Radio X is a British National commercial radio station that is owned by Global and focuses on alternative music, primarily indie rock. The station was originally launched in 1989 as a pirate radio station named Q102, before being renamed Xfm in 1992. It became a legally licensed London-wide station in 1997, and in 2015 began national broadcasting under the name Radio X. It has been located at Capital\'s headquarters at Leicester Square, London since 1998, when it was acquired by the Capital Radio Group, now part of Global Radio. The station has a significant history of employing personalities who have gone on to achieve greater fame, including Russell Brand, Karl Pilkington, Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant, Simon Pegg, Christian O\'Connell, and others1. As of March 2023, the station broadcasts to a weekly audience of 2.0 million, according to RAJAR. The station currently employs a diverse group of presenters, engineers, journalists, and producers, with Chris Moyles and Johnny Vaughan being among the notable presenters.
