AUDIENCE CAPTURE - How "Influencers" Become Brainwashed by Their Audiences | After Skool 27.09.2026 10นาทีAUDIENCE CAPTURE - How "Influencers" Become Brainwashed by Their Audiences We often talk of "captive audiences," regarding the performer as hypnotizing their viewers. But just as often, it's the viewers hypnotizing the performer. This disease, of which Perry is but one victim of many, is known as audience capture, and it's essential to understanding influencers in particular and the onlineecosystem in general.Audience capture is an irresistible force in the world of influencing, because it's not just a conscious process but also an unconscious one. While it may ostensibly appear to be a simple case of influencers making a business decision to create more of the content they believe audiences want, and then being incentivized by engagement numbers to remain in this niche forever, it's actually deeper than that. It involves the gradual and unwitting replacement of a person's identity with one custom-made for the audience.Extra Stuff: Check out Gurwinder's Substack - https://gurwinder.substack.com/ Follow Gurwinder on Twitter - https://twitter.com/G_S_BhogalPlease consider supporting After Skool on Patreon https://www.patreon.com/AfterSkool Visit our site at https://www.afterskool.net/ Or send us an email at [email protected] at the end: "On the Run" by Part Native https://soundcloud.com/partnativePlease share, like, comment, subscribe and hit the notifications bell so you don't miss future videos. The Buddhabrot - The Fractal Image That Unlocked Carl Jung’s Deepest Theory | After Skool 27.09.2026 20นาทีThe Buddhabrot - The Fractal Image That Unlocked Carl Jung’s Deepest Theory A few months ago, a groundbreaking study was published that linked fractal geometry to Carl Jung's theories. I contacted Dr Harry Shirley, the author of the study, to record a podcast about his findings. The discovery has changed the way I see everything - art, myth, culture, emotions, people - it's all fractals. Numbers are the key to this riddle. Before Carl Jung died, he hypothesized the number was the link between mind and matter, because it is both quantitative to the material world AND symbolic to the psychological realm. Several decades after Carl Jung's death, mathematicians stumbled upon the Buddhabrot set, a beautiful fractal pattern. The shape formed is entirely numerical iteration, derived from a simple mathematical formula , but the image produced looks like a spirit being. Dr Harry Shirley has made an incredible connection, linking the Buddhabrot to Carl Jung's concepts of archetypes and depth psychology. We can see hints of this connection is meaningful art, alchemical images, ancient monuments and religious architecture. I have even been unknowingly summoning the Buddhabrot in my own artwork. To view the study here https://osf.io/preprints/psyarxiv/6te7w_v1Publication here - https://brill.com/view/journals/ijjs/aop/article-10.1163-19409060-bja10049/article-10.1163-19409060-bja10049.xmlCarl Jung (1875-1961) was a Swiss psychiatrist and psychoanalyst who founded analytical psychology. He’s one of the most influential thinkers of the 20th century, especially when it comes to understanding the human mind, myth, spirituality, and the unconscious. The Buddhabrot is a mathematical fractal-a stunning visual pattern generated by iterating a simple formula in the complex number plane. It’s related to the famous Mandelbrot set, but rendered in a way that produces an image that eerily resembles a glowing spiritual figure, like a seated Buddha, hence the name.Dr Harry Shirley has a PhD in organic chemistry and research experience at University of Oxford. Now working as a consultant, he holds a personal passion for Jungian psychology and the interplay of psyche and matter.Get in touch with Dr Harry Shirley on X - @HarryS1964455 Or email [email protected] Support Dr Harry Shirley on Patreon https://www.patreon.com/DrHarryShirleyBackground music: Eternity by StellardroneSupport After Skool on Patreon https://www.patreon.com/c/AfterSkool Join the After Skool Newsletter https://www.afterskool.net/ Order After Skool shirts and prints https://shop.afterskool.net/ We cannot change the world. ARE YOU AN ALPHA? - Simon Sinek - Why Leaders Eat Last | After Skool 27.09.2026 9นาทีARE YOU AN ALPHA? - Simon Sinek - Why Leaders Eat Last In this in-depth talk, ethnographer and leadership expert Simon Sinek reveals the hidden dynamics that inspire leadership and trust. In biological terms, leaders get the first pick of food and other spoils, but at a cost. When danger is present, the group expects the leader to mitigate all threats even at the expense of their personal well-being. Understanding this deep-seated expectation is the key difference between someone who is just an "authority" versus a true "leader."For more animated talks please subscribe.Animation by https://www.kramgallery.com/Full presentation can be seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ReRcHdeUG9Y Follow the podcast for new episodes. Ancient Egyptian Birth Control | After Skool 27.09.2026 5นาทีAncient Egyptian Birth Control Over 4000 years ago, Ancient Egyptians were far ahead of their time. They had advanced architecture, agriculture, writing and even birth control. Crocodile dung, Acacia fruit, pomegranate seeds and lamb intestines were just a few of the items that ancient Egyptians used in order to prevent birth. Although these methods may seems bizarre to us today, they were actually quite effective and Egypt did have a much lower birth rate than other areas of the world during the same time. Please subscribe for more interesting animations.Animation by