For years I thought the answer was another diet, more restriction, more exercise or simply trying harder. Eventually I realised that the real transformation came from changing the way I approached food, movement, habits and, most importantly, my mindset. This is exactly why I’m so passionate about helping busy, high-achieving women create a lifestyle that supports their goals without tracking calories, restricting themselves or spending hours in the gym or kitchen. If you recognised yourself in even ONE of these beliefs, don't beat yourself up.Awareness is where change starts.Instead of asking yourself, “What's wrong with me?”, I want you to start asking:“What story am I telling myself that might be keeping me stuck?”And then ask yourself:“What can I actually change from here?”You don't need to overhaul your entire life overnight. You need to start creating habits that work with your actual life, and that you can continue even when life gets busy.If you enjoyed this episode and found it valuable, please share it with a friend who needs to hear this too. And if you have a few seconds, I'd love for you to leave the show a review on Apple Podcasts or Spotify. It helps me reach more women who need this message.Ready to get support? If you're tired of starting over and want personalised guidance, accountability and support to help you lose weight while creating habits and a lifestyle you can actually maintain:Apply for coaching: HEREFollow Angela on Instagram: HEREJoin our FREE Facebook community for busy professional women: HERE
  • My hot take on GLP-1s: what’s your plan for the next 10 years? 07.09.2026 18min
GLP-1 weight loss medications are everywhere right now, and I know there are a lot of women wondering whether they should consider them, whether they actually work, and most importantly, what happens when you eventually stop taking them.In this episode, I’m sharing my honest take on GLP-1 medications and why I believe the most important conversation isn’t just “How much weight can I lose?” but “What is my long-term plan?”I want to be really clear from the beginning: I’m not anti-GLP-1 and I’m not here to tell you whether you should or shouldn’t take medication. That’s a conversation for you and your doctor based on your individual circumstances, health, risks and benefits. For some people, medication may absolutely be an appropriate part of their long-term medical treatment. But regardless of whether you’re taking a GLP-1 temporarily or long term, I believe the habits and skills you build alongside it still matter. In this episode, I talk about:Why I believe weight loss and weight maintenance need to be part of the conversation from day oneWhat can happen when people discontinue GLP-1 medications and why this doesn’t mean the medication or the person has “failed”Why relying solely on medication can leave you without the skills you need to maintain your resultsThe importance of learning how to nourish yourself when your appetite is reducedWhy protein, nutrient-dense foods, meal structure, movement, sleep and stress management still matterHow to prepare for real-life situations like stressful work weeks, travel, restaurants, Christmas and social eventsWhy your habits need to work in your actual life, not your perfect dream lifeHow to use the time while taking medication as an opportunity to build sustainable habitsWhy GLP-1 medication and a healthy lifestyle don’t have to compete with each otherThe question I want you to ask yourself: “What does my life look like after I’ve lost this weight?”I also share why I think it’s so important not to wait until you’ve reached your goal weight before thinking about maintenance.Whether you stay on medication long term or eventually want to come off it, the goal is to build a lifestyle where you feel nourished, strong, confident and in control around food.Because ultimately, medication can be a tool to support weight loss — but the skills you build are what can support you for the long term. And if you’re currently taking a GLP-1 and your appetite has changed significantly or you’re struggling to eat enough or nourish yourself properly, please make sure you’re working with the appropriate healthcare professionals. My biggest takeaway for you today: don’t just have a weight-loss plan. Have a long-term plan.Ask yourself: What am I learning while I’m losing the weight that will help me maintain it?And if you know someone who is taking a GLP-1 or considering one, send her this episode — not to scare her or tell her what decision to make, but to get her thinking about the question that really matters:“What is my long-term plan?”Apply for coaching: HEREFollow Angela on Instagram: HEREJoin our FREE Facebook community for busy professional women: HERE
  • You don't have a weight loss problem. You have a maintenance problem. 31.08.2026 17min
