Phonic FM

Phonic FM is Exeter\'s sound alternative, a vibrant community radio station that has been a part of life in the city since 2008​​. Operating under the on-air name of Exeter Community Radio, Phonic FM is registered in England & Wales with the company number 05979408​​. The station started broadcasting on February 15, 2008, initially using a Restricted Service Licence that only allowed one month of broadcasting per year during the Vibraphonic Music Festival. In 2008, Phonic FM secured a five-year full-time broadcasting license, and this license was extended by another five years in 2012 and again in 2018​​. Phonic FM is known for its diverse range of shows, including The Edge of Jazz, The Future Sound of Exeter Show, Anti Telly Time, Planet Fear, Revolutionary Radio Request Show, The Sunday Scribble, Ja-Fu-Re, A Head of the Curve, and many others​​. The station follows a No Playlists and No Adverts policy, offering a unique auditory experience that includes funk, soul, hip hop, blues, rock, alternative, classical music, and arts review programs​​.
