  • #169 - Jessica Fern & David Cooley: Consensual & Ethical Non-Monogamy - Navigating Open Relationships 12.09.2026 58min
"The further we step outside the constructs of monogamy, the more we inevitably come to see our relationships through new eyes, and sometimes we may not like what we see. Whether you are brand new to CNM, or have been living some form of it for years, the changes that come as you or your partner develop new relationships can radically alter your life in unpredictable ways. For many, the changes that CNM can bring act like a pressure cooker, heating things up and bringing to the surface all kinds of feelings, issues, and dynamics that you were potentially never aware of, such as unprocessed trauma, unresolved ruptures, power imbalances, lingering resentments, poor communication habits, codependency, or even deal-breaking incompatibilities. As CNM forces us to confront some of the exposed cracks in the foundation of our relationships, it can be helpful to remember they are not necessarily the result of personal shortcomings on our part, but often the remnants of relational dynamics that were most likely masked by the closed container of monogamy, or the ostensible security of more hierarchical polyamory." Quote from Polywise, 2023, written by my guests today. Jessica Fern is a psychotherapist and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, and the author of "Polysecure" from 2020. David Cooley is a restorative justice facilitator and the creator of the Restorative Relationship Conversation Process. Together they wrote "Polywise" in 2023 and "Transforming the Shame Triangle" in 2026 I feel this interview about different factors in consensual non-monogamy (CNM) is so important, because I personally think we are living through a major relational shift due to the ways we can now connect, and in the ways we are now able to see beyond what's considered normal and accept more diversity. This is about how we live with each other, and how we are able to love within different structures. And I'm telling you: as a Pluto in Scorpio gen, it is so refreshing to hear information that dismantles the marriage ideal I was never able to live up to, and yet for any gen it is "a painful process of releasing your attachment to a relationship that can no longer give you either what you need or what they want and what they need".. That's me personally, referring to PolyWise - what about you? I hope you enjoy this one as we speak of: How we are swimming in the paradigm of monogamy Love is infinite. And yet, attachment isn't !!! Attachment as a choice rather than an accident The many shapes of CNM could be hierarchical and non-hierarchical polyamory, solo polyamory, swinging, and Life partners where you are formerly married, now sharing a home - how does a new partner fit into that?? For who does it in monogamy "feel like they're dying"? Legislation making polyamorous people a protected class Relational intelligence !! Quite a bit more!!! In this episode we basically go from the books PolySecure & PolyWise to Transforming the Shame Triangle. As we learn throughout there are several links from the work with parts to CNM, in Polywise Jessica Fern also uses the parts-work approach to explore why CNM can activate such strong emotional reactions. Parts that react on CNM may be: a child part afraid of being abandoned or having its needs unmet a hurt part carrying experiences of betrayal or infidelity a competitive part afraid of being replaced a "princess" part wanting to be the only special person a critical part that distrusts non-monogamy altogether insecure parts that fear not being enough The parts are trying to protect important needs for safety, attachment, love, recognition, choice, and belonging. Now in Jessica and Davids latest book: "Transforming the Shame Triangle: From Shame to Love Using Parts Work" this way of relating to yourself is even further explained, and giving voice to shame and the possible transformation process, which we also touch on in this interview.  Let's continue the conversation on alternative relating!! Many of us have embraced this multiplicity of the mind as it works wonders therapeutically - but then what about in our interpersonal relationships, could open relationship help us heal?  -Mannah LINKS: view it on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lbGEXLDdjzE The books are: PolySecure: https://a.co/d/08mEr2lH PolyWise: https://a.co/d/06EHS7uh Shame Triangle: https://a.co/d/032uTtej Websites: Jessica Fern: https://www.jessicafern.com/ David Cooley: https://www.restorativerelationship.com/ Mannah: https://www.therapeuticastrologer.com/   Support me by listening to this on https://podimo.com/s/m8a0anov
  • #168 - Joseph Pawson: Dependency and Denial - The Stories That Divide Us 04.09.2026 1t 26min
"When our cries go unanswered, we find ourselves having to shout louder. It is easy to see how these attempts to be praised can be misread and labelled incorrectly as arrogance, misbehavior, or being a show-off. As a result, it may feel as if we are being told that our need for mirroring is in some way bad or wrong. In being misunderstood, our developmental needs can be misconstrued, and a distorted story may be told about who we are. Sadly, we often internalize these stories and labels and, in doing so, inadvertently deny and exile the vulnerability of our own needs. Misunderstandings of this nature occur not only during our development, but also in our daily lives." Just one of the MANY great quotes from my psychotherapist -guest today, Joe Pawson, from his book "Dependency and Denial: The Stories That Divide Us" (Karnac, 2026) This became a deep conversation about how we NEED each other. And in a culture that idealizes self-sufficiency, our dependency, our need for others, becomes something we exile and DENY. Joe Pawson talks about how the stories we create protect us from pain, but also separate us, separation from each other and from ourselves. He is excellent with words (AND EMPATHY), so slow everything down and go into a reflective space with us as we talk about: Why our connection to each other can be both the source of our wounds and part of the remedy Anxious and avoidant attachment, and what may exist underneath the attachment styles themselves How falling in love reactivates some of our earliest hopes, fears and developmental wounds Denial as a way of creating maps and stories that make life, pain and trauma more manageable How we can internalize the message that our needs are too much, silly, weak or unwanted The moments in therapy where a client begins to become vulnerable and then suddenly interrupts, minimizes or dismisses their own experience - before the therapist does (?!) We have a long segment on denial in therapy setting-  and also we come to talk about the therapist's own vulnerability, the willingness wo be in the unknown  How TRAGIC misunderstandings happen when we cannot see the vulnerability underneath another person's behavior Projected vulnerability and what happens as when we see what is ours in other people Buddhist ideas of interdependence, the illusion of a completely separate self and the difficulty of seeing beyond the maps through which we understand reality The idea that the key to reconnecting with greater wholeness may lie precisely in the vulnerabilities we have abandoned THEN I look at Joe's huge Cancer energy and in particular I say something about Mars in Cancer, and we explore Mars as the warrior who can protect vulnerability and tender places- It goes into his relationship to politics and ability to stay with the larger picture rather than concrete and limiting solutions. -IN THE VERY END I challenge Joe to come up with a good not activating ending, as we talk about goodbyes in therapy.  