AI-Native Artera Fills Gaps in Care and Provider Performance 04.11.2026 37mAI agents in healthcare are changing how patients reach their care teams. In this interview, Artera CEO and Co-founder Guillaume de Zwirek explains what an AI-native approach to patient communication really looks like. He breaks down conversational AI in healthcare (https://artera.io/) : an AI agent that understands why a patient is calling, books the visit or handles the refill in plain language, and closes care gaps on the same call instead of chasing people with callbacks they ignore. He also shows how Artera's AI agents in healthcare (https://artera.io/) keep staff in control, and makes the case for why safety, not memory, is the real moat, and why rigid phone-tree IVR systems are on their way out.Learn more about Artera: https://artera.io/Healthcare IT Community: https://www.healthcareittoday.com/ -

Delivering Clear Data for Patient Care at xCures 19.10.2026 10mHundreds of companies are offering AI for clinical and other healthcare related uses. Kenny Wong, Chief Product Officer at xCures, offers two criteria for judging the value of a solution: first whether the outcome is repeatable and shows the work that was done transparently, and second whether it is generating a desired result such as saving you time.In our recent interview at the Civitas conference, Wong reviews his background in genetics, the history of xCures, and the state of data today. He estimates that 80% of healthcare data is "messy," meaning it exists in unstructured formats such as PDFs and JPEGs. xCures can extract the information needed for patient care from these sources—what Wong calls a "clinical clarity engine."Learn more about xCures: https://xcures.com/Healthcare IT Community: https://www.healthcareittoday.com/ -
How BridgeLink and Innovar Healthcare Are Advancing Open Source Healthcare Integration 16.10.2026 18mInnovar Healthcare is known for data movement and integration in healthcare: any data in any format, between any set of customers. One major trait that distinguishes Innovar from nearly all services in health care today is that it offers and supports open source tools, which is common in other industries. In our recent interview at the Civitas conference, CEO and Founder Loyd Bittle talks about security, administrative convenience, and use cases for his company's integrations. The first part of our interview is devoted to security incidents. Bittle points out that while open source code (and nowadays AI) makes it easier for malicious intruders to attack, it also makes it easier for researchers to uncover bugs, and for Innovar to provide patches. This actually happened recently when researchers discovered a security issue with the open source Mirth Connect project which Innovar Healthcare and the community forked to create BridgeLink. Once Innovar and the BridgeLink community learned about the security issues, they were able to address them quickly. Bittle notes that it's now unsafe to continue using the insecure open source Mirth Connect project.Learn more about Innovar Healthcare: https://www.innovarhealthcare.com/Learn more about BridgeLink: https://www.bridgelink.net/Healthcare IT Community: https://www.healthcareittoday.com/ -

Why Healthcare Needs Coordinated Infrastructure, Not More Point Solutions 23.09.2026 21mCotiviti ties together providers and payers, including the top 25 US health plans, that collectively serve 300 million members in the United States. In this video, CEO Ric Sinclair describes how the "friction" between providers and payers can be resolved by leveraging smarter infrastructure like what Cotiviti provides.Sinclair looks beyond technology and data, even beyond the use of AI, to talk about how an underlying platform can bring together all the expert insights and reduce the waste in health care. Ultimately, he wants to eliminate denials and appeals by "getting it right the first time" in billing. This requires more than the application of AI in "silos," which he predicts are not sustainable. "Coordination" is a key concept he shares while talking about being a healthcare infrasrtucture company that creates value for its users.Learn more about Cotiviti: https://www.cotiviti.com/Healthcare IT Community: https://www.healthcareittoday.com/ -

The Healthcare Infrastructure Working Behind the Scenes 16.09.2026 33mOne of the most interesting organizations in healthcare is Civitas Networks for Health. This non-profit organization brings together some of the key organizations that provide the national infrastructure for health and health data. One of their best venues to convene their community is at the upcoming Civitas 2026 Annual conference.I recently sat down with Jolie Ritzo, CEO at Civitas Networks for Health, Anne Santifer, Executive Director at Arkansas State Health Alliance for Records Exchange, and Dan Cranshaw, Executive Director at KC Health Collaborative, to learn more about what's happening in the Civitas community and get a preview of their annual conference. One thing they shared was how often healthcare infrastructure serves an important purpose but goes unrecognized. This is by design. For example, an HIE (Health Information Exchange) may make a patient's information from multiple organizations available to a clinician at the point of care. The clinician and patient often have no idea how the information from external organizations was made available to them, but having that data often improves care. Good infrastructure like an HIE quietly does this work in the background, often with little recognition.Learn more about Civitas: https://civitasforhealth.org/Learn more about Arkansas State Health Alliance for Records Exchange: https://sharearkansas.com/Learn more about KC Health Collaborative: https://www.kchealthcollaborative.org/Healthcare IT Community: https://www.healthcareittoday.com/ -

AI and Automation Are Reshaping Revenue Cycle Management 17.08.2026 13mAnurag Mehta, Chief Executive Officer and Cofounder at Omega Healthcare, has seen a 10-20% increase in human productivity through AI in revenue cycle management (RCM), and expects at least another 20% improvement over the next couple of years. In our recent interview, Mehta describes the current stresses in healthcare RCM and where AI can help. When you improve RCM, Mehta says, you improve profits in two ways: by handling bills more efficiently and by getting higher reimbursements by avoiding errors. Thanks to traditional techniques known as robotic process automation (RPA) and the latest AI, you can check 100% of submissions and prior authorization requests rather than just a small subset. Plus, for provider organizations, improved profitability also leads to better credit ratings and further savings.Learn more about Omega Healthcare: https://www.omegahms.com/Healthcare IT Community: https://www.healthcareittoday.com/
