But what does Spark even mean? The actors creative team debates the word and everything that it could be, before they finally rock it out and find it for themselves. Then, to top it off, Lindsay faces the ultimate challenge: how to incorporate Mozart’s Requiem into a new song where an experienced couple have to send a warning to a new couple of how not to make the mistakes that they’ve made. Will it work? Listen to find out!
  • Episode 3 - The Doorbell Rings 12.02.2026 22хв
Composer Lindsay Jones goes deep into the songs behind a long-term relationship, long after the love songs have run out. First, there’s the fine line between partnership and competition with “It’s Always My Turn”, then there’s the loopy oompah waltz of “The Doorbell Rings”, and finally the song about the secrets we keep from the people we love called “The Silent Treatment”. The mystery of adapting Todd Logan’s play Botanic Garden into a musical keeps us guessing til the end!
  • Episode 2 - A House Built On Love 05.02.2026 25хв
Composer Lindsay Jones grapples with the fact that it’s been a very long time since the first production of Todd Logan’s play Botanic Garden, and realizes that perhaps he has a lot more in common with these characters than he thought. He commits to writing songs for Botanic Garden The Musical that will draw upon his own journey as well as the play. We hear the story behind Have You Heard, and how it was ultimately replaced by the love song A House Built On Love. Then love turns on its head as we slam into the confrontational song Do You Love Me So Much, and we discover that the love behind a relationship can easily be a two-sided coin or… a double edged sword.
  • Episode 1 - Why Am I Here? 05.02.2026 24хв
Todd Logan invites Lindsay Jones to help adapt Todd’s play Botanic Garden into a musical and almost immediately Lindsay realizes he has no idea how to write a musical. Lindsay writes the perfect opening song which everyone loves until they all realize that perhaps it’s not the perfect opening song. Inspired by Stephen Sondheim’s struggle to write “Comedy Tonight”, Lindsay creates “Why Am I Here” which is actually becomes the perfect song to open the show. Lindsay then vows to write an entire musical using only a piano, then immediately breaks this vow by adding in a metronome as musical instrument on “An Honest Lie”. This journey may have more twists than we thought.