I hope you will love this! I have had the book with me all summer and have just enjoyed reading it slowly, taking in his beautifully put words and feeling into my own huge longing for more closeness in this world. PS another quote: "Breaking down can become breaking through when there is someone there to hold us - as we fall apart" !! -Mannah LINKS: the book: https://www.karnacbooks.com/product/dependency-and-denial-the-stories-that-divide-us/98431/ my guest: https://www.jppsychotherapy.co.uk/ myself: https://www.therapeuticastrologer.com/   youtube edition: https://youtu.be/S51zXfhXvU4 my preferred place to listen: https://podimo.com/s/m8a0anov
  • #167 - Dr. Sherrie Campbell: Cutting Ties with Toxic Family - Rebuild your HOME - Heal from Family Trauma 31.08.2026 59min
Sherrie Campbell, PhD, is a licensed psychologist who specializes in helping healthy people cut ties with toxic family members. She is a nationally recognized expert on family estrangement, an inspirational speaker, a social media influencer, and author of many books on the theme of toxic and abusive family and how to heal while navigating those biological relationships. In this episode of Therapeutic Astrology Podcast, we tap deeply into toxic family dynamics, emotional abuse, boundaries, family estrangement and healing of it! Our conversation centers especially around Dr. Sherries latest published book, "You Are Home: Heal from Family Trauma, Establish Boundaries, and Find a Place of Peace and Safety" from 2026. Sherrie speaks not only as a psychologist, but as a survivor who has lived what she writes about! She describes her own journey of breaking free from a toxic family system, "turning predators into purpose," healing out loud, and moving toward redemption rather than revenge and in the book she gives a plan of how to rebuild yourself as your own home after emotionally abuse. TAP in as we go into topics such has: • Family estrangement and why going no contact still challenges such a powerful cultural taboo • Why severing ties with family is rarely a sudden decision, but often the end of a very long history of trying, hoping and being hurt again • Therapists can support clients exploring estrangement without imposing their own beliefs and judgements about family • THE WHY of toxic parenting -why they  behave as they do don't matter • Closure, maladaptive guilt, gaslighting and boundaries • The central metaphor in the book, is that you are your own house! your own structure that belong to you • We go through the floors, beginning with the basement and our "monsters"  • I also ask Sherrie about the term "the bottom will fall out"  • Boundaries as different levels of access: the porch, the yard, the fence and, when necessary, no contact • The difference between imperfect parenting and emotional abuse touching on the importance of repair, accountability and making sure a child does not become responsible for a parent's emotions • Emotional regulation as allowing yourself to fully feel rather than feeling less  • The top floor of the house is your autonomy, and being able to reclaime your identity  • Radical acceptance versus forgiveness • Becoming your own greatest family and developing a rich inner world that does not depend entirely on other people Toward the end, we move into astrology, exploring Sherrie's Aries and Libra signatures and her Sun–Chiron conjunction, and the spiritual support she has experienced during some of the darkest periods of her life, esepcially during her Neptune Square. • #166 - Philip Shepherd: Ground and Heighten Your Sensitivity to Live More Intelligently AND: How to Feel SAFE When Sensitive (p.2.) 24.08.2026 57min
"The more sensitive someone is, the more crucial it is that they embody this other quality if their sensitivity is to inform their wholeness rather than disrupt it." & "If our sensitivities open us to the resonances of the world, it is another capacity that enables us to "gather" what is gleaned rather that being overwhelmed or knocked off balance by it: a capacity that enables us to be "collected"—to deepen into our wholeness and assimilate What Is. We might call this integrative quality 'groundedness'. (Radical Wholeness, 2017, Philip Shepherd - it makes even more sense when read in full context of the book, I just wanted to introduce you to his perspective a little when it comes to sensitivity)  Welcome to the second part of my conversation with Philip Shepherd, who is an Embodiment expert, author and co-director of The Embodied Present Process. In this episode we continue to talk about his book RADICAL WHOLENESS, but this time with an emphasis on SENSITIVITY. Basically we learn how sensitivity is a form of intelligence! I begin the interview by quoting him: "When your heart yearns to surrender to the freedom of your wholeness, the journey that beckons is one that has never been made before: no one has ever stepped into your wholeness, and no one can predict where it will take you. You are treading into the unknown. You are opening the body's sensitivities to the thriving wakefulness of the Present living through your being." THEN here is some of the places we go: -Sensitivity to hearing and understanding what you are here to do/your service -Feeling the necessity rather than being pulled away by society -Feel the earth to bring coherence to the sensitivity, and how we learned not to trust the earth and how that will help us join something larger than ourselves -Sensitivity in the education system - I am here thinking of this quote: "Imagine, for a moment, how radically different an education system would be if 1) its aim were to foster intelligence rather than mere learning; 2) it understood intelligence to be 'grounded sensitivity'; and 3) it recognized that the attunement of each child's intelligence to the world is unique." -Reward and punishment, is that the best education? or could we ignite students fire? -Philip shares WHY he cares about sensitivity in the school system  -This desensitized realm that seeks to dominate through a top-down relationship -Some ideas on why more people are being diagnosed as autistic -Can we trust the senses? Or the logic more? -Walking in the woods can be while remaining in the head, rather than being in the present, we need to learn from