What if they carry these challenges into adulthood? Friend, I’ve held those fears, too. When we’re afraid of who our children might become, that fear can shape how we see who they are today. In this episode, I’m sharing from my own parenting journey about releasing anxiety, trusting Jesus with our children’s futures, and returning to the child in front of us. We’ll explore how fear can influence the labels we use, how our words shape the way we respond, and how we can leave room for growth in our children and ourselves. If you’re feeling weary from carrying tomorrow’s worries alongside today’s challenges, my prayer is that this conversation helps you feel understood and supported. Jesus cares for your heart, too. You can bring Him your fears and ask for grace for the next loving step. You don’t have to walk this parenting journey alone. Finding Peace and Room to Breathe 22.10.2026 16mNavigating Family Transitions & Creating Family Rhythms That Leave Room to Breathe Are you feeling burned-out, wishing things would change, but not even knowing where to start? When everyone needs something different and the rhythm that once worked no longer fits, finding your way forward can feel overwhelming. In this episode, I share how welcoming our two boys from foster care changed our family’s rhythms and led us to slow down, simplify, and make room for what mattered most. Together, we explore giving ourselves permission to say no, letting go of comparison, making space for the grief that can accompany change, and caring for our hearts and bodies along the way. We also talk about simple weekly anchors and small daily moments of connection that can help our families feel more settled. You don’t have to figure everything out today. You can start small and let Jesus care for you right in the middle of this season. 68. When Your Child Has a Meltdown Over “No”: Holding Boundaries with Compassion 15.10.2026 18m Have you ever told your child no about something that seemed small, only to watch their whole world fall apart? And as their disappointment grows, you feel yourself becoming overwhelmed too? Friend, you are not alone. Even a gentle no can bring really big feelings. We can hold our boundaries while helping our children feel loved and supported through their disappointment. In this episode, I share a sweet moment between my boys that reminded me how remembering our own struggles can help us respond with compassion. We’ll explore two ways to support ourselves and our children: Anchor, caring for our own hearts and grounding ourselves in Christ’s love, and Harbor, becoming a safe, welcoming place for our children’s emotions. We’ll talk about: Why saying no can feel scary when we’re anticipating a meltdown. Letting go of the pressure to prevent or fix every disappointment. Simple, intentional ways to care for your heart, mind, and body. Using HARBOR to offer connection and comfort during big feelings. Receiving God’s compassion as we learn to extend it to our children. You don’t have to make disappointment disappear to help your child through it. 67. Redefining Success in Motherhood: Letting Go of Perfection and Comparison with Kristin Styers 08.10.2026 19mHave you ever looked at your child’s behavior—or your own response to it—and wondered if you were failing as a mom? So often, we measure our success in motherhood by how well our children behave, how calmly we respond, or how closely our family resembles the picture we imagined. But what if successful parenting isn’t about raising perfectly behaved children or getting every moment right? In this special conversation, I’m joined by Kristin Styers, host of the Redefine Success podcast, to talk about releasing perfectionism, comparison, control, and the fear of what others think. Together, we explore: Why our children’s behavior can feel like a reflection of our worth How comparison steals the joy and freedom of motherhood The difference between failure and something simply not going as expected Why every child needs something different from us How curiosity and connection help us understand our children What it means to show up with courage and love How our faith reshapes our understanding of success Why one difficult moment does not define our motherhood Friend, you are not failing simply because motherhood looks different than you expected. You and your children are both growing—and there is so much grace for the journey. If yelling or losing your patience has left you feeling discouraged, I would love to invite you to my free virtual workshop, No More Yelling: A Peaceful Parenting Workshop, on Tuesday, October 27, at 7:00 p.m. Central Time. 66. Are You Setting a Boundary or Starting a Power Struggle? How to Lead Our Children Without Control 01.10.2026 15mHave you ever found yourself locked in a battle of wills with your child—not because the boundary truly mattered, but because changing your mind felt like letting your child win? I have been there too. In this episode, I’m sharing the story of a blue plate, a heartbroken two-year-old, and the fears and beliefs that once made me feel as though I had to hold my ground at all costs. We’ll explore the important difference between a healthy boundary and an unnecessary rule—and how we can lead our children with loving authority without slipping into control. You’ll discover: The three essential parts of a healthy family boundary How to identify the value behind a boundary Why healthy boundaries should benefit the entire family How to offer your child freedom and autonomy within safe limits The fears that can keep us trapped in unnecessary power struggles Why changing your mind doesn’t make you a weak parent How servant-hearted leadership helps shape your child’s moral compass Our children need our guidance and authority—but they don’t need us to prove that we are stronger than they are. They need us to protect, teach, and guide them toward what is loving, healthy, and true. If you’re tired of yelling, reacting, and regretting how you handled difficult parenting moments, I would love to invite you to my upcoming FREE virtual parenting workshop: No More Yelling: A Peaceful Parenting Workshop Together, we’ll explore what is happening beneath our reactions and learn practical, grace-filled tools to help us respond with greater calm, connection, and confidence—even in the hardest moments. 