If you’ve lost weight before only to find yourself gaining it back again, I want you to know something: you don’t necessarily have a weight loss problem. You have a maintenance problem. In this episode, I’m challenging the way you may have been thinking about weight loss for years and sharing why losing the weight is often not the hardest part. The real challenge is creating habits and a lifestyle that allow you to maintain those results without constantly dieting.I know this personally because I spent years losing and regaining weight. I was very good at losing weight, but the methods I was using weren’t sustainable. I was tracking everything I ate, obsessing over food and exercising excessively. I was smaller, but I couldn’t realistically live that way forever. And that’s the question I want you to start asking yourself:“Can I realistically keep doing this after I’ve lost the weight?”Because how you lose the weight should teach you how to maintain it.In this episode, I’m sharing:Why repeatedly losing and regaining the same weight may actually be a maintenance problem, not a weight loss problem. Why the habits you use during your weight loss journey need to be habits you can realistically continue long term. How relying on restriction can make it difficult to maintain your results when real life inevitably gets in the way.Why calorie tracking can create awareness but shouldn’t have to become something you depend on forever. How perfectionism and the “all or nothing” mentality can keep high-achieving women stuck in the cycle of being “perfect” Monday to Friday and then giving up after one imperfect day.Why consistency is more important than perfection when it comes to sustainable results. How to become comfortable living in the grey area rather than constantly bouncing between being completely “on” and completely “off”.Why an imperfect meal, overeating occasionally or missing a workout doesn’t mean you’ve ruined your progress. The mindset shift that can help you stop starting over every Monday and instead learn how to simply continue.I want you to remember that maintenance isn’t about being perfect. It doesn’t mean you’ll never overeat, never have an unbalanced meal or never miss a workout. It means that when life happens, you know how to get back to your normal habits without turning one imperfect day into weeks of being “off track.”That is the skill I want you to build.Because your goal shouldn’t simply be to become someone who can lose weight. Your goal should be to become someone who knows how to maintain her results while actually living her life.If you’ve been stuck in the cycle of losing and regaining the same kilos, I hope this episode gives you a completely different perspective on what needs to change. And if you found this episode helpful, share it with a woman who needs to hear this too. ❤️Ready for support? If you’re looking for personalised guidance, accountability and support to help you lose weight without tracking, restricting or spending hours in the kitchen and gym, you can apply for coaching below.Apply for coaching: HEREFollow Angela on Instagram: HEREJoin our FREE Facebook community for busy professional women: HERE
  • 5 five-minute habits that keep you on track even on crazy-busy days 24.08.2026 23min
If you’re a busy woman with a demanding job, a business, kids, deadlines and a never-ending to-do list, you probably know exactly what it feels like to say, “I know what I need to do… I just don’t have the time to do it.”I get it. I’ve been there too.But here’s what I want you to take away from this episode: you don’t need another hour in your calendar to start looking after yourself.Instead of waiting for life to calm down, I want you to learn how to build healthy habits that actually work within your busy lifestyle. Just like I’ve shared in previous episodes, planning, organisation and creating simple routines are key to making healthy habits sustainable. In this episode, I’m sharing five simple habits that take around five minutes and can help you stay on track, even when your week feels completely hectic. Here’s what I cover:1. Take five minutes to regulate your nervous system2. Take five minutes to meal plan your week3. Use five minutes to get organised4. Use five minutes to add more movement to your day5. Take five minutes to prepare for tomorrowI don't want you waiting for the perfect week, the perfect Monday or a quieter period at work before you start looking after yourself. There is never going to be a completely empty calendar. What I want you to do instead is find small pockets of time that already exist in your day and use them intentionally.I've seen again and again that sustainable weight loss isn't about following a perfect plan. It's about creating habits, routines and a mindset that you can actually maintain when real life happens. So if you're feeling overwhelmed because you think getting healthy is going to require hours in the kitchen, hours at the gym and another huge task on your to-do list, I want you to rethink that.Start with five minutes.Five minutes can be enough to create a pause, make a plan and make the next healthy choice a little easier. If this episode resonated with you, share it with another busy woman who needs to hear that she doesn't need more time — she needs habits that fit the life she's already living.Apply for coaching: HEREFollow Angela on Instagram: HEREJoin our FREE Facebook community for busy professional women: HERE

