Some memories age like vinyl. Others age like PS2 graphics on a giant TV. 22.10.2026 48mThis week’s Sesh starts with old-school video games and ends with a Mexico story that escalates way past “we should probably find our friend.” In between? Strict parents, forbidden cartoons, questionable movie nights, and a very important question: was that childhood favorite actually good, or were you just twelve? With Midtown Haze in the Volcano, we revisit the chaos of Manhunt, the love for Splinter Cell, and the absolute insanity of Conker’s Bad Fur Day. Then we take the scenic route through VHS memories, The Heavenly Kid, and the horror movies that make you laugh versus the ones that actually get under your skin.Naturally, that turns into Navy stories, Tijuana adventures, and a dad who could negotiate a deal through sheer eye contact. It’s a happy, rambling, “how the hell did we get here?” kind of sesh. Pull up a chair. You’re in good company.Inside this sesh:Why some classic games still hit—and others should stay a memory.Childhood gaming limits and cartoons we weren’t allowed to watch.A Heavenly Kid recap that becomes its own side quest.Midtown Haze check-in: happy, chill, and thoroughly off-topic.Horror favorites, chainsaw hands, and one deeply questionable movie night.Navy memories, Mexico misadventures, and the art of holding your price.Chapters00:00 — Rockstar games were a different kind of wild04:19 — Does nostalgia actually hold up?09:04 — Minecraft, gaming with kids, and the backlog12:19 — Racing games and earning your Nintendo time15:27 — Syphon Filter, Conker, and childhood chaos18:42 — Forbidden cartoons and VHS memories20:14 — The Heavenly Kid rabbit hole29:22 — Midtown Haze in the Volcano29:49 — Popcorn movies and horror favorites36:14 — A movie night that took a turn38:08 — Navy memories and visits from home40:23 — Tijuana trips and Rosarito adventures43:26 — Finding the friends who wandered off47:17 — Bargaining lessons and the $1,250 Honda What’s one game or movie you loved growing up that still holds up—and one you wish you’d left in your memories? 8:16 PM -
Midtown Haze: Clear Head, Chill Body & Patrick Swayze 20.10.2026 28mSome strains get you talking. Midtown Haze apparently gets us building a whole Patrick Swayze cinematic universe before we’ve even finished the introduction. Welcome to Cannabis School. This week, we’re firing up the Volcano and spending some quality time with Midtown Haze. Big, squishy buds, citrus on the first pull, and woody, earthy aromas have our attention—but how does it actually feel? For us, this session brings a clearheaded, chatty high with a surprisingly relaxed body. We talk through those effects as they settle in, compare the experience with our expectations of a sativa-leaning hybrid, and get into why knowing your own preferences matters more than chasing a label.Along the way, we’re sticking our noses in the grinder, talking flower storage, and appreciating good cannabis the same way you’d appreciate good food. Then we somehow end up on frozen pizza, ketchup sandwiches, learning languages, and somebody’s dad getting into glassblowing. It’s that kind of episode. In this episode:Our Midtown Haze aroma, flavor, and effects review. Why we smell flower before and after grinding.Citrus, pine, incense, and earthy notes—and what we actually pick up.Our Volcano session and some vaporizer talk.Personal terpene preferences and the limits of strain labels.Creative curiosity, relaxed conversation, and the usual questionable tangents.Chapters00:00 — Welcome to Cannabis School00:31 — Meet Midtown Haze—and cue the Swayze tangent03:48 — Genetics discussion and first impressions05:51 — Volcano session and vaporizer talk07:38 — The grinder sniff test and flower storage10:58 — Flavor notes and how the high is settling in12:18 — Personal experiences with crossfading and medications14:31 — Terpene preferences and appreciating the aroma17:07 — Chatty, focused, and feeling relaxed18:38 — Body effects and individual preferences19:40 — Frozen pizza and childhood sandwiches22:50 — Learning languages, new hobbies, and creative rabbit holes27:39 — Final thoughts and Patreon love Have you tried Midtown Haze? Does Cannabis Give You Superpowers? 