65. Quiet Isn't Always Calm: Understanding Emotional Shutdown in Our Kids (and Ourselves) 24.09.2026 17mSometimes what looks like calm isn’t actually calm. When our children move from screaming, crying, or melting down to suddenly becoming quiet and compliant, it can feel like the storm has passed. But sometimes, instead of moving from the red zone back into calm and connection, they’ve moved into the blue zone—a place of emotional shutdown. And we can find ourselves there too. In this episode, we’re talking about some of the ways shutdown can show up through withdrawing, disconnecting, numbing, or people-pleasing—and why learning to notice our emotional “dashboard warning lights” can help us respond to ourselves and our children with greater compassion. Ready to bring more peace into the hard parenting moments? Join me for my FREE virtual parenting class, No More Yelling: A Peaceful Parenting Workshop, on Tuesday, October 27th at 7 p.m. Central Time. We’ll talk about what’s happening underneath those reactive parenting moments and practical ways to calm your own nervous system, connect with your child, and respond with greater peace. 64. How to Help Your Child Through Big Emotions and Tantrums: Teaching Emotional Regulation 17.09.2026 21mWhat do you do when your child is completely overwhelmed—screaming, hitting, throwing things, running away, or melting down over something that seems so small? For a long time, I felt like my job was to make those big emotions stop. But one of the most freeing shifts in my parenting has been realizing that our goal isn't to stop the emotional wave, it's to help our children learn how to safely ride it. In this episode, I'm sharing practical ways we can support our children through tantrums and big emotions, including how to recognize what their nervous system may be needing, ways to offer safe movement or space, and why connecting to our own calm matters so much. Our children need our anchored support out there in the waves with them, reminding them, "I'm here. You're safe. We'll get through this together." And little by little, we're teaching them how to surf those emotional waves for themselves. Love,🤍 Naomi Could you use some extra support in your parenting right now? If you're walking through big emotions, challenging behaviors, or simply longing for more peace and connection in your home, I'd love to come alongside you. 63. Emotional Regulation Basics: How to Stay Grounded, Even When They Melt Down 10.09.2026 19mHave you ever known exactly how you wanted to respond to your child’s meltdown… but felt like your own emotions were rising right alongside theirs? I’ve been there too. 🤍 In this episode, we’re talking about why helping our children regulate their big emotions first begins with learning to care for our own. I’m sharing a recent experience that reminded me just how much our capacity matters, along with three simple things that have made a powerful difference in my own emotional regulation: sleep, creativity, and time with Jesus. We’ll also talk about practical tools for those moments when you can already feel yourself becoming overwhelmed—and why sometimes the most regulated thing you can do is recognize that you need a break. This isn’t about becoming a perfectly calm mom. It’s about growing in awareness, caring for the heart and body God has given you, and remembering that His grace is sufficient even on the hard days. You don’t have to do motherhood perfectly, friend. You get to be supported, filled, and loved too. 🤍 Love,Naomi Want a safe place to keep growing alongside other Christian moms? 62. Seeing Beyond Difficult Behavior: How Emotional Attunement Builds Resilience in Our Kids 03.09.2026 16mWhat if, underneath the whining, meltdowns, attention-seeking, or difficult behavior, your child is really asking, “Do you see me?” In this episode, we’re talking about the powerful gift of emotional attunement—slowing down enough to see beyond our child’s behavior and notice what may be happening in their heart. I’ll share how learning to truly see our children can help build emotional resilience, deeper connection, and secure relationships, along with a simple practical tool for noticing and reflecting what our kids may be experiencing. And we’ll connect it all back to the beautiful heart of El Roi—the God who sees us. Because just as our Father sees beyond our hardest moments and knows us deeply, we have the opportunity to reflect that same love to our children. 🤍 Join the Peaceful Christian Parenting Community Friend, you don’t have to navigate the hard moments of parenting alone. 