Have you ever felt like you know exactly what you should be doing to lose weight... but life keeps getting in the way?In this Ask Me Anything episode, I'm answering five of the most common questions I receive from busy women who are trying to lose weight without sacrificing family time, giving up their favorite foods, or constantly starting over every Monday. If you've ever struggled with consistency, wondered why your body isn't responding the way it used to, or felt frustrated because you're eating "healthy" but still not seeing results, this episode is for you.In this episode, I discuss:Why consistency isn't about having more willpower, it's about creating better systems. My simple 1-1-3 meal planning method that makes healthy eating easier, even during busy weeks. Why you never need to cook separate meals for yourself and your family to lose weight. How portion control allows you to enjoy foods like pasta, bread, and family favorites while still making progress. Why weight loss becomes more challenging after 35, including the role of cortisol, estrogen, insulin, and muscle mass. The difference between eating healthy and eating for fat loss. Why knowing what to do isn't enough and how to identify the real reason you're struggling with consistency. Why solving emotional eating, stress, and burnout is often more important than finding another meal plan or healthy recipe.Key TakeawaysHealthy eating doesn't have to be complicated. The more you simplify your approach and prepare ahead of time, the easier it becomes to stay consistent.Weight loss shouldn't require restriction or separate meals. Learning how to portion your meals properly allows you to enjoy the foods you love while still reaching your goals. If you're over 35, your body has changed and your strategy needs to change with it. Understanding your hormones, protecting your muscle mass, and managing stress can make a significant difference. Finally, if you keep starting over every Monday, remember this: you're not broken, and you don't lack motivation. Most of the time, you're simply trying to solve the wrong problem. Once you identify what's really holding you back, consistency becomes much easier.Mentioned in this episodeEpisode 120: Why You Know What to Do But Can't Stay ConsistentLinksApply for coaching: HEREFollow Angela on Instagram: HERE

  • 8 ways to drop weight without changing what you eat 29.06.2026 22min
In today’s episode, I share something that might surprise you — you can absolutely lose weight without changing your actual food choices. Instead of focusing only on what you eat, I want you to start looking at the habits and behaviours around food that are often the real reason you feel stuck. Before we dive in, I also take you through a short mindset primer to help you shift the way you think about weight loss. Because from my experience, lasting change always starts in your mindset, not just your meal plan.Episode OverviewMost women I work with already know what healthy eating looks like. The real challenge isn’t knowledge — it’s consistency, behaviour, and the small daily habits that influence hunger, cravings, and food choices. In this episode, I break down how things like sleep, stress, eating speed, and even how distracted you are while eating can completely change your results — without changing your diet at all.If you’ve been doing “everything right” but still not seeing progress, this episode will help you understand why.Key Mindset ShiftOne of the biggest takeaways from this episode is this:Instead of asking “What should I eat?” or “What should I cut out?”Start asking: “What behaviours are affecting how I eat?”Because weight loss isn’t just about food — it’s about the environment, habits, and routines around your food choices.8 Ways to Lose Weight Without Changing Your FoodHere are the core strategies I walked you through in this episode:1. Slow down when you eatYour brain needs time to register fullness. When you slow down, you naturally eat less without changing your meals.2. Prioritise your sleepPoor sleep increases hunger, cravings, and emotional eating. It also makes healthy choices feel much harder.3. Drink more waterA lot of “hunger” is actually dehydration. Staying hydrated can reduce snacking and improve energy levels.4. Walk moreYou don’t need extreme workouts. Increasing daily steps and movement has a huge impact on fat loss and stress levels.5. Stop skipping mealsSkipping meals often leads to overeating later in the day. Regular eating helps regulate appetite and cravings.6. Manage stress betterStress eating is real. Building tools like walking, journaling, or taking breaks helps reduce emotional reliance on food.7. Eat without distractionsWhen you’re scrolling, working, or watching TV, you eat more without noticing. Being present with your meals changes everything.8. Plan your weekPlanning removes decision fatigue. When you know what your week looks like, you’re far more consistent — even on busy days. What I Want You to RememberWeight loss doesn’t always require a complete diet overhaul.Sometimes the biggest transformation comes from:slowing downsleeping bettermoving morereducing stressand becoming more intentional with your daily habitsThese small changes compound into real, sustainable results.Instead of trying to do everything at once, I encourage you to pick just one habit from today’s episode and focus on it consistently this week. That’s how real, lasting change happens.Final ThoughtsIf you’ve been feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or like nothing is working — I want you to know there is nothing wrong with you. It often just means you’ve been focusing on the wrong lever.Start with your habits. Start with your mindset. And keep things simple.I’ll see you next week for a new episode of The Healthy Diary Podcast.LinksApply for coaching: HEREFollow Angela on Instagram: HERE