13.10.2026 1h 2mEver feel like a few puffs turned you into a creative genius… then one more bowl sent you straight into “oh shit” territory? Yeah. We’ve been there. This week on Cannabis School, Jesse and Brandon explore those moments when cannabis makes you feel more focused, more present, and a little more like the superhero in your own movie. Jesse’s Tropicana Cherries story kicks things off with a twelve-page writing sprint—and a second bowl that took the experience in a very different direction. From there, we get into creativity, quieting the mental chaos, letting go of other people’s judgments, and finding joy without turning every damn hobby into work. There’s a giant bowl of Froot Loops analogy, a Ted Lasso moment, and enough gaming tangents to keep things interesting. The question underneath it all: does cannabis give us superpowers, or do we sometimes feel like we’re finally getting out of our own way?In this episode:Feeling locked in versus getting way too highCreativity, connection, and being presentJesse’s take on slowing down a brain full of ideasEgo, self-judgment, and learning without getting defensiveFinding joy in books, games, and everyday momentsPersonal experiences with strains, terpene profiles, and dry herb vaporizersChapters00:00 — Tropicana Cherries: superhero mode meets “oh shit”05:48 — Does cannabis actually give you superpowers?08:53 — Family conversations and cannabis stigma13:58 — Mental chaos, Froot Loops, and Quicksilver17:41 — Getting out of your head and into your life21:08 — Finding joy beyond money and possessions25:33 — Jesse’s experiences with terpenes and setting27:31 — Confidence, creativity, and needing approval31:41 — Hobbies, gaming, and letting fun stay fun35:16 — Judgment, Ted Lasso, and letting things go39:22 — Learning from others without an ego battle43:54 — Reflection, kindness, and everyday connection46:48 — Parenting, screens, and personal responsibility51:46 — A delivery disaster and accepting what you can’t control54:56 — Strain labels, personal preferences, and dosing58:39 — Dry herb vaporizers and the people around you Keep the conversation going: Have you ever had a cannabis experience that made you feel like a superhero—or humbled you real quick? You F*cked Up. You’re Still Allowed to Grow. Other options with your to 08.10.2026 55mWe missed a week, came back, and apparently had some shit to work through. This sesh starts with Mormon cartoons and whether carrying gold plates into battle requires superhero strength. Somehow, we end up talking about faith, family, forgiveness, and the stories we keep telling ourselves about who we are. GMO Cookies may have helped with the detours. We get personal about growing up in very different households, finding community without agreeing on everything, and learning to look back at our mistakes without turning every memory into another reason to beat ourselves up. You fucked up. What have you learned? Who have you become since then? Then we get into relationships, misunderstandings, and the difference between feeling angry and using that anger to hurt someone. There are some heavy moments in this one, along with plenty of us being us.And just when things need a little breathing room, Jesse shares how “making new connections” became “naked connections” in a professional text. Autocorrect really said, let’s see where this goes.In this sesh:Growing up with Living Scriptures and very specific Sunday entertainment.Family stories, alcohol, and the things we were taught to believe.Faith, church culture, and making room for people who think differently.Taking responsibility while giving yourself room to grow. How labels and assumptions get in the way of connection.Listening to your partner instead of preparing your rebuttal.Feeling your emotions without taking them out on someone else.An unfortunate text, a hard-earned racing win, and the power of a simple thank-you.Chapters00:15 — We’re back, and straight into Mormon cartoons03:03 — Patience before you could text everyone04:14 — Family stories, Mexico, and two very different grandmas09:01 — Growing up around alcohol—or without it11:38 — Faith, church culture, and community14:21 — Connection, conversations, and looking past labels16:30 — Dating, pickup artists, and manipulation18:18 — Religion and what community means to us21:14 — Forgiving yourself and recognizing your growth28:34 — Do we want understanding, or do we want to be right?31:09 — Identity, labels, and different paths34:53 — Childhood hurt and showing up in relationships38:06 — When an invitation gets lost in translation40:12 — Ownership, reactions, and listening42:07 — Trauma, abuse, and difficult personal stories45:54 — Being angry without being hurtful48:50 — “Naked connections”: autocorrect strikes again50:41 — A little kindness at the checkout52:34 — Finally winning that damn race53:58 — Starting over and saying thank you What’s something you handle better now than you did five years ago? Cannabis 101: Why the Hell Is My Heart Racing? 