61. No More Sticker Charts! Moving Beyond Rewards and Bribes to Collaboration and Team Work 27.08.2026 19mThere was a season when I was drowning in sticker charts—one for bedtime, another for potty training, cleaning, schoolwork, and just about everything else! They worked for a while, but eventually the rewards had to become newer, bigger, or more exciting—and I was exhausted trying to keep my kids motivated. In this episode, I’m sharing why our family slowly moved away from sticker charts, how rewards and punishments can become two sides of the same coin, and what we can offer our children instead. We’ll also talk about the important difference between using a sticker or treat as leverage and allowing our children to celebrate their own effort and accomplishments. If you’re tired of hearing, “What do I get if I do it?” this episode will give you hope that there is another way—one rooted in connection, collaboration, and helping your child develop motivation from within. Would you love personal support as you move away from rewards, punishments, and power struggles in your home? I would be honored to come alongside you in a one-on-one parenting coaching call. 60. When Your Child Doesn’t Want to Go to School (or Preschool) & What to Say Instead of “Because I Said So” 20.08.2026 15mBack-to-school transitions can bring out a lot of “But we have to!” moments—especially when we’re running late, feeling pressured, or our child is digging in their heels. In this episode, I’m sharing a recent school drop-off experience with my six-year-old that reminded me how powerful it can be to pause and get curious about what’s underneath our child’s resistance. We’ll talk about why “because I said so” often leads to more disconnection, how we can hold necessary boundaries without dismissing our child’s feelings, and some simple phrases that can help us move from pressure to curiosity and connection. Whether you’re navigating school drop-offs, homeschool resistance, or everyday “I don’t want to!” moments, I hope this episode encourages you to remember that we can lead our children through hard things while also letting them know: I’m listening. I care. And I’m here to help. Love,🤍Naomi Want more encouragement and support in your peaceful parenting journey? 59. When You Feel Like a Failure in Motherhood: Mom Guilt, Grace, and Growth 13.08.2026 13mHave you ever walked away from a hard parenting moment feeling like you completely failed? In this episode, I'm sharing a very real story from one of my own mornings with my four-year-old foster son and the gentle truth God spoke to my heart afterward: failure is not an identity—it's an opportunity. We'll talk about the guilt so many of us carry after we lose our patience, how shame keeps us stuck, and how Jesus lovingly invites us into growth instead of condemnation. I'll also share two simple shifts that have brought so much more peace and connection to our mornings, along with the freedom that comes from extending God's grace not only to our children, but to ourselves. If you've been feeling discouraged or wondering if you're "getting it wrong," I pray this conversation reminds you that you are deeply loved, there is abundant grace for you, and every hard moment can become an opportunity for Jesus to gently shape your heart. 58. Worried About What Other People Think of Your Parenting? 3 Steps to Freedom and Connection 06.08.2026 15mHave you ever noticed yourself becoming firmer or more controlling with your child simply because someone else was watching? Maybe you’ve been told you’re too soft, or perhaps a raised eyebrow is enough to send your mind reeling with worry about what others must think of you and your parenting. In this episode, I’m sharing a season when fear of others’ opinions pulled me away from the mother I wanted to be. We’ll walk through three gentle steps to notice this pattern, release the need to prove ourselves, and refocus on what our child’s heart truly needs. You cannot control what others think of you—but you can listen for the voice of Jesus and parent from the security of knowing you are deeply known, loved, and held by your Father. If you’re longing for personal support as you work through the fears, triggers, or patterns keeping you from parenting the way your heart desires, I would be honored to come alongside you in a one-hour coaching call. 57. Not Having Time for God in Motherhood? Grace, Self-Care & Letting Go of Guilt 30.07.2026 16mHave you ever found yourself longing for a close connection with Jesus, but feeling like there simply isn't enough time or energy? Maybe you've wondered if God is disappointed in you because your quiet time doesn't look the way it used to or "should". Friend, if you've ever carried that guilt, this episode is for you. Today I'm sharing from my own journey of navigating exhaustion, interrupted prayers, and the fear that I wasn't giving God enough. Together, we'll gently uncover three common hurdles that can keep us from intimacy with Jesus during the early years of motherhood and discover the beautiful truth of God's compassionate heart toward weary mamas. We'll also explore practical ways to remain connected with Jesus throughout the day, even in the middle of diapers, dishes, school pickups, and sleepless nights. Because while motherhood may change what time with Jesus looks like, it never changes His love for you or His delight in being with you. I pray this episode reminds you that you don't have to earn God's affection or wait for a less busy season to experience His presence. He is meeting you right here in the beauty, the chaos, and the sacred work of motherhood. Much love, 🤍Naomi If you're longing to bring more peace, connection, and confidence into your parenting, I'd love to invite you into our Listening Hearts facebook community, where we walk this beautiful and stretching journey of motherhood together. 🤍https://www.facebook.com/share/g/1KYYK268TU/ -
56. When Your Child Constantly Wants Attention: The Hidden Need That Changed the Way I Parent 23.07.2026 14mHave you ever found yourself thinking, "Why does my child need my attention all the time?" Whether it's endless cries of "Mom, watch me!" or a constant stream of questions and conversations, it can leave us feeling stretched thin. In this episode, I'm sharing a simple but powerful mindset shift that has transformed the way I respond to these moments. Together, we'll explore why what we often call "attention-seeking" is usually something much deeper—a child's longing to be seen, heard, understood, and connected. If you've ever felt overwhelmed by the constant "Mom!" or wondered how to respond with more grace instead of frustration, I pray this conversation encourages you and reminds you that these moments are not interruptions to parenting—they're an invitation into deeper connection. 55. Sibling Fighting Driving You Crazy? The Mindset Shift That Changed Everything 16.07.2026 12mAre you exhausted by the constant sibling fighting in your home? If you've ever wondered how to stop sibling rivalry or questioned whether you're doing something wrong as a parent, this episode is for you. In today's episode, I'm sharing how Jesus has completely changed the way I view sibling conflict. I used to believe that peaceful parenting meant creating a home where my children rarely argued. But over the years, I've discovered that true peace isn't the absence of conflict—it's bringing the peace of Jesus into the middle of it. We'll talk about why sibling conflict is a normal and healthy part of childhood, what children are actually learning through disagreements, practical ways to reduce unnecessary friction, and how we can move from trying to be referees to becoming loving guides who teach kindness, repair, forgiveness, and teamwork. If you're raising siblings, I hope this conversation encourages you to see those everyday disagreements through a new lens. Rather than trying to eliminate conflict altogether, we can use these moments to help our children build the relationship skills they'll carry into friendships, marriage, church, and their own families someday. You are not failing because your children fight. With God's help, you can lovingly guide them through conflict and teach them how to become peacemakers. 54. Forgiving Your Parents Without Pretending It Didn’t Hurt: Healing, Boundaries, and Redemption 09.07.2026 23mForgiveness can feel especially tender when the hurt is connected to our parents. In this episode, I’m sharing part of my own journey of forgiveness, healing, and learning to release bitterness while still being honest about what hurt. We’ll walk through four gentle steps from The Book of Forgiving by Desmond Tutu and Mpho Tutu: telling the story, naming the hurt, granting forgiveness, and choosing whether to renew or release the relationship. Together, we’ll talk about what forgiveness is — and what it is not. Forgiveness does not mean pretending it didn’t hurt, excusing what was wrong, or forcing closeness where there has not been safety or repair. But with Jesus, forgiveness can become a pathway toward freedom, peace, and healing in our hearts. Whether your next step is renewal, release, or simply sitting with Jesus in the pain, I pray this episode reminds you that you do not have to rush your healing. God is gentle, His timing is kind, and He can be trusted with every part of your story. If your heart feels led, I would love to support you in your journey of healing. 53. Stressed Out, Exhausted, and Snapping at Your Kids? How to Find Grace When Motherhood Feels Hard 02.07.2026 15mHave you ever felt so worn out that the smallest things suddenly feel so overwhelming? In today’s episode, I’m talking about the kind of exhaustion that keeps us moving long after we have run out of energy—the exhaustion that can leave us feeling overwhelmed, short-tempered, and snapping at the people we love most. It’s not about trying harder or doing it perfectly. This is an invitation to bring compassion to the tired, frustrated parts of your heart and get curious about what may be hiding underneath the exhaustion. Could there be a fear that you are not enough? A fear that everything will fall apart if you slow down? Together, we will gently explore those questions and remember the beautiful truth that Jesus does not ask us to earn His love through productivity, perfection, or holding everything together. He sees your weary heart, and He invites you to come close, lay your burdens down, and receive His grace. I would love for you to join my Facebook group, and receive encouragement and support from other mamas who get it! You can join here: https://www.facebook.com/share/g/1HyMSYoP8E/ Much Love,🤍 Naomi -
52. When Fear Looks Like Yelling: Understanding What’s Beneath Your Parenting Anger 25.06.2026 19mHave you ever yelled at your child and then wondered, Why did I react so strongly? In this episode, I’m sharing a personal story about finding my 7-year-old hiding with my phone — and how quickly my mind jumped to fear, panic, and worst-case scenarios. But instead of reacting from that fear, God gently helped me pause, get curious, and create safety for an honest conversation. So often, what looks like anger or yelling in our parenting is really fear trying to protect what we love. Fear about our child’s safety, their future, our ability to guide them well, or what their behavior might mean. Together, we’ll talk about how to recognize the fear beneath our anger, how a “Stormy First Draft” can help us separate the facts from the fear story, and how inviting Jesus into those tender places can help us respond with more wisdom, connection, and peace. If you have been feeling discouraged by your reactions or longing to parent with more gentleness, I pray this episode reminds you that your fear and anger make sense — and that Jesus is not afraid to meet you there. Much Love,🤍Naomi