nature -Sexuality and the embodied present process  -The wound is reinforced by the school system. Our being and thinking are in fact ONE -Bodyworld,the unity of the self: I am inseparable from the world -Responsebility over idependence  -What happens when we shut down sensitivity  -Being held by the Present -Reality rather than over ideas about reality -Rather than organizing ourselves and the bind of self-consciousness, we can be organized and guided by the present -My body knows...there is a belonging -Coming back to the body is coming back to sensitivity  -A Surrender that EMPOWERS you -Your fluidity  -Question what has shaped you, so that you have a choice -Philip - on a listeners request- shares a bit about his bike journey at 17 from England to Japan where he found the limitations of his own culture  -HEAR THIS: I knew that if I stayed within my culture, my aliveness would be diminished!!! (Philip is so quotable!) -The pelvic bowl...drop your center of your thinking there -WHEN sensitivity gets dangerous! ...and when it can be SAFE to FEEL Hope you love it. I'll keep reading Philip Shepherd, and I hope to speak with him more in the future. I feel he has some urgently important things to say to our time, and that his work can be therapeutic even through the way it is written, in a more poetic language that I feel engages more of me than usual.  LINKS find this episode on youtube: https://youtu.be/NCF4_wQJ458 Find Philip Shepherd here: https://embodiedpresent.com/ the embodied practises: https://embodiedpresent.com/pages/embodiment-practices-for-uncertain-times Philips books: https://www.amazon.com/stores/author/B003VO31LC Mannah: https://www.therapeuticastrologer.com/
  • #165 - Philip Shepherd: Softening Into a Porous Relationship With the Present - Radical Wholeness (p.1.) 14.08.2026 54min
Okay a long quote, but seriously, check it out: "We feel ourselves held within a personal boundary that keeps our life separate from that of the world. It's hard to appreciate how strangely normalized that state of ours is until we look to other cultures for comparison. When we seek to promote our personal well-being, for instance, we might think about taking the right supplements, eating organic food, exercising regularly and sleeping well. I have no issue with any of that—but it's based on an assumption that health will be achieved by doing the right things to the body. So our focus is on the self as an isolated entity, as though it were a machine requiring upkeep. For Anlo-Ewe speakers, well-being is something quite different. It has to be, for they experience the self as porous rather than enclosed. For instance, the Anlo-Ewe sense of personhood is described as having a "nonboundedness and a lack of the kind of unitary wholeness of being that is characteristic of Western psychologies of the self." This reflects the Anlo-Ewe understanding of being itself: "Not stable, being is highly changeable, always in transformation." (Philip Shepherd, Radical Wholeness: The Embodied Present and the Ordinary Grace of Being, page 15-16 (North Atlantic Books, 2017) I feel this so deeply - I can only hope it reaches you as well, because I am talking life-changing with this interview, feel into what Philip is saying, is my advice in this first of a two-part series on Radical Wholeness. Enjoy this interview with teacher and author Philip Shepherd, who has developed "The Embodied Present Process" (TEPP) together with Allyson Woodrooffe. He is originally an actor, and a counter-culture biker, if I should name it, and the way he shares is also an experience, that might resonate for you too. TAP in with us as we in this first interview speak about: -What deep fitness is about around tapping into the bodies intelligence  -How thinking moved from the belly to the head! -Feel-Feel-at-Flesh-Inside -We are in a Story culturally, can we step outside of it? -How the process of balancing presents us with a model in which the self is not encased within a boundary but is oriented in the world by a fluid, felt partnership.  -Why we are teaching our children that it's better to think with a portion of their beings than to think with the whole of their beings -Spatioception is a sense that everyone is born with -Presentation mode that manipulates versus being present that is relationship and receptive -Every sense is felt in the body's resonance -Our relationship to the body is our fundamental relationship, and the underlying template for all of our other relationships and hiw that relates to the meta-crisis we are in -New terms rather than exteroception and proprioception -a term to tell you where space is in your body! -'as we relate to the body, so we relate to the world' -Philip Shepherds personal motto !!!! It is so valuable -Thinking and being are not two different entities -Security and safety -Out primary wound -There is an Inner Ocean in Your Body - You Are Fluid- Breath is an Experience of the World Passing Through You  (I considered all this to be the title!!) -Our body's intelligence has been fractured  -You can integrate what has been stuck within the body -the body as a bell -A little comment on a significant Pluto transit where it applies pressure to whatever you've been quietly clinging to for a sense of safety, in order to expand conciousness and uncover Truth. I found this date from a talk Philip did, where he mentions the story also in the book, but you can find his bike-story by googling "Philip Shepherd's Bicycle Journey".   LINKS Please enjoy these wonderful embodied practises for yourself, that Philip offers here: https://embodiedpresent.com/pages/embodiment-practices-for-uncertain-times Here is the book we speak of today: https://a.co/d/0gRa4Yxc And it is also on audiobook, whereever you listen to books youtube version: https://youtu.be/WhUpDldXC-E See his website here: https://embodiedpresent.com/   More Mannah? you got it! https://www.therapeuticastrologer.com/
  • #164 - Christina Rodenbeck: Lilith Untamed - Making the Case for Black Moon Lilith: The Astrological Lilith 07.08.2026 1t 5min
