He killed Christine as she was planning to leave him and maintained the murders were an accident.   In September 2021 in Derbyshire, 35 year old Terri Harris was killed by her partner Damien Bendall – she was pregnant at the time. He also killed her two children – 13 year old John Paul and 11 year old Lacey and Lacey’s friend Connie Gent. He also raped Lacey.  Bendall pled guilty and received a whole-life sentence.   In 1805 in Lincolnshire a heavily pregnant Mary Kirkham was found dead – she had been killed.  A local Navvy called Tom Otter was soon arrested for her murder. They had married just the day before – unbeknownst to Mary it was Tom Otter’s second marriage and he already had another wife and child as well.  Thought to have killed her to escape the responsibility of a family, Otter was found guilty of murder and sentenced to death. He was the last man in Lincolnshire to be gibbeted and his name is carried across the area.   In December 1975, 28 year old Becky Harrington and her two children – 9 year old Pamela and 4 year old Cassandra were shot and killed by Detroit police officer and husband and father, Paul Harrington. This was just one week after the couple had separated.  Harrington handed himself in after killing his whole family and was charged with three counts of murder. He was acquitted by reason of insanity and spent two months in a psychiatric institution.  25 years later in October 1999, Wanda Harrington and her 3 year old son Brian were shot and killed by husband and father, none other than Paul Harrington. He had killed his second family.   In December 2022 35 year old Anju Asok and her children 6 year old Jeeva and 4 year old Janvi were killed by husband and father Saju Chelavalel while living in Kettering in the UK. Anju and her children were killed by an abusive Chelavalel who thought wrongly that Anju was having an affair.   In January 2016 the bodies of 43 year old Sian Blake and her sons 8 year old Zachary and 4 year old Amon were discovered in a shallow grave in the garden of their home they shared with Sian’s partner and the boys’ father Arthur Simpson-Blake.  Former EastEnders actress Sian was living under the control of Simpson-Kent for most of their relationship and had recently been diagnosed with the neurological condition of motor neurone disease. She was getting ready to leave Simpson-Kent and his controlling ways. He also shot Kerry and Lisa’s father Thomas who was with them that evening and shot and injured Kerry’s new boyfriend 22 year old Christoper Gall. He survived. Baker then jumped in a car and went on to shoot and kill his 27 year old son David Baker and then travelled to kill 35 year old Ross Smith and 25 year old Leslie Read who was reportedly pregnant at the time. Baker blamed Ross for a failed business deal. Baker was a violent, abusive and controlling perpetrator who sought revenge on his ex-girlfriend who had left him to protect herself. Victoria’s 9 month old daughter was also in the house but left physically unharmed.  Although he killed them in their home – he had come from his parent’s house – as at that point he had been charged with multiple sexual offences against his daughters Victoria and Elizabeth and they had secured a protection order against him.  Thought to be motivated by eliminating Jean, Victoria and Elizabeth as witnesses in the sexual offences case against him, Wholaver was convicted of the murders and sentenced to death. She was 18 weeks pregnant with her fourth child. Her husband Andrew Griggs told police that Debbie left their house after an argument just never came back. Although police doubted Griggs story of events, they didn’t have enough evidence to charge him at the time as the search for Debbie continued to turn up nothing. It would take her family over 20 years to finally see justice. Prompted by Debbie’s family to re-investigate in 2015, Kent Police Cold Case team took up Debbie’s case. What they found was evidence of coercive control, sexual abuse by Griggs and forensic evidence that meant they could finally arrest Debbie’s husband for her murder. Griggs was later convicted of her murder and started serving a prison sentence. In 2022, police received a new lead on where Debbie’s body might be – from the most unexpected source – one of Debbie’s now adult children. The body of Debbie and her 18 week old unborn baby was found in the garden of Griggs’ house in Dorset that he moved into in 2001.   In January 2008, four children Hannah, Lindsey, Danny and Ryan were killed by their father and stepfather Lam Luong. He threw them all off the Dauphin Bridge in Alabama. Their mother, 23 year old Kieu Phan was left devastated.   Episode 104 - Carol and Christopher Stuart 05.06.2026 39m

  In October 1989 30 year old Carol Stuart was shot and killed in her car in Boston when she was with her husband Charles Stuart. She was seven months pregnant with their first child. Charles or Chuck Stuart was also shot in the stomach and called 911 from his car phone.  Once first responders reached Carol and Chuck they transported them to hospital. Chuck survived but sadly Carol died later that evening – her baby was delivered by C section weeks premature and baptised Christopher Stuart. Sadly he died 17 days later and both his and Carol’s deaths were treated as murder.  Chuck told police that a black man car jacked them and shot them both and so ensued a manhunt through the city of Boston with a man called Willie Bennet arrested for the murders of Carol and Christopher. Then Chuck’s brother Matthew blew the case wide open as he told police that it was Chuck who had shot and killed Carol to get her life insurance.   In January 2012 31 year old Sarah Laycock and her eight year old daughter Abigail were killed by Sarah’s partner John Miller in Garforth in Leeds. Their 4 year old daughter survived but was left alone with the bodies of her mother and sister for over 12 hours.  An abusive man with a history of controlling behaviour, Miller was arrested after the murders and convicted – but only of manslaughter.