  • 6 eating habits that naturally lean people swear by 22.06.2026 27min
Have you ever looked at someone who seems to maintain their weight effortlessly and thought, “They’re just lucky”?In this episode, I challenge that belief and show you why naturally lean women aren’t relying on better genetics, more willpower, or a magical metabolism. Instead, they’ve developed a set of habits and beliefs that make healthy eating feel automatic.I also introduce a brand-new segment to the podcast: the Two-Minute Mindset Primer. Because after helping hundreds of women lose weight, I’ve learned that what keeps most women stuck isn’t the food, it’s the way they think about food, weight loss, and themselves. If you’ve spent years dieting, starting over every Monday, and searching for the perfect meal plan, this episode will help you shift your focus from temporary actions to long-term identity change. In this episode, I cover:Why lasting weight loss starts with changing your identity, not finding the perfect dietThe biggest misconception women have about naturally lean peopleWhy naturally lean women don’t diet—and what they do insteadHow reconnecting with your hunger and fullness cues can completely transform your relationship with foodThe role protein, whole foods, and balanced meals play in reducing cravings and supporting weight lossWhy simple eating structures and routines make healthy eating easier for busy womenHow emotional eating keeps many women stuck and what naturally lean women do differentlyThe reason naturally lean women never “start over” after a bad meal, weekend, or holidayKey TakeawayNaturally lean women aren't special, lucky, or genetically gifted. They've simply developed habits, behaviours, and beliefs that support their health consistently over time. The goal isn’t to copy their habits for a few weeks. The goal is to become the type of woman who naturally does these things without relying on motivation, perfection, or willpower.Because lasting weight loss isn't about acting like a naturally lean person for 30 days. It's about becoming one.Resources & LinksApply for coaching: HEREFollow Angela on Instagram: HERE

  • So you’ve gained weight back… here's what to do now 25.05.2026 25min
In this episode, I dive into something that doesn’t get talked about enough in the weight loss space — weight regain. If you’ve ever lost weight, felt proud of yourself, only to slowly (or quickly) see it come back, this episode is going to make you feel seen, understood, and most importantly… hopeful.Because weight regain isn’t a sign that you’ve failed. It’s a sign that the approach you were using wasn’t built for long-term sustainability. What I talk about in this episodeI start by opening up about my own experience with yo-yo dieting — losing and regaining the same weight over and over again for years. If you’re stuck in that cycle, I want you to know you’re not alone, and there is a way out of it.We then unpack the real emotional experience of weight regain, because this is where most women get stuck in silence:Shame and frustration after “undoing” progressGrief for the body you felt confident inSelf-blame and the fear of “what if this is just me now?”And I want to be really clear here: none of those thoughts are facts — they’re emotional responses, not your identity. The real reasons weight regain happensI break down the most common (and often misunderstood) reasons women regain weight:1. Restriction backfires When you cut too much food or follow rigid rules, your body adapts. Metabolism slows, hunger increases, and eventually, weight comes back when normal eating resumes.2. Short-term dieting mindset Most diets are built around a deadline — a holiday, a wedding, a goal weight. But once the “goal” is reached, the structure disappears.3. The plan doesn’t fit your real life If your approach requires perfection, hours of prep, or constant restriction, it will eventually break the moment life gets busy.4. Life happens Stress, grief, burnout, illness, and emotional seasons often shift eating patterns. Food becomes comfort — and that’s deeply human. The trap of quick fixes after weight regainOne of the biggest mistakes I see is what happens after weight comes back. Most women go straight into:Juice cleansesExtreme calorie cuts“Start over Monday” diets12-week challengesBut this just repeats the same cycle — more restriction, more adaptation, and often more regain later.Instead, I explain why the answer is almost always:slower, smaller, more sustainable change that works with your body, not against it.What to do instead (the approach I teach)I walk you through a more supportive, realistic way forward:Give yourself space to acknowledge what happened (without judgment)Avoid “punishing” yourself with restriction againRebuild structure gradually instead of trying to fix everything at onceFocus on habits, not extremesGet support instead of doing it all aloneAnd most importantly, I remind you that progress isn’t about doing more — it’s about doing what actually lasts. If this episode resonated…If you found yourself relating to this conversation, I want you to know there is another way to approach weight loss — one that doesn’t rely on restriction, tracking, or constantly starting over. This is exactly what I support women with inside my coaching program.Links & ResourcesApply for coaching: HEREFollow Angela on Instagram: HERE