https://www.kramgallery.com/Sources: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2156481/pdf/jroyalcgprac00261-0012.pdf http://www.scihub.org/AJSMS/PDF/2012/3/AJSMS-3-3-93-98.pdf http://www.stoa.org/diotima/essays/wardlect.shtml http://fathom.lib.uchicago.edu/2/21701778/ http://www.sciencemuseum.org.uk/broughttolife/techniques/earlymethodsofbirthcontrol http://www.lisapoyakama.org/en/the-contraceptive-methods-in-ancient-egypt/ http://nssp.unm.edu/important-resources/brief-history-ancient-egypt.pdf http://www.history.com/topics/ancient-history/ancient-egypt Follow the podcast for new episodes. Magnum Opus - How to Find Your Purpose in Life | After Skool 27.09.2026 8นาทีMagnum Opus - How to Find Your Purpose in Life Instead of wasting time on instagram, why not spend some time expanding your mind at https://brilliant.org/afterskool. They make learning fun and easy.If you're interesting in hiring us to create an animation for your company, please visit https://www.afterskool.net/services/ for details!Magnum opus is a latin term that is defined as someone’s greatest life achievement. It is the highest intersection of talent, skill and hard work, when someone reaches their maximum potential at the exact right time in the exact right place. Everyone has a massive amount of potential, whether it be an invention, a painting, a song, a journey, a book, an idea, you name it, but very few actually get to flourish and reach for that potential. When you’re a young child, you hold the belief that anything is possible, no dream is too big...so what happens between childhood and adulthood that crushes so many dreams? Why do so many settle? Is it the school system? Is it “realistic” expectations? Financial fear? Practicality? A lack of belief? The reason people don’t attempt their magnum opus is because of doubt. Doubt is the ultimate crippler of ambition. In order to believe in yourself, you must have evidence to support this belief. It’s like a table. Your belief is the table-top and the legs are experiences and evidence that support the belief. Doubt is like a woodpecker, that chips away at the legs of the table. When enough doubt creeps into your mind, the table comes crashing down and you no longer believe in yourself. The key is to reverse this process. Move toward beliefs that empower you, then find role models, experiences, stories and evidence to support the new empowering belief. Most importantly, do not listen to the doubters. Doubters are cynical people who have never attempted what you’re setting out to do. Buddha said, “we are what we think, all that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts, we make the world.” Achieving your goal starts with the mental belief that it can be done. Attitude is far more important than IQ.It may seem scary and unfamiliar, for the path to your magnum opus is never easy. You will have to be willing to take risks, sacrifice, and to go the extra mile. At the end of this short life, you want to look back and say, i gave it my all. I took a shot, and left it all on the line. This simple exercise can help you focus your energy and home in on your magnum opus journey. Write down things you love to do, things you’re good at and things people will pay you to do. The intersection of these 3 categories is your “sweet spot”. Perhaps you can combine things from all 3 categories. The key to reaching your magnum opus is to find your sweet spot and take action. For more interesting animations, please subscribe! What Happens When You Drink SeaWater? | After Skool 27.09.2026 5นาทีWhat Happens When You Drink SeaWater? Video by https://www.kramgallery.com/ Over 2/3rds of the earth is covered in water, but only 2% of that water is pure. As clean drinking water becomes more scarce, you maybe wondering…What happens if I drink seawater? Let’s first examine how our bodies absorb water. You may remember the process of Osmosis where water moves from a less concentrated solution to a more concentrated solution, through a semi permeable membrane. The cell’s membrane allows water to pass through, but not the particles dissolved in water, like salt. Normally the saltiness of water inside our cells is the same as the saltiness outside our cells. When you drink water, a concentration difference takes place. Water from the outside your cell moves inside to maintain balance. This is called an isotonic state. When you drink too much seawater, the saltiness outside your cells will increase rapidly and the cells force water molecules out in order to restore balance. So even if you are already dehydrated, drinking sea water will cause your cells to release more water and you will end up peeing out more liquid than you take in. Conversely if you chug a massive amount of pure water, the exact opposite will happen. The saltiness outside your cells will decrease rapidly and water will be forced into your cells. This can cause the cells to swell and burst, which in extreme cases leads to seizures, coma and sometimes death! This would only occur if you were to chug 6 liters or more in an instant though. So what can you do if you are stranded on a deserted island with absolutely NO fresh water around? The simplest way to extract fresh clean water from the ocean is through distillation, which separates the salt from the water. In order to distill water you must heat the sea water so it evaporates, then trap the evaporated water vapor until it cools and condenses back into liquid water. Kinda like the moisture on your bathroom mirror after a hot shower. This condensed water will be free of all salt and 100% safe to drink. And be sure to subscribe :)Video by https://www.kramgallery.com/ Follow the podcast for new episodes. We cannot change the world.
