Set Our Hearts Ablaze: Passion for the Gospel - Homily 22nd October 2026 22.10.2026 13mThe Gospel calls us not only to find peace and comfort, but also to embrace conversion, sacrifice, and the courage to stand firm in our faith. True zeal for the Gospel comes not from knowledge alone, but from experiencing the personal love of God rooted in the cross and nourished through the Eucharist. When we allow ourselves to be filled with this divine love, our indifference gives way to a genuine zeal that enables us to stand firm and love others even through rejection.Reflection Question: How is God’s love for me shaping my courage to live and proclaim the Gospel, even when it demands sacrifice? -
Are You Sharing the Good News? - William Cardinal Goh (Homily - 21 Oct 2026) 21.10.2026 13mThrough Christ, we have been given the infinite treasure of His grace and called into one body as God's children. But this gift isn't just for us to hold onto—we are called to share it boldly.Do I recognise the gift of being a child of God and who in my life needs me to boldly share this Good News with them? -
One Family in Christ - Homily 20th October 2026 20.10.2026 12mIn a world often divided by fear, self-interest, and human barriers, God’s original design for humanity remains unchanged: we are created as one family under one Heavenly Father. Through His ultimate sacrifice on the Cross, Jesus broke down the walls of division. Restored as citizens of heaven, members of God’s household, and living stones in His church, we are called to live out kingdom values rather than worldly standards. Living this call means remaining watchful and ready, opening our hearts to Christ in prayer and in the Eucharist, and recognising His presence in our brothers and sisters around us.Reflection Question: Where is God inviting me to break down a barrier and welcome Him into my life? -
Chosen by God: Understanding Your True Calling and Purpose - Homily 16th October 2026 16.10.2026 12mWe all seek connection and belonging, but the ultimate calling of our lives is belonging to God. God freely chose us, not because of our perfection or merit, but out of His infinite love. Being chosen by God is both an immense privilege and a sacred responsibility: we are called to let Christ’s light shine through us and glorify Him in all we do. Sealed by the Holy Spirit, we are reminded that even in times of trial, fear, or suffering, God's love holds us fast and transforms our perspective. When we interiorise this truth, our lives radiate His joy, forgiveness, and hope to the world.Reflection Question: How can I "recharge" in my spiritual life and remain confident that I am loved and chosen by Him? -
Discover God’s Plan for Our Lives - Homily 15th October 2026 15.10.2026 12mWithout faith, life can feel like a directionless drift where everything we cherish eventually fades. But St. Paul reminds us that God chose us before the creation of the world to be His beloved children and to live in the fullness of His love. True peace comes when we stop searching blindly and realise that God has already chosen us, offering an enduring hope and a permanent relationship that transforms our daily lives from mere survival into a meaningful pilgrimage.Reflection Question: Which area of my life do I feel like I am drifting? How does recognising that I am a child of God change my perspective of that struggle? -
Living in the Spirit - Homily 14th October 2026 14.10.2026 10mLaws, both religious and civil, provide essential boundaries. But they cannot transform the human heart. When we live strictly by the letter of the law, our devotion can easily become a burdensome duty or an exercise in self-righteousness. However, when we allow the Holy Spirit to guide us, our natural desires are elevated, and our actions are motivated by genuine love rather than compulsion. Living in the Spirit transcends external obligations, producing the fruitful qualities of love, joy, peace, and self-control that bring true fulfilment and complete the law.Reflection Question: How can I invite the Holy Spirit to transform duties driven by fear, obligation, or rules, into acts of love, joy, and true freedom? -
Discovering True Christian Freedom - Homily 13th October 2026 13.10.2026 14mSt. Paul reminds us that Christ freed us to remain truly free. True Christian freedom isn't doing whatever we want, nor is it a burden of endless do's and don'ts—it is living out of the joy of being deeply loved and forgiven by Jesus. When we realise our salvation is rooted in His love rather than our own merit, our entire life transforms from fearful obligation to joyful freedom.Reflection Question: In which areas of my spiritual life am I acting out of a fear of breaking rules rather than a joyful response to Christ's love? How can I surrender that fear to the Lord today? -
Beyond the Checklist: Laws Cannot Change Our Hearts - Homily 9th October 2026 09.10.2026 10mAre we following God’s laws out of fear or out of love? The laws help us distinguish right from wrong, but they cannot change our hearts. True transformation comes when we encounter the love and mercy of Jesus, who gave His life for us. Through faith in Christ, we learn to obey God not because we have to, but because we desire to love Him and our neighbours. Our faith is not about completing a checklist to earn God’s love, but responding to the love we have already received.Reflection Question: What is my motivation for obeying God? How can I allow His love to transform my heart and the way I live? -
Rediscovering the Joy of Being Christian - Homily 8th October 2026 08.10.2026 13mIs being a Christian a burden or a source of joy? St Paul reminds the Galatians that salvation is God's free gift, received through faith, not earned through our own efforts. Through the Holy Spirit, we are invited to live out our faith not out of fear or obligation, but in gratitude for God's love. Church teachings, sacraments and practices are not burdens to endure, but means that help us grow closer to God. When we allow the Holy Spirit to work in us, our obedience becomes an expression of love, and our service becomes a joyful response to the grace we have received.Reflection Question: How can I move from practicing my faith out of obligation to living it with joy, gratitude and openness to the Holy Spirit? -
The Trap of Spiritual Pride: Serving Our Ego - Homily 6th October 2026 06.10.2026 12mOur desire to be useful and to contribute to others is good, but even our service can become a source of pride when our motives are not purified. True service begins when we stop seeking recognition and allow God to work in and through us. When we focus less on ourselves and more on the Lord, our service becomes an expression of love rather than a search for affirmation. Let us ask God to search our hearts and purify our motives, so that we may serve with humility, freedom and joy.Reflection Question: When I serve others or the Church, what truly motivates me? -