"Somewhere inside you there is a wildness that yearns to be acknowledged and seen, honoured and cherished, brought into the light. That untamed sliver of self is in all of us".  Welcome to an insightful and wide-ranging conversation with Christina Rodenbeck about her book "Lilith Untamed: A Guide to the Astrological Black Moon" (The Wessex Astrologer, 2026, the above quote is from the very beginning of the book). Christina has a long experience with tracking Black Moon Lilith (BML) she started from scratch and tested whether the assumptions about the Lilith archetype actually held water, rather than inheriting them. In this episode, she introduces us to some of the key themes of the book and she is totally great at it probably because of her on Lilith placement! Mythologically we can say that Lilith was a Hebrew she-devil/ Adam's first wife, formed from the same clay he was. She refused to lie beneath him during intercourse, arguing they were equals, spoke God's name, grew wings, and flew off to the desert and there accepted that a hundred of her children would die daily! What does this archetype have to do with us? According to Christina Rodenbeck A LOT. The book is her attempt to bring understanding of the astrological Lilith up to date and to make her as important a point in interpretation as, say, the Nodes of the Moon. TAP in with us as we speak about this important and rejected archetype. Some of the points in our conversation are around: -The way Lilith shows up archetypically, in her books Christina lists these 9 ways: Rebel / independent woman- Wild woman / innocent in the wilderness- Adulteress, seductress, sexual vampire / erotically liberated- Victim of abuse / avenger- Killer of infants / mother of millions- Independent woman / serial killer- Femme fatale / sexually fulfilled- The joker- Extraordinary or prolific talent -Examples of public figures as Lilith symbols (extra point there, she stresses that the untamed self of Lilith is gender-fluid !!) -Christinas own client cases plus her own lilith experience right on the day we were meeting! -The space between the true and mean Lilith as a kind of power corridor in the chart, that Christina labels the "Via Lamia" -What it is technically, because Black Moon Lilith is neither planet, asteroid, nor star, but a mathematical point. It is the Moon's apogee, the point in its elliptical orbit furthest from Earth. Kepler identified the point in the 17th century; the name Lilith was only attached in the 1930s. -How Lilth relates to initiations and love affairs -Light and shadow, what else are we -Loving your own Lilith -Tracking BML for example your Lilith Return comes every nine years -Why Christina looks forward to BML moving into capricorn  Thank you for being with us!!! • #163 - Jack Morrigan: I've Stared Into the Eyes of the Beast - Something Has to Break - We Could be Facing an Actual Apocalypse 30.07.2026 1t 18min
"I've stared into the eyes of that beast, and it's shown me what it is. And I'm not looking away anymore. In some ways, that's shattering — but at the same time, it's a relief, because I don't have to pretend that beast isn't there anymore." Spirituel teacher Jack Morrigan shares how he feel unburdened of the need to resist or pretend that things are different than they are!  In this interview we hear of Jack's awakening and the start of his profession as a dragon channeler. Jack was originally a junior researcher in psychiatry-related research at UK universities (including the Institute of Psychiatry in London) before a Kundalini awakening experience redirected him toward spirituality and channeling about a decade ago - something he was absolutely not into before!!! But what also happens in this interview is that Jack shares about a very current situation a breaking point he's living through right now. After being "kicked out" from a non-dual spirituality Facebook group he has become aware of something much deeper, that that humanity is facing genuine catastrophe. Listen and I think you will honestly love sinking into it with me, because Jack speaks in such an honest and inviting way or unhurried way, and his voice itself is mesmerizing, so I am incredible thankful for this episode that turned into a firsthand witness account from the underworld, the perception through which Scorpio sees. Another - or in face the same- reason this is a special episode, is that we are right on the full moon with all the shift of nodes into Leo and Aqurius and "The Four Degree Pattern" with Jupiter at 4° in Leo opposing Pluto at 4° in Aquarius and Neptune at 4° in Aries sextiling Uranus at 4° in Gemini - a pattern we expect to turn things around in a massive way, transpersonal planets being involved, also in eclipse season, lots are going on right now! Therefore it is not so strange that Jack is talking about shattering in this interview, where we could relate the theme to say he's in this raw, cracked-open place where even good intentions, his desire to save the world, are revealed to himself as another form of that same need for specialness and control. That's very Leo-South-Node, and the even he shares where a spiritual collective (Aquarius) revealing its shadow use of power (Pluto), because people in the group needed to be "the most awake person in the room" rather than actually awakening. Also just with Neptune in Aries being so activated now, this emphasis on dissolving the mask, the persona we can relate to Jack refusing to be "the dragon guy" all of which I think is part of his personal Neptune square eventually leading to a higher love  - And so we could continue to relate and relate to the astrology of our times, but just in essence with the nodal shift what's genuine outweighs what's popular, and a new movement is now seeded, if not in fact rising! From the Plutonian/scorpio phase we outgrow the old psychic architecture first. • #162 - John Michael Greer: The Magical Writings of W.B. Yeats - The Reality Behind Folk Belief & Poetry 24.07.2026 1t 5min
Quote from the magical writings: "The dead living in their memories, are, I am persuaded, the source of all that we call instinct, and it is their love and their desire, all unknowing, that make us drive beyond our reason, or in defiance of our interest it may be; and it is the dream martens that, all unknowing, are master-masons to the living martens building about church windows their elaborate nests; and in their turn, the phantoms are stung to a keener delight from a concord between their luminous pure vehicle and our strong senses" John Michael Greer is back with us here on tap-  this time to talk about his latest book, "The Magical Writings of W. B. Yeats: The Original "A Vision" and Other Essays on Occultism". This collection brings together Yeats' esoteric writings for the first time in one volume, opening a doorway into a body of work that many readers of Yeats have never read!!!  We begin with the fact that Yeats' occult writings have long remained "an unfortunate omission" from the literature, before exploring some of the central ideas that run through the collection. John helps us understand the channelled concepts of the Mask, the Will, the Creative Mind and the Body of Fate plus the meaning of the Anti-Self, the constant mediumship and inspiration going on AND the influence of the dead!! We also talk about the striking parallels John sees between Irish and Japanese folk occultism. TAP in with therapeutic astrology podcast as we open to the cosmos an learn with such a brilliant writer and thinker, John Michael Greer, We speak about: -Why Yeats' occult writings remained scattered for so long—and why John decided to collect them. -The power couple of Yeats and Georgina ("Georgie") Hyde-Lees, Yeats' wife and collaborator on the automatic writing that became the foundation of A Vision. -"A mysterious contact is perceptible first in painting and then in poetry and last in prose." -Carl Jung had a copy of "A Vision" -There are four interwoven dimensions of A Vision, quote: "The first is a study of human personality, the second an innovative system of occult philosophy, the third an account of the cycles of history, and the fourth a description of the afterlife—and all four of these unfold from the same symbolic structure, share the same philosophical outlook, and interleaf with one another in a galaxy of ways." -How our deepest thoughts sometimes seem to come from elsewhere - a stream of images -The soul's continued development after death  -Cycles of history and why civilizations move through recurring phases rather than linear progress -Yeats believed the imagination opens us to "an invisible commerce of reverie and of sleep." -How Yeats wanted to start an order, see this quote: "I planned a mystical Order which should buy or hire the castle, and keep it as a place where its members could retire for a while for contemplation, and where we might establish mysteries like those of Eleusis and Samothrace; and for ten years to come my most impassioned thought was a vain attempt to find philosophy and to create ritual for that Order." -How irish is poetry - see this quote: "An impulse towards what is definite and sensuous, and an indifference towards the abstract and the general, are the lineaments, as I understand the word, of all that comes not from the learned, but out of common antiquity, out of the "folk" as we say, and in certain languages, Irish for instance—and these languages are all poetry—it is not possible to speak an abstract thought." -How Yeats and his wife was great astrologers!!! If you've only known Yeats as a poet, this conversation offers a glimpse into the esoteric vision that informed so much of his work and this conversation with John Michael Greer oh man, it is so informative, inspiring and helpful in explaining these invisible workings. • #161 - Jessica DiRuzza - Neurodivergence & Therapeutic Astrology - Trust Psyche 16.07.2026 1t 10min
WARNING: REALLY RICH EPISODE, You will meet Jessica DiRuzza who is a depth psychotherapist and has Trust Psyche School of Astrology and Depth Psychology - For many years, she has been doing what Therapeutic Astrology is all about - that is, integrating the wisdom of depth psychology and astrology, helping people heal through both symbolic and therapeutic conversations. In THIS conversation, you are about to her, we explore exactly that- the meeting of psychotherapy and astrology and our main focus today is on neurodivergence!! Can it be seen in the birthchart? And if so, how? Jessica views neurodiversity as a necessary part of human evolution ! Here are some of what we talk about: -Jessicas embodied astrology practise  -The limitation of one session of astrology and the importance of safety, trust, and time when working with trauma and deep psychological change  -Meeting each client where they are instead of relying on a single therapeutic model -Neurodiversity and why so many astrologers are naturally drawn to symbolic pattern recognition -The relationship between neurodivergence, trauma, and living in a world that isn't always designed for different nervous systems. This conversation is definitivly with a neuroaffirming perspective !! We both share vulnerable accomodations to a disability -Interventions - is it the right word?? -Jessica shares about "twice exceptional" and how extraordinary gifts can mask invisible disabilities -Hyper- and hypo-sensitivity EXPLAINED really well - and of course remember that our greatest gifts often emerge from the same place as our deepest challenges! -Chiron as a symbol of the universal human wound (what does Chiron have to do with neurodivergence??) -Jessica is big on the value of PARADOX (libra south node perhaps)  -Spotting neurdiversity in the chart...well...it is symbolism not causation! -we are reminded of the danger of dogmatism in both astrology and psychotherapy -Why every astrologer works from an underlying metaphysics! -My suggestion of Pisces and Aquarius to have a special relationship with neurodivergence, because of their otherworldliness (Neptune, Uranus, 12 og 11th house signatures of course also) If you know Jessica's work, you'll know she has produced many inspiring lectures and teachings online, see links below:   LINKS:   https://trustpsyche.com/about/ https://www.youtube.com/@TrustPsyche   Mannah: https://www.therapeuticastrologer.com/ Youtube edition: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_z9D06N3y8
  • #160 - Perdita Finn: Mothers of Magic - Summoning the Wisdom of our Ancestors 10.07.2026 1t 5min
"We have more lives than we can imagine to make our dreams come true, to see our prayers answered. To see with the eyes of the dead is to know that our story is a long story with so many more twists and turns and returns than we can imagine. To see with the eyes of the dead is to know that the future stretches before us into eternity and there is all the time in the world for the magic of life itself." Quote from the book "Mothers of Magic" by my guest today, Perdita Finn, whose work offers a profoundly enriching vision for humanity. As an Aquarius, she embodies the archetype's gift for seeing beyond convention and imagining new ways of being together. Because....Our bodily appetites and our spiritual hungers were never meant to be pulled apart, as she says. TAP in with us as we speak about: -"Mother" is not an individual identity but a collective reality -You don't own your baby - plus one woman should not be responsible for feeding the baby -Male mothers -They are telling us who we should be, not who we used to be! -To call out to mountain mothers, plant mothers and ancinent mothers from BEFORE civilisation  -We dont have to heal our dead grandparents -The de-demonizing of talking to the dead -The long story and the empowerent of the dead -What it is to live in the longer story -this quote is essential: "I did not think of my ancestors as a lineage of names to which I was connected biologically but rather an entangled root system of beings who were the very ground from which I grew. All the dead who had ever been were our dead, were my dead, were there for me to call upon when I needed help." -Sugar Addiction seriously!! See this quote again from the book we speak about:   "I needed to dive deep into the depths of time, the depths of my own soul, to call forth the guidance not just of my mother and my grandmother but an entire ocean of ancestral mothers and grandmothers. Only they could help me get sober."  -Addiction and Civilization!!! Maybe we have to trust the long story of our souls—so much longer than a lifetime, a species, or an epoch—in order to find our way back to real sobriety!!!!! -FORGIVENESS  (take back the magic) -TO SEE WITH THE EYES OF THE DEAD (before dying yourself) Uh and so much more- stick around for it all, a very inspiring interview! He is author of the 2015 book: "I Am a Modern Mystic - So Are You: How to Engage Your Intuition for Real Change", which we dive into in this episode. In the notes to Mirek writes: "Dark mysticism may emerge through experiences such as suicide, grief, or the sudden loss of a loved one. It belongs to the realm of the occult—not in the popular sense, but as something hidden, mysterious, and ultimately incomprehensible. Dark mysticism is unexplained suffering."  -How we influence each other with our heart-fields -To open yourself up as a therapist - to the mystical flow or even channelling  -Neptune, Pisces, 12th house -Psychologists versus psychotherapists! -Psychotherapy as an art where therapeutic rapport is essential -Mireks alternative Ph.D -The validation comes from people doing better -Mysticism and parenthood -The need to help and give, songs from a happy pisces moon I hope you enjoy it LINKS:   https://www.headofficehealth.com.au/en/mirek-kanik the book:  https://a.co/d/03dpWLI2   Mannah: https://www.therapeuticastrologer.com/     video: https://youtu.be/Das_jaHi2Gs
  • #158 - Jim Fadiman & Jordan Gruber: The Pre-Science Paradigm-Shifting Case for Microdosing 27.06.2026 1t 11min
"Microdosing, like the diminutive hobbits Bilbo and Frodo in The Lord of the Rings, has been able to diversify and develop by not bringing attention to itself; by not worrying about legislation, patent protections, or medical acceptance; and even by not having much concern about current conventional scientific methodologies (some of which are inappropriate for measuring improvements in subjective states)." (From page 279 in "Microdosing for Health, Healing, and Enhanced Performance")  THIS conversation is so special, and I feel so much love from Jordan and Jim - I mean in a quiet way where it lives inside their curiosity, their presence and openess, plus what you will hear is based on their decades of research. If you have never heard of microdosing, you are about to of course, but also here is some help from their book, where they for one (out several) thing say that microdosing is "a very small dose of a classic psychedelic (LSD, psilocybin, mescaline) and certain additional substances (including Banisteriopsis caapi, Amanita muscaria, and others) that in higher doses strongly alter consciousness." MEET authors & my guests today:  James Fadiman, PhD has been professionally involved with psychedelics for more than sixty years. Dubbed the "Father of Modern Microdosing," he developed the protocols and dose ranges that define the practice today. He holds a BA from Harvard and a PhD in psychology from Stanford, has taught at three universities, and cofounded the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology. Jordan Gruber, JD is a former attorney, writer, and editor with a long-time interest in psychology, psychedelics, and human potential. He has written and edited more than a dozen books across widely varying fields and has been close friends with Fadiman since 1990. Here they are together with me talking about their book: "Microdosing for Health, Healing, and Enhanced Performance" from Aeon Books 2025. Join us as we go through themes such as: -Why does the world need this right now? -Can we use alchohol to microdose?  -A generation is turning away from alcohol toward microdosing plus the authors say microdosing is already starting to replace alcohol at social events -ADHD medication as stimulants vs. microdosing that is restoring equilibrium so symptoms eventually go away vs. just functioning  -Depression & the serotonin myth -Chronic Pain: from being in pain to having pain (when I read the quote I said "I love this" but then when I heard myself say it, I was like...it doesnt sound too good to still have pain, but Jim and Jordan explains very well and we also hear a personal story from Jordan around pain and medication) -We also touch on the connection between microdosing and their earlier work on multiple selves (Your Symphony of Selves)!! so interesting when you are into parts-work & the multimind-model -Should you keep microdosing forever? -What science hasn't caught up to yet -The millennia-long relationship with these plants ("For millennia, microdosing has been one way to become more aware of our relationship with all living beings") -Microdosing is very very popoular BUT its growing popularity has happened without influencers, celebrities or big pharma behind it, which may be exactly why it feels trustworthy  -The afterglow from psychedelics and the second-day effect of microdosing -AND very importantly, I think, Jim and Jordans sweet astrological connection!  Thank you for listening and share the episode if you feel like it -Mannah LINKS: youtube version: https://youtu.be/ZbRq3MNrPsc Podimo version: https://podimo.dk/therapeuticastrologypodcast Jim: https://www.jamesfadiman.com/ the book we speak about: https://www.microdosingbook.com/ also the book we speak about: https://spirit.aeonbooks.co.uk/product/microdosing-for-health-healing-and-enhanced-performance/95425 Jordan Gruber: https://www.instagram.com/jordangruber123/ & https://jordangruber.com/  MANNAH: https://www.therapeuticastrologer.com/
  • #157 - Abbie Rosner - Psychedelics and the Counterculture of Aging 19.06.2026 56min
"Long before their appearance in the modern West, psychedelic medicines were understood and revered as portals into sacred space." WELCOME today you will hear about SUCH a progressive and wise theme, when we talk about sacred medicine in older age. In fact it is a revolution—  in the role of elders in our society. My guest and author today also write: "What a delight to meet my inquisitive, slightly edgy younger self again! And yet, altering my consciousness in older age, I found the weight of life experience grounded me like an anchor. I knew myself, my mind, my strengths. Years of meditation had taught me how to deal with that old trickster, fear. Now, pot invited me to put on music and dance, dive deep into conversation, and simply ponder life with a joy I'd never known. If that was what happened with cannabis, I couldn't wait to revisit psilocybin." Her name is Abbie Rosner, she is leading a movement of conscious aging, and in the book she shares not only her own experience but more than 30 older psychonauts share how their psychedelic experiences helped them heal old wounds, align with their authentic selves, and experience profound love and forgiveness. Her book is called "Psychedelics and the Counterculture of Aging" and is published in july of 2026 by Inner Traditions. In this interview we adress topics such as: -Why the focus of baby boomers  -Aging before and aging now! -Bringing in psychedelics for the benefits for older adults -How it can help prepare transition: "Experiencing this paradox of simultaneously being everything and nothing may be about as close as we mortals can get to the divine. It can also extend a level of comfort to the idea of our own mortality. Some find that moving beyond the boundaries of self is useful for making peace with death." -The shift of consciousness  -The experience of being PRESENT -Safety around drugs -and a word that I now love and will use all the time: MULTI-GENERATIONAL COMMUNITIES In the end we touch on the the Leo-Aquarius archetype in Abbies chart that for example show that she will live from a truth that has not yet become conventional which matches the fact that she gives voices to pioneering psychedelic elders. Dr. Cynthia Li is a Physician, Author, and Integrative Healer and - will I add - an excellent speaker as you will hear in this interview on her brand new book: "The Medicine of Flow: Harmonizing Your Inner State for Effortless Healing". She shares how she was merging with the emptiness, when the book wrote itself into a series of letters to her younger self. Cynthia has a wonderful speaking flow and I hope you will feel a piece of healing, just from listening to this. Here is some of what we touch on in this interview: -Opening to the flow of LIFE -Rapid healing - The understanding of flow and that illness is part of a continuum with healing -Illness is not a gift, but part of life and can show us things -Our energy patterns are connected to our consciousness state -Our RELATIONSHIP to the symptoms -Energy fields and heart-brain coherence -Our Electromagnetic fields -What EMBODIED FLOW is -Playing as one orchestra -The radiance of an energy field -Being synced up and attuned for example when you have clients -What to do before and after clients in terms of energetics -QiGong becoming less and less physical  -What happens in healing circles both with need of coherence and prevention of taking on others energy -Flow states -The collective field and communications in sacred places And even more then this. • #155 - Angel Millar - Supernatural Woman and the Male Initiate: Bonded Through Dreams 07.06.2026 1t 28min
Quote: "Initiations into esoteric societies prepare—or are intended to prepare—the initiate to think about what is beyond life and even what might lie beyond death, and to consider his actions not in relation to his ambition but in relation to the Divine Will. Indeed, the symbolism of death and self-sacrifice is common to initiation rites." (...) "Often, the initiation rite gives the initiate a new body by making it symbolic or talismanic. Most notably, there is frequently special symbolism that relates to the sexual organs. These are no longer the animal organs but acquire some sacred status." Welcome to a very special conversation with Angel Millar, whose quote appears above. His newest book has just been published!! I will just copy his bio from the publisher, Inner Traditions, as my own rephrasing is going to make it worse I'm sure: Author Bio: Angel Millar is a highly esteemed author and lecturer on spirituality, symbolism, sorcery, and self-transformation. He began studying magic and trance in his early manhood and was initiated into the Illuminates of Thanateros in London at the age of 19. Now residing in New York City, he is a certified consulting hypnotist and the author of "The Three Stages of Initiatic Spirituality", "The Path of the Warrior-Mystic", and "Transcend the Chaos". IN THIS CONVERSATION, we touch on topics such as fundamentalism in esoteric communities, dreams and visions that are more than representations of aspects of the personality, true HUMILITY, how sex and self-transformation can come together, encounters with a supernatural woman, how to FEEL if someone is not for you, even if they say all the right words, and in the end, we find out what Angel really thinks of therapy and how his Capricornian nature points us to what is REAL. Angel has a great cardinal (initiatory) nature, so in the astrology corner at the end, we talk about the fusion of what we can call a whole cardinal cross, in fact. I HOPE you too also feel this interview is evocative and worthy of your further exploration and contemplation. • #154 - David Stokes: Masquerade At The Crossroads of Good And Evil - Holism and Spirit Work in Mental Health and Addiction 03.06.2026 32min
"If patients stay in the system long enough, they learn to control all words and gestures linked to fantastical thinking, delusions, grandiosity, and hallucination. Through hard experience they learn the fruit of their best thinking is not approved of by the professionals involved in their care. They learn Orwellian doublethink, a capacity to believe in two opposing points at the same time. They discover the skill of believing the reality their mind often presents them with, while at the same time fitting in with the actual reality reinforced by mental health workers."(....) "The scale of suffering of our mentally disordered is rarely investigated as a factor of the disconnections between who we are now and those who went before us." David Stokes has written a truly exceptional book, where I feel he says all the things we are not supposed to say - when working in publically funded social work at least. "Masquerade At The Crossroads of Good And Evil - Holism and Spirit Work in Mental Health and Addiction" is published this year, 2026, at Aeon Books. A much needed book!! This is a shorter interview, as the audio was really poor, but I have edited it so it is a lot better for you to listen to now. I'm hoping to meet David again for a follow up. But enjoy this shorter interview on what the Crossroads is, what the Masquerade is, and how to incorporate a holistic approach into social work, not by suggesting anything spiritual to clients, but by meeting their own aspirations.  Find the incredible special and thoughtprovoking and caring book here:  https://spirit.aeonbooks.com/author/david-stokes/23787 Mannah here: https://www.therapeuticastrologer.com/ youtube version of this interview https://youtu.be/oYd5MxocABE
  • #153 - Jungian Analyst Erica Lorentz: Body as Shadow - Jungs Method of Embodied Healing 21.05.2026 1t 4min
"In modern culture, our sensitivity to our embodied soul has largely retreated into the shadow. An individual may be an excellent athlete or a consummate dancer, for example, but that does not guarantee a healthy relationship with our sensual authority, emotions, or imagination. Indeed, to excel in these areas and achieve our goals of efficiency and precision, we need to focus acutely on breathing, muscles, bones, and rhythm. This creates false gods of perfectionism and achievement." (from page 44 of Body as Shadow, 2026) I am so glad to welcome teacher, lecturer, workshop facilitator, supervisor and Jungian Analyst Erica Lorentz to this chapter of TAP. Erica is the author of Body as Shadow - Jungs Method of Embodied Healing, that she just published after many years of conceiving it. Themes that come up include healing of trauma, where do you go during dissociation, trust the somatic unconscious, what does it mean if there is only darkness when you go into your imagination, and what the subtle body is, even though it cannot fully be expressed in words. Erica spontanously shares from this place in the book that magically enough already was more own favorite, both this quote but also other passages around this lunar consciousness: "As we use the radar of our own experience to feel what a client is emitting—sensing something in the field between us that