  • 38. Every Action Shapes the CPA You Are Becoming 09.06.2026 15m
🎙 Becoming the Person Who Passes the CPA Exam (Part 3 of 3)Every Action Shapes the CPA You Are BecomingEpisode SummaryIn this episode, Dawn brings her 3-part series on becoming the person who passes the CPA Exam to a powerful close — and this final piece is where everything comes together. In Part 1, we looked at how a non-passing score can quietly create a failure identity — and how to return to the truth that you are already a success. In Part 2, we explored the pattern of putting everyone else first — and how including yourself changes everything about how you show up to study. Now in Part 3, Dawn takes it one step further.Because once you have your success identity and you've made yourself a priority, the next question is: who are you being while you take action? This episode is about studying not from a place of proving yourself or fixing yourself — but from the identity of someone who already knows they are capable of success. That shift changes the energy behind every study session, every follow-through, and every return after getting off track.Dawn introduces the idea of your future CPA self — not as something to pretend, but as a way to live into the person you are already becoming. And she shows you how every time you sit down to study, you are not just learning material. You are building evidence. You are shaping your identity. You are becoming the person who passes. This episode is for CPA Exam candidates who are ready to stop waiting to feel confident and start taking action from a place of knowing they are already a success.🎯 What You'll Learn in This Episode1. Why a Study Plan Alone Is Never Enough A plan matters. Strategies matter. But if you're studying from a failure identity or from the bottom of your own priority list, even the best plan won't hold. Dawn explains why identity is the missing piece.2. What It Means to Take Action from a New Identity Instead of studying to prove yourself or fix yourself, you begin taking action from the identity of someone who already knows they are capable. Dawn explains how this shift changes the energy behind everything you do.3. Your Future CPA Self Dawn introduces the concept of your future CPA self — the version of you who has already passed, looking back. This isn't pretending. It's a powerful way to motivate yourself forward from where you already are.4. Why You Don't Have to Wait to See Yourself Differently You don't have to wait for a passing score to start showing up like someone who succeeds. Dawn shows you how to begin living into that identity now — today — before the result arrives.5. How Every Study Session Becomes Evidence When you study from a success identity, your sessions stop being just about hours logged. They become evidence that you follow through, that you keep commitments, that setbacks don't define you, and that your goals matter.6. Why Consistency Matters More Than Intensity Becoming the person who passes isn't built through one perfect week. It's built through repeated follow-through over time — one session, one return after getting off track, one decision to keep going.7. How Your Identity Keeps Evolving With Every Action You Take Becoming the person who passes doesn't happen all at once. Every time you sit down to study, return after getting off track, and protect the time you said mattered, you stop waiting to someday become that person — and you start living into that version of yourself now.Key TakeawayConfidence doesn't come before action. It comes after.Every time you sit down to study, every time you return after getting off track, every time you protect the time you said mattered — you are reinforcing a new identity. Not a failure identity. Not an identity where everyone else comes first. But the identity of someone who already knows they are a success, someone who keeps going, someone who follows through, someone who finishes. That's who you are. And that's who you are becoming.🎙️ Referenced Episodes🎧 Episode 36: Becoming the Person Who Passes the CPA Exam (Part 1 of 3)🎧 Episode 37: Becoming the Person Who Passes the CPA Exam (Part 2 of 3)Your Next Steps:👉 Click HERE to get your FREE Ultimate CPA Exam Success Checklist download and custom GPT.👉 Click HERE to join my next MasterclassThanks for listening to today's episode of the CPA Exam Success Podcast. You are already the person who passes. • 37. From Putting Others First to Prioritizing Yourself Also 02.06.2026 13m
🎙 Becoming the Person Who Passes the CPA Exam (Part 2 of 3)From Putting Others First to Prioritizing Yourself AlsoWhy Your Study Plan Isn't the Problem — and What Actually IsEpisode SummaryIn this episode, Dawn continues her 3-part series on becoming the person who passes the CPA Exam with a shift that many candidates never see coming — the pattern of putting others first and leaving yourself out of the equation entirely. Most CPA Exam candidates already know what they need to do. They have a study plan. They're capable. They're responsible. But following through consistently? That's where things fall apart. In this episode, Dawn reveals why — and it has nothing to do with your study plan. The real challenge is that for many candidates, everything external comes first. Work. Other people. Other responsibilities. And by the time all of that is handled, there's nothing left for the CPA Exam. Not because you don't care — but because you were never on your own priority list to begin with. This episode walks you through three patterns that make following through harder than it needs to be, and introduces one simple but powerful shift: putting yourself also. This episode is for CPA Exam candidates who are responsible, dependable, and great at showing up for everyone else — but struggle to show up consistently for themselves.