06.10.2026 44mYou wanted to chill. Your heart apparently signed up for cardio. This week on Cannabis School, we’re talking about that uncomfortable moment when your heart starts pounding, you notice every damn beat, and suddenly your smartwatch has your undivided attention.Jesse and Brandon share their own experiences with racing hearts, anxious highs, and familiar products that suddenly felt very different. We talk dose, tolerance, mindset, and the questions we sometimes forget to ask ourselves before a session: Did I sleep? Have I eaten? Am I already stressed? How much caffeine did I just put in my body?We also revisit Jesse’s Banana Kush experience, discuss why we keep coming back to flower, and explain why being the experienced cannabis friend comes with some responsibility. Your buddy’s first session is not an audition for the Cannabis Olympics.Expect honest conversation, questionable analogies, a few Jedi references, and a reminder that “just chill the fuck out” isn’t exactly top-tier emotional support. In this episode:Racing hearts and the anxiety loop of noticing every heartbeat. Why the same strain doesn’t always feel the same. Our experiences with edibles, carts, flower, and changing tolerance.Looking beyond the biggest THC number on the shelf.Set and setting beyond candles and a little patchouli.Supporting a friend who’s having an uncomfortable experience.Talking with your pharmacist about medications—your physicist has other things going on.Chapters00:31 — Why does my heart feel like that?01:30 — When a favorite cart stops feeling familiar02:47 — Checking in: sleep, food, water, and caffeine04:59 — THC, heart rate, and the nervous system conversation05:50 — Set, setting, and edible experiences07:19 — Moving past the highest THC percentage08:46 — The racing-heart anxiety loop11:04 — An anxious moment while playing Diablo13:29 — Why we keep coming back to flower and vaporizers15:03 — Revisiting Banana Kush and an overwhelming high17:09 — Joints, coughing, and the ritual of smoking22:12 — Feeling panicked versus looking panicked25:25 — Medications: call your pharmacist27:17 — Cannabis Jedi and looking out for beginners28:09 — Personal calming rituals and breathing discussion32:34 — The inevitable movie tangent34:24 — Revisiting dose and consumption methods40:15 — Tolerance and recognizing your own reactions42:42 — Knowing yourself and showing compassion Ever had your usual strain suddenly hit different? Nuclear Muffins: Big Name, Chill Vibes 29.09.2026 22mNuclear Muffins sounds like it should launch you into another dimension. This batch? More like a weighted blanket for your brain. This week on Cannabis School, Jesse and Brandon dig into a strain that sneaks up slowly and gets the conversation rolling. We’re talking light, fruity flavor, squishy buds, and a high we found calm, clear, and surprisingly suited to getting creative. The number on this bag wasn’t huge—but we had plenty to say about the experience. We also get into why we keep coming back to flower, our ongoing love affair with dry herb vaporizers, and how our early ideas about cannabis changed once we actually experienced it. Naturally, there’s a gravity bong story. Because apparently we can’t just review a strain and behave. In this episode:Nuclear Muffins’ slow build and our firsthand impressions. Why the THC percentage doesn’t tell us everything we want to know.THCA labels, minor cannabinoids, and the entourage effect conversation.Flower versus carts—and how our preferences have changed.Vaporizer temperatures, session length, and differences between devices.Unlearning cannabis stigma, one conversation at a time.Chapters00:00 — Welcome to Cannabis School00:27 — Vaporizer love and the borrowed VENTY01:32 — Meet Nuclear Muffins03:00 — THCA labels, THC numbers, and genetics04:34 — First impressions and vaporizer temperatures06:18 — Minor cannabinoids, flower, and carts08:11 — Unlearning the cannabis stigma09:00 — A weighted blanket for your brain11:23 — Confidence, first experiences, and changing perceptions13:22 — Gravity bongs and a party story16:15 — Back to vaporizers and getting more from flower19:25 — Fruity flavor, slow onset, and session differences20:40 — Comparing batches and wrapping up Tried Nuclear Muffins? Sesh | GMO Cookies & Getting Out of Your Own Damn Way 24.09.2026 48mBirthday brisket, busted controllers, and Batman needing a day job. Yep, it’s that kind of sesh. This week, we’re hanging out with Nuclear Muffin and GMO Cookies, bouncing from pool-party chaos and a rainy motorcycle ride into a surprisingly real conversation: why the hell are