has not yet flickered into focus—we must soften into it. This is a lunar consciousness (in alchemy, a "making of the silver"). Schwartz-Salant (1982) describes what it means to perceive this kind of awakening and sight: 'This shift of consciousness can be described as a movement from a "solar consciousness" that readily leads to interpretations, into a "lunar consciousness" that focuses upon images and imaginal perceptions. This shift involves an introverted act in which psychic energy—attention and consciousness—is surrendered to the unconscious and to a symbolic sense of oneness, the One Continuum.' (p. 140) Jung discovered this introverted act in psychic energy, which he called "indirect thinking" (1971), when he followed his soul into the underworld." Erica has practiced Authentic Movement for many years, and had the experience of healing a serious headache through - she shares how that happened, and we speak a whole lot on Jungian psychology, symbolic journeys, and how the whole embodied soul got pushed into the shadow, and for us to heal, we need to reconnect to it and go into the imaginal creative space. So all in all - I hope you will tap in with us - beforehand Erica had asked me to look astrologically at how the book will be received and so I interpret the Saturn aspects to her natal chart, which are many, to be a place of solid authority and a lasting impact and things becoming real now- Erica mentions the new beginning, and I totally agree that right now and the coming year is big initiation into being her own person, having her own sense of authority rather than having to rely on social expectations - I don't know obviously how anyone will receive her work, but from my own perspective this book was a joy to read, beautifully written and points to what we long for collectively...at least I do. • #152 - Lauren Donelson - Beyond the Information - A Conversation Between Therapeutic Astrologers 12.05.2026 58min
To us, astrology feels completely natural. But for many, it still sits outside the system, also the system of psychology, even though the obviosly go well together. As Neptune is influencing Saturn in a critical way right now, the lines may begin to loosen. This is a conversation with Lauren Donelson, who is a psychotherapist, intuitive healer, and yes, an astrologer. We share the vision of directly usindg astrology in the healing work - so welcome to an echo chamber what we feel strongly about. TAP in with us as we explore rich themes together and Lauren Donelson brings up many important reflections: at one point she says, "they don't belong to the institutions, they are ours," speaking about gifts that are often treated as something you need certification to even have them. Here are just a few notes on what we speak about: -How completely obvious it is to use Parts Work/IFS and Astrology together - and examples of how that would look -Embodiment, containing, holding and connecting to medicine plants -Mercurial gifts, both the technical explanatory ones and the more artistic ones -Would you trust an IFS therapist who is not also a registered psychotherapist? -How awful it is that what we can go out and call ourselves titles that relies on what education we were able to buy, and not solely on qualifications -And about the registering...do you trust someone with a register more than you own intuition and if so, I wonder why we became that way... -Ancestral healing  -Environmental destruction !!! and justice -Building relationship with the land -Being magic /in Self !!! -and how it is TIME TO LISTEN deeply because the earth is speaking Astrologically, we speak about the whole gamut of Saturn, Neptune and lots of Pisces glimmer in there too, since Lauren and I have that Sun sign in common, and also Uranus through Taurus, because, as I envy in Lauren, she's got a lot of Taurus energy for embodiment, gardening, connecting to animals and nature, and her music (that we even get a tiny piece of)- It WAS truly refreshing to be with another and very qualified therapeutic astrologer-I really do hope you enjoy it LINKS: youtube: https://youtu.be/DlBiR8GKTEA   Find Lauren: https://www.laurendonelsontherapy.com/ instagram: https://www.instagram.com/embodied_healing find me: https://www.therapeuticastrologer.com/

Manda Scott "lights the fires of possibilities", as she calls it, in this much needed episode on thrutopias, the total collapse and how we can emerge into a completely new paradigm. Manda impresses me so much, she has been a published writer for 30 years and writing still, she is also the founder of ACCIDENTAL GODS. I really hope you will enjoy this episode where we get informed, sparked and interrupted in our normal thinking. So grateful for this interview - may it be of great importance to you too. Here are some notes about what we TAP into in this episode: -Bringing knowing back to those who have forgotten -Complexity versus complicated -Thrutopian fiction -Why we do not need more dystopias -Writers and artists imagining different futures -Letting go of tribal divisions -Remembering that we are part of the web of life -Our culture as locked in early adolescence -The natural state of humanity as wholeness -Inner coherence, trauma therapy and talking to the web of life -Ask the web of life: "What do you need me to do?" -Collapse into extinction and emergence into a new system -The caterpillar, the cocoon and imaginal cells -Awake dreaming and sleep dreaming -Aquarian themes run strongly through this conversation, as the archetype is prevalent in Mandas chart. • #150- Phoebe Wyss - Inside the Cosmic Mind: Archetypal Astrology and the New Cosmology 04.05.2026 53min
Phoebe Wyss is a seasoned astrologer with more than 40 years of experience, she is the author of three astrology books and a meditator on the Osho path. In this episode, I speak with Phoebe Wyss about cosmology, sacred geometry, quarter days, synchronicity and experiential astrology as a path of self-discovery. We also talk about her pioneering astrology game Lebensrad, the Wheel of Life, which she created and published in Germany in the 1980s. The game was built on synchronicity, and Phoebe describes how people repeatedly received answers that felt uncannily relevant to what they were already thinking or struggling with. This became part of her research into why astrology works. The Wheel of lige describes the 12 signs as 12 basic archetypal forms or vibrations of energy, all emerging from the oneness at the center.  Phoebe also shares her current approach to experiential astrology, where students physically enter the chart, sit in the place of their astrological placements, and speak from that inner position. The deeper is truer. Finally, we reflect on Phoebe's own chart, especially I ask about her Uranus return.  LINKS: youtube version: https://youtu.be/Ri6U6tv_Vn8 Phoebe Wyss:  https://www.astrophoebe.com/ The book we speak about:  https://www.amazon.com/Inside-Cosmic-Mind-Archetypal-Astrology/dp/178250110X Mannah: https://www.therapeuticastrologer.com/