🎯 What You'll Learn in This Episode1. Why Knowing What to Do Isn't Enough Most candidates don't have a knowledge problem — they have a follow-through problem. Dawn explains why mindset, not strategy, is what gets in the way of consistent studying.2. The First Pattern: You're Used to Putting Others First If you're highly responsible and dependable for everyone around you, you already have the skill of consistency. You're just applying it everywhere except your CPA Exam prep.3. The Second Pattern: External Responsibilities Always Come First Work, people, obligations — these take priority. And studying for the CPA Exam gets whatever time is left. Dawn explains why this structure makes consistent studying nearly impossible.4. The Third Pattern: You're Not Including Yourself If your priorities are all external, you are not part of your own priority list. Your goals come last. Your study time gets pushed aside. And even the best study plan can't survive that.5. How to Tell What Your Real Priorities Are Your priorities aren't what you think they are — they're what you actually show up for. Dawn walks you through a simple honest look at where you really are on your own list.6. The Shift: Put Yourself Also This isn't about putting yourself first or doing less for others. It's about including yourself. Dawn introduces the idea of "put yourself also" — and why that one small shift changes everything about how you show up to study.7. What Changes When You're Part of the Plan When your study time actually has a place in your day, following through becomes possible. Dawn shows you what that looks like in real life and why your plan finally gets a chance to work.Key TakeawayStudying for the CPA Exam is a personal commitment — and personal commitments are the easiest ones to push aside. This isn't about doing more. It's about including yourself. When you become one of your own top priorities, your study plan stops competing with everything else and starts becoming part of your day. That's when consistency becomes possible. And that's when passing becomes possible.🎙️Referenced Episodes🎧 Episode 36: Becoming the Person Who Passes the CPA Exam (Part 1 of 3)Your Next Steps:👉 Click HERE to get your FREE Ultimate CPA Exam Success Checklist download and custom GPT.👉 Click HERE to join my next MasterclassThanks for listening to today's episode of the CPA Exam Success Podcast. You are already a priority. • 36. From Feeling Like a Failure to Recognizing Your Success 26.05.2026 19m
🎙 Becoming the Person Who Passes the CPA Exam (Part 1 of 3)From Feeling Like a Failure to Recognizing Your SuccessYou Haven't Failed — You Just Haven't Passed YetEpisode SummaryIn this episode, Dawn kicks off a 3-part series on becoming the person who passes the CPA Exam — because passing isn't just about what you study. It's about how you show up to the process. Many CPA Exam candidates arrive at this exam having succeeded in nearly everything before it — school, their careers, life. But after one non-passing score, something shifts. The identity of "someone who succeeds" can quietly become "someone who fails." And that shift, more than anything else, is what keeps candidates stuck. This episode is about catching that shift before it takes hold — and returning to the truth of who you already are.Dawn walks you through why your score is not a reflection of your ability, how a negative identity gets built over time (and why it isn't true), and what it actually means to become the person who passes the CPA Exam — before you actually pass it.This episode is for CPA Exam candidates who have started to question themselves, feel discouraged by non-passing scores, or wonder if they have what it takes — and need a reminder of who they already are.🎯 What You'll Learn in This Episode1. Why You Were Already a Success Before This Exam To be eligible to sit for the CPA Exam, you've already done something remarkable. Dawn reminds you of the evidence of your success that's already there — and why none of it disappeared after a non-passing score.2. How a Non-Passing Score Can Shift Your Identity A score below 75 is just a score. But for many candidates, it becomes something more — a story about who they are. Dawn explains how this shift happens and why it doesn't reflect your actual ability.3. The Danger of Persistence Without Change Showing up again and again matters — but only when it's paired with a study approach that works for you. Dawn breaks down why simply doing more of the same, with more stress, rarely changes the result.4. How to Separate Your Identity from Your Score Your score tells you what hasn't worked yet. It doesn't tell you anything about your ability or your potential. Dawn shows you how to stop making a non-passing score mean something bad about you — and how to get curious about what to do differently instead.5. Why Becoming the Person Who Passes Is Built Over Time Identity isn't created in a single moment. It's built through consistent action — showing up, honoring your commitments, and learning to trust yourself. Dawn shows you how this process works and why it matters more than any single result.6. What to Do When Persistence Isn't Producing Results If you're studying hard but not seeing progress, the issue may not be effort — it may be approach. Dawn helps you get curious about what to change, rather than continuing to do the same thing with more stress and struggle.7. Why Becoming Is Also Returning Becoming the person who passes the CPA Exam doesn't mean starting from zero. It means reconnecting with how you already show up when you succeed — and applying that here, in a new way.Key TakeawayYou are not a failure. You just haven't passed the CPA Exam yet.The biggest shift isn't about your score. It's about the identity you attach to it. When you return to who you already are — someone who succeeds — and pair that with a study approach that actually works for you, the experience gets better, progress becomes visible, and passing becomes possible.