we all in such a hurry to be first?First in traffic. First to talk. First to prove we’re right. Somewhere between the shit-talking and the side quests, we get into actually listening, looking past people’s job titles, and learning to pause before losing our shit over spilled milk. Literally.Pull up a chair. There are tangents, laughs, and a few things you might still be thinking about after the sesh.In this sesh:00:15 — Birthday chaos, brisket, and “don’t break my fucking controller”05:18 — Controller repairs and a motorcycle ride with terrible timing08:12 — Gran Turismo turns into a whole life analogy10:31 — Interruptions, automatic apologies, and changing how we respond17:16 — Networking origin stories and Batman clocking in for benefits18:38 — Everybody wants to be first. Ocimene: Land of the Terps 22.09.2026 25mYou’ve probably seen ocimene on a label and moved right past it. What the hell is it, and what does it bring to your flower? This week, we’re getting into another terp, talking through ocimene’s woody, sweet, herbal notes and why plants produce these compounds in the first place. Because apparently plants have a whole lot of shit going on, and making your weed smell good is only part of this conversation.Of course, we take a few turns along the way. We’re comparing grinders, talking about our very different experiences with flower and carts, and sharing those moments when getting elevated turns into being way too focused on one sensation. We also question some of the claims attached to ocimene—because seeing “uplifting” next to a terpene doesn’t tell you how that whole strain is going to feel. The conversation keeps coming back to knowing what you’re consuming. Look past the strain name, check the terpene profile, and pay attention to your own experience. There’s a lot more to your flower than the THC number on the front. In this episode:00:24 — Getting familiar with ocimene and where we’ve noticed it01:40 — Woody, sweet, floral: talking aroma and terpene families02:42 — Cis, trans, and questions we still have about the chemistry03:38 — Herbs, fruit, and why plants produce terpenes05:40 — Plant defenses and calling in backup against pests07:05 — Decongestant claims and our personal experiences with congestion09:06 — Grinders, flower mills, kief, and the quality of your grind12:02 — Comparing our experiences with THC, flower, and distillate carts14:50 — Cartridge dosing and checking the certificate of analysis (COA)16:50 — Intentional consumption and the stoner stereotype21:12 — Does “uplifting” tell the whole story?22:37 — Mixing strains—and somehow, ketchup on mac and cheese23:54 — Looking beyond strain names to what’s actually in the flowerHave you noticed ocimene in any of your favorite strains? Red Eyes, Dry Mouth & the Munchies | Cannabis 101 17.09.2026 35mWelcome back, kids. Your eyes are red, your mouth is dry, and suddenly that cheesecake you don’t even like sounds pretty fucking good. What’s up with that? This week, we’re getting into three cannabis experiences most of us know a little too well: red eyes, cottonmouth, and wanting to eat everything in sight. We talk about THC, CB1 receptors, and what might be going on behind those familiar feelings—with a few personal stories and the occasional tangent. Because of course there are tangents. We’re also comparing our experiences with flower, carts, and edibles, talking about snacks that actually leave us satisfied, and getting into why “sativa for the day, indica for the night” doesn’t tell the whole story. Pay attention to your own experience, guys. Somebody else loving a strain doesn’t mean it’s going to hit you the same way.In this episode:00:15 — Red eyes, dry mouth, and eating everything in sight01:29 — What’s happening when your eyes get red?07:21 — Cottonmouth and the conversation around CB1 receptors10:49 — Our dry-mouth experiences with edibles, carts, and flower14:48 — Am I hungry, or do Doritos just sound amazing?17:48 — Munchie food that doesn’t leave us feeling like shit25:44 — Moving beyond indica and sativa labels30:02 — Potential effects, personal experiences, and cannabis assumptions31:14 — Getting more intentional about what you’re buying35:16 — Your questions and what’s coming nextWhat gives you the worst cottonmouth? Velvet Spritz: Calm, Focused, and Ready to Get Sh*t Done 15.09.2026 31mWhat’s in the bag today? Velvet Spritz—with a Z—from Grassroots. This indica-leaning hybrid crosses Romulan Grapefruit with Kush Mints. The flower came as smaller popcorn buds and was a little dry, but it still had some give and smoked surprisingly well. Its aroma starts