Do Guardian Angels Really Exist Today? 02.10.2026 9mCelebrating the Memorial of the Guardian Angels serves as a poignant reminder that God never leaves us to walk life’s journey alone. Recognising angelic presence requires dual posture: we are called both to be angels: messengers of divine care to the vulnerable around us; and to cultivate the humility needed to receive help from the human and spiritual angels God sends into our lives. By embracing childlike docility, we open our hearts to recognise God’s protective love active in our daily lives through His appointed guardians. -
3 Pillars of St. Thérèse’s "Little Way" 01.10.2026 14mSt. Thérèse of the Child Jesus demonstrated that true greatness in the eyes of God is not found in grand achievements or status, but in cultivating a childlike heart defined by simplicity, complete trust, and extraordinary love in ordinary tasks. Like St. Thérèse, a childlike spirit surrenders completely to God’s care and remains peaceful through daily trials. By choosing to do small actions with great love and seeing the suffering Christ in those whom we find difficult to love, we allow daily challenges to refine us into saints. -
The Cost of True Discipleship 30.09.2026 14mFollowing Christ requires urgent action, single-minded focus, and the willingness to give completely of ourselves even through suffering and discomfort. Procrastination, divided loyalties, and a desire for ease only pull us away from our true mission. Ultimately, authentic faith challenges us to move beyond superficial commitment and embrace the self-giving love that Christ demands of every true disciple. -
How the Archangels Help Us in Spiritual Warfare 29.09.2026 13mOn the Feast of Sts. Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael, we are reminded that an unseen spiritual warfare continues to unfold in our daily lives through division, pride, and moral ambiguity. While modern self-sufficiency often masks this struggle, God provides the Archangels as powerful allies: St. Michael protects us against pride and deception, St. Gabriel strengthens us to fulfil God's will, and St. Raphael offers spiritual vision and healing. By seeking their intercession and embracing our own call to act as protectors and healers for one another, we overcome the subtle traps of the evil one and anchor our hearts in God's truth. -
Finding Value and Serving as a Child of God - William Cardinal Goh (Homily - 28 Sep 2026) 28.09.2026 12mBy calling a child the greatest, Jesus reveals that our true worth lies not in our achievements, status, or power, but in being children of God made in His image. He warns that self-importance leads to spiritual ruin, urging us to embrace humility and serve God and others rather than seek personal recognition.Do I recognise my value as a child of God, or do I find it in worldly things? -
Is Your Life Focused on What Truly Matters? - Homily 24th September 2026 24.09.2026 13mOur busy lives can easily distract us from the questions that matter most: What are we living for? What truly gives our life meaning? The reality of life reminds us that our time is short. We are therefore called to pause, examine our lives, and ask whether we are living with purpose and without regret. In Jesus, we encounter the truth about ourselves and discover the way to true meaning.Reflection Question: What are you truly living for, and what might God be inviting you to change? -
Finding Peace Through Contentment - Homily 23rd September 2026 23.09.2026 14mThe Book of Proverbs reminds us, true tranquility is found not in the extremes of wealth or poverty, but in a life of balance, moderation, and intentional contentment. When we cling tightly to material security, we risk placing our trust in perishable things rather than in God, making Him an afterthought rather than our foundation. By practicing daily detachment, embracing our role as pilgrims, and relying on God for our "daily bread”, we free ourselves from the endless shift of life's goalposts and step into the authentic, lasting peace that only divine trust can provide.Reflection Question: What do I need to surrender to God so that I can live with greater contentment and trust today? -
Finding True Peace in the Will of God 22.09.2026 14mExternal achievements and worldly successes offer only temporary happiness, which fades as circumstances change. Deep and lasting peace is born of a clear conscience and a commitment to doing the will of God. Unlike fleeting happiness, true joy is a spiritual gift rooted in deep faith, assuring us of god’s presence through every trial, hardship, and suffering. By looking to the example of Mary and keeping our hearts rooted in God's word, we find a steady, calm assurance that frees us from fear and fills our lives with lasting purpose. What temporary attachment or worry is the Lord asking me to surrender so I can align my heart with His will and experience true peace? -
Resurrection: The Foundation of our Faith - Homily 18th September 2026 18.09.2026 14mThe entire weight of the Christian faith hinges on this single truth: Jesus genuinely died and physically rose from the dead. Because of the Resurrection, we can have confidence in the resurrection of our own bodies, the forgiveness of our sins, and the fullness of life that awaits us. This faith gives meaning to how we live today: to sacrifice, serve others, endure suffering, and remain faithful even in difficult times. Because Christ is risen, our lives have a destination and our hope is grounded in Him.Reflection Question: How will believing in Christ’s Resurrection shape the way I live, suffer, serve, and hope today? -
True Conversion: Moving From the Head to the Heart - Homily 17th September 2026 17.09.2026 11mGod’s forgiveness is more than just an intellectual knowledge that our sins are absolved; it requires breaking through spiritual numbness so His mercy can truly touch our hearts. Like the tearful woman at Jesus's feet and St. Paul, when we recognise the true gravity of our sins and experience Christ's personal love, our lives are transformed. Through the tangible gift of the Sacraments, Jesus meets us where we are so we can let go of guilt, forgive ourselves, and respond with deep gratitude.Reflection Question: When I examine my own spiritual life, in which areas have I become numb to my recurring faults, and how can I cultivate true remorse and receive God's healing love?
