Health or Hype
Joe Wicks explores the flood of health advice we encounter every day, separating evidence-backed guidance from passing trends and supposed quick fixes. Guided by neuroscientists, nutritionists, movement coaches and psychotherapists, he digs into topics including sleep, nutrition, movement, nature and mental health. To test what genuinely helps, he spends 24 hours alone in an isolated forest cabin, deprives himself of sleep and tracks everything from fibre intake to stool samples. Across five episodes he asks why birdsong can support our health, explores the gut-brain connection, learns how to make friends with anxiety and finds out why boredom matters. He also puts viral health hacks to the test and faces his biggest fear, all in search of simple changes that can help us live longer, healthier and happier lives.