subtly sweet before becoming much more earthy, musky, and slightly piney in the vaporizer. If you’re expecting a mouthful of grapefruit candy, calm down. That isn’t what we found in this batch. The dominant terpenes include beta-caryophyllene, alpha-pinene, myrcene, limonene, and beta-pinene. Together, they produced an unusual combination of calm and focus. Velvet Spritz didn’t make us sleepy or completely relax the body. Instead, it quieted some of the mental noise and made it easier to stay present with whatever we were doing. We get into:Velvet Spritz’s Romulan Grapefruit × Kush Mints lineageWhy packaging can make or break otherwise good flowerSweet grapefruit expectations versus its earthy, musky realityReading terpene results when the label is organized like complete bullshitGradually increasing vaporizer temperaturesWhy the same flower can feel different in a joint and vaporizerCleaning your glass before the bong water develops its own ecosystemWhether juice belongs in a bong—and why we’re skepticalUsing Velvet Spritz for yard work, reading, or focused activitiesThe calm, happy feeling without becoming overly dopeyWhy alpha-pinene may feel tense or stimulating for some consumersCombining strains to shape the experienceCannabis as an amplifier of your mindset and environmentLongboards, motorcycles, handmade teapots, and the usual side questsOur verdict: Velvet Spritz is a solid daytime strain for somebody looking to calm the squirrels without putting them to sleep. It felt focused, thoughtful, and pleasantly elevated, although the pinene created some head and neck tension for us. In a joint, that tension was less noticeable and the overall experience felt better. This may also be a useful base strain to combine with something more physically relaxing. As always, start low, pay attention to your own response, and don’t assume our experience will automatically be yours. If you’ve tried Velvet Spritz, let us know what you thought. Linalool: More Than the “Sleepy Lavender” Terpene 10.09.2026 19mToday we’re landing in the terps and breaking down linalool, that sweet, floral, slightly spicy terpene most commonly associated with lavender. For years, we thought lavender meant one thing: somebody was trying to put us to sleep. But linalool is more complicated than that. Finding it in a strain doesn’t automatically mean you’ll be unconscious ten minutes later. Its concentration, the other terpenes and cannabinoids surrounding it, the dose, and how you consume the product all help shape the final experience. We get into:What linalool smells and tastes likePlants containing linalool beyond lavenderWhy linalool may feel calming without necessarily being sedatingRelaxation, anxious feelings, and the experiences commonly associated with itWhy a terpene never works completely by itselfThe entourage effect and the importance of the full chemical profileCannabis derived versus botanically derived terpenesWhy the same molecule can behave differently within a larger formulationHow growing conditions can change terpene percentages between batchesReading a product’s certificate of analysis instead of trusting the strain nameWhy THC percentage doesn’t tell you whether you’ll enjoy the experienceFlower, dry-herb vaporizers, carts, edibles, and how consumption changes thingsWhy you need to stop destroying your carts with blinkersLooking for the experience you want instead of simply chasing the highest numberThe big takeaway: look to the terps. You don’t need to memorize every molecule or become the asshole at the dispensary trying to prove how smart they are about weed. Learn enough to ask better questions. Look at the linalool, check what accompanies it, pay attention to the cannabinoids, and notice how your body responds.Next time you find a linalool-heavy strain, crack it open and see whether you can identify those floral, sweet, woody, or spicy notes. Then consume low and slow and find out what linalool actually does for you.For adults of legal age only. This episode is educational and reflects our personal experiences, not medical advice. Papa Burger: Sticky, Funky, and Strong as Hell 08.09.2026 34mPapa Burger from Dragonfly came in swinging. This flower is soft, sticky, and squishy enough to gum up your grinder, with a smell that starts funky and savory before opening into something sweeter, creamier, and more tropical. At 27.5% THC—with 1% CBG and 0.5% CBC—this is not a strain we’d tell newer consumers to attack like heroes. Go low and slow. For experienced consumers, though, Papa Burger delivers a calm, euphoric experience without completely stealing your