🎙️Referenced Episodes🎧 Episode 32: From Stress to Action🎧 Episode 34: Protecting Your Focus During CPA Exam PrepYour Next Steps:👉 Click HERE to get your FREE Ultimate CPA Exam Success Checklist download and custom GPT.👉 Click HERE to join my next MasterclassThanks for listening to today's episode of the CPA Exam Success Podcast. You are already a success!Knowing that is what gets you all the way to the CPA Exam finish line 🏁👉 Get Coached: Transform your CPA Exam prep and your life so that this process becomes simple, doable, and enjoyable.👩🏻‍💻 Want to CHAT first on Zoom before signing up?©MIAMI COACH CONNECTION, INC. 🎙 Protecting Your Focus During CPA Exam PrepWhy Staying on Track — Not Studying Longer — Is What Creates Real ProgressEpisode SummaryIn this episode, Dawn walks you through the critical shift from getting into action to staying on track — because starting your CPA Exam prep is only the beginning. Many CPA Exam candidates begin studying with strong intentions, but struggle to stay focused, consistent, and engaged during their study sessions. When that happens, it’s easy to assume the problem is not having enough time. So they try to add more hours — but still don’t see the progress they expected. This episode reframes that entire experience. The issue is not how much time you have — it’s how well you protect your focus during the time you already committed to studying. Dawn breaks down why focus is the real driver of progress and how learning to return to your work, again and again, is the skill that leads to CPA Exam Success. You’ll learn why distractions are normal, how to stop making them mean something has gone wrong, and how to build the ability to come back to your study session quickly and effectively. This episode is for CPA Exam candidates who are showing up to study but feel distracted, inconsistent, or frustrated — and want a simpler, more effective way to stay on track and move forward.🎯 What You’ll Learn in This Episode1. But in this conversation, Dawn reveals that the real challenge is often where your attention is placed during your study time. When your attention stays on stress, overwhelm, and doubt, progress slows. When your attention shifts to action, movement begins. This episode walks you through how to redirect your focus away from analyzing the problem and toward taking the next useful step — even when you don’t feel ready or confident yet. You’ll learn why small, simple actions are more effective than waiting for the “right” feeling, how your brain naturally pulls you toward stress, and how to gently guide yourself back to action. This episode is for CPA Exam candidates who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or caught in overthinking — and want a clear, grounded way to start moving forward again.🎯 What You’ll Learn in This Episode1. • 30. 8 Mistakes I Did Not Make to Pass the CPA Exam 17.03.2026 38m
🎙 8 Mistakes I Didn’t Make to Pass the CPA ExamA Simpler Approach That Builds Consistency, Clarity, and ProgressEpisode SummaryIn this episode, I walk you through eight mistakes I didn’t make while preparing for the CPA Exam—and that I see many candidates making. I truly believe that most candidates are not struggling because they lack intelligence, discipline, or time. More often, they are unintentionally making the process harder than it needs to be.I share how CPA Exam preparation does not require constant intensity, but instead requires consistency and a simple, repeatable approach. When I simplified my process, it became easier to keep showing up—and that is what allowed my progress to build over time.If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or discouraged, this episode will help you simplify your approach so you can stay consistent, build momentum, and move steadily toward the CPA Exam finish line.🎯 What You’ll Learn in This Episode1. Mistake #1 I Didn’t Make: I Didn’t Wait Until I Had More TimeI learned that just having more time does not mean I would study. Instead of waiting for the perfect schedule, I used the time I had—even if it was just 15 minutes. By planning my week in advance and scheduling my study sessions, I removed the daily decision of whether or not to study. My only job became showing up.2. Mistake #2 I Didn’t Make: I Didn’t Try to Memorize EverythingI didn’t try to memorize everything. I let action guide my learning. When I practiced questions, I got immediate feedback on what I understood and what I didn’t. Instead of staying stuck in passive review, I focused on getting to “good enough” understanding so I could move forward and continue learning.3. Mistake #3 I Didn’t Make: I Didn’t Keep Restarting My Study PlanI didn’t keep restarting every time something felt difficult. Instead, I reviewed what I did each week, assessed what worked and what didn’t, and made small adjustments. Restarting keeps you stuck. Continuing—and adjusting—is what creates progress.4. Mistake #4 I Didn’t Make: I Didn’t Force Myself to Follow the Review Course ExactlyI didn’t force myself to follow my review course perfectly. I used it as a resource and adjusted how I studied based on how I learn best. The goal was not to follow a program perfectly—it was to understand the material well enough to answer questions correctly on exam day.5. Mistake #5 I Didn’t Make: I Didn’t Avoid Weak AreasI didn’t avoid weak areas. I approached them with curiosity. Weak areas gave me information about what needed more attention. Instead of seeing them as a problem, I saw them as direction—showing me exactly where I could improve.6. Mistake #6 I Didn’t Make: I Didn’t Treat Bad Days as Proof It Wasn’t WorkingI accepted that not every study session would feel productive. Some days were harder than others, but I didn’t make that mean anything about my ability or my plan. What mattered most was returning to the next scheduled study session. Progress came from showing up over time, not from having perfect days.7. Mistake #7 I Didn’t Make: I Didn’t Wait to Feel MotivatedI didn’t wait to feel motivated. I expected resistance and showed up anyway. I focused on my commitment—my desire, my belief, and my willingness to keep going. I took action first, and motivation followed later.8. Mistake #8 I Didn’t Make: I Didn’t Try to Focus on Everything at OnceI didn’t try to tackle everything at once. I focused on the next step. I broke the process down into one exam, one week, and one study session at a time. During each study block, I focused only on what was in front of me—and that kept the process simple and manageable.Key TakeawayI didn’t pass the CPA Exam by making the process more complicated—I passed by simplifying it. When you focus on the next step, use the time you have, and keep showing up, progress begins to build and compound over time. You don’t need perfection. You just need to continue.👉 Click HERE to get your FREE Ultimate CPA Exam Success Checklist download and custom GPT.Thanks for listening to today’s episode of the CPA Exam Success Podcast. 🎙 The Three Essential Ingredients for CPA Exam SuccessA Simple Approach to Studying That Builds Consistency, Progress, and EaseEpisode SummaryIn this episode, Dawn breaks down the three essential ingredients for CPA Exam Success: time, materials, and willingness. While many candidates believe passing the CPA Exam requires complicated strategies or endless study hours, Dawn explains that the process can be much simpler when you focus on these three core elements. You’ll learn how to use your time intentionally, how to work effectively with any CPA review program, and why willingness is the deciding factor that determines whether you follow through on your study plan. Dawn also introduces a simple time framework that helps you find more time in your week and explains how these three ingredients naturally create a study process that feels more effective, sustainable, and efficient. This episode is designed for CPA candidates who feel overwhelmed by the study process and want to simplify their approach so they can stay consistent, build momentum, and move steadily toward the CPA Exam finish line.🎯 What You’ll Learn in This Episode1. The First Essential Ingredient: Time (and How to Find More of It)Dawn explains that effective study sessions include both focused study time and intentional breaks. You’ll learn how to build study stamina by recognizing when your brain needs a break and why studying in focused cycles helps create a higher return on your time and effort. She also shares an important mindset shift: when you are not studying, the CPA Exam does not exist. For candidates who feel like they don’t have enough time to study, Dawn introduces her TIME framework: Track, Inventory, Manage, and Enjoy. By tracking how you spend your time for one week, identifying what can stay and what can change, and intentionally designing your week, you can create space for CPA Exam prep while still protecting the personal time that matters most.2. The Second Essential Ingredient: MaterialsMany candidates worry about choosing the “perfect” CPA review program. Dawn explains that all review programs work when they are used intentionally. The key is to trust the program you have, complete it, and adjust how you use it so it aligns with your learning style. With consistent learning, practice, and review, you can build a study system that works for you.3. The Third Essential Ingredient: WillingnessWillingness is the deciding factor in CPA Exam Success. Dawn explains that passing the exam requires a willingness to show up, study, sit for the exam, and stay the course even when fear, doubt, or uncertainty appear. You’ll learn why deciding once to pursue the CPA Exam — instead of repeatedly starting and stopping — can change how you move through the entire process.4. The Bonus Ingredient That Naturally Follows: EASEWhen time, materials, and willingness come together, a fourth ingredient naturally appears: ease. Dawn explains how studying can become more effective, actionable, sustainable, and efficient when your study system aligns with how you learn.Key TakeawayCPA Exam Success doesn’t require a complicated system. When you intentionally manage your time, use your study materials in a way that works for you, and stay willing to show up and take action, you create a process that moves you steadily toward the CPA Exam finish line.👉 Click HERE to get your FREE Ultimate CPA Exam Success Checklist download and custom GPT.Thanks for listening to today’s episode of the CPA Exam Success Podcast.
