CandoFM is a dynamic and engaging community-based radio station located in Barrow in Furness and Ulverston, UK. Established on November 23, 2015, the station primarily serves the Furness community with an eclectic mix of music and programs that echo the diversity of its listeners​​. CandoFM\'s core mission is to build and strengthen community throughout the Furness Peninsula. The station prides itself on being a radio station ‘in the community, for the community, about the community and by the community.\' This commitment is exemplified by the direct involvement of community members in the station\'s management and operation​​. The station\'s programming mirrors the community\'s profile and interests, offering a wide array of musical genres that range from Beethoven to the Beatles, and from every corner of the globe. Moreover, CandoFM is a staunch supporter of local music, regularly inviting local musicians to play live on air and incorporating local music into their daily playlist, along with dedicated shows​​. CandoFM runs both live and pre-recorded shows, which are created by over 50 active volunteers ranging in age from 10 to 75. These volunteers come from diverse backgrounds and include retired police officers, students, and both employed and unemployed individuals. Their passions and interests inform the programming, providing a distinctive flavor to the station​​.