focus. It feels heavy enough for relaxing, stretching, post-workout recovery, or winding down, while still leaving some creativity and awareness intact. We also get into:Papa Burger’s Donny Burger × Papaya/Modified Bananas lineageIts funky, gassy, creamy, and tropical profileWhy sticky flower can preserve more of the experience you’re looking forLimonene, beta-caryophyllene, and the entourage effectUsing temperature-controlled dry-herb vaporizersWhy different consumption methods fit different people and situationsFlower versus carts, distillates, concentrates, and isolatesHow overheating can ruin a cart—and why you don’t need to hit that damn blinkerStorage, shelf life, and getting the most from your cannabisWhy asking your budtender about terpenes can help you shop smarterOur verdict: Papa Burger is absolutely worth trying. Just respect the potency, pay attention to how it makes you feel, and don’t let somebody else’s opinion keep you from exploring a new grower.Have you tried Papa Burger? Perception, Intention, and Knowing When to Detach 03.09.2026 44mThis sesh starts with dispensaries, sticky flower, budtenders, and our plans for Cannabis School........and somehow ends with us examining our emotional baggage. You know, the usual. We talk about why cannabis is better as a shared experience, the difference between reacting and responding, and what happens when your intentions collide with somebody else’s perception. Sometimes the person in front of you isn’t the enemy. Sometimes you need to back the fuck up, look at the whole situation, and get curious about what is actually happening. We also get into:The good, bad, and frustrating parts of Utah dispensariesWhy knowledgeable budtenders make such a differenceSupporting more strain and product reviews through PatreonThe upcoming Cannabis School courses and student experienceOur completely necessary “Brandon the Medicine Man” gameCannabis as a tool for slowing down and becoming more presentMental-health medication, side effects, and our personal experiencesSleep, food, routines, therapy, and building better habitsUsing “detach” as a safe word when an argument gets heatedThe gap between perception and intentionLooking at yourself objectively without turning reflection into shameCarrying old trauma into new relationshipsNeil Strauss, The Truth, and the three-second ruleWhy curiosity can teach you more than judgment ever willThe big takeaway: you are the common factor everywhere you go. When something triggers a reaction, pause before deciding who is right or wrong. Step outside yourself, look at the situation from a wider perspective, and ask why you responded that way. You may not like every answer—but at least now you can do something with it.Thank you to everyone supporting Cannabis School on Patreon. Blue Lobster Strain Review: Our Favorite Hybrid of 2026? 01.09.2026 23mWelcome back to Cannabis School! Today, Brandon and Jesse review Blue Lobster by Grassroots, an indica-leaning hybrid currently swimming around Utah’s medical cannabis market.A member of the Cannabis School community helped make this review possible, so thank you for supporting the show and giving us another strain to break down!Blue Lobster crosses Apples and Bananas with Eye Candy. The batch reviewed comes in around 23% THC, along with minor cannabinoids including CBGA, CBCA, THCV, and CBDA. Once again, it proves that THC percentage is only one small piece of the experience. The container may feel cheap, but the flower inside tells a different story. These popcorn buds are small, dense, squishy, and surprisingly fresh. The aroma and flavor bring sweet fruit, citrus, earth, musk, and a little gas without becoming overly sharp or peppery. The experience is where Blue Lobster really earns its claws. This strain feels calm, euphoric, social, and incredibly present. It quiets the unnecessary noise without completely shutting down the mind. Instead of sending thoughts in every direction, Blue Lobster makes it easier to stay immersed in the conversation or activity directly in front of you.Physically, the body feels relaxed without becoming useless. Both hosts report a major reduction in their usual discomfort during the session, along with very little fidgeting. It may become sleepier with a larger amount, but at a moderate dose it feels surprisingly versatile.Morning, afternoon, conversation, gaming, relaxing, or winding down—this may be an anytime strain for the right consumer. Just remember: the more you consume, the more likely you are to catch what the guys lovingly call “the happy dumbs.”The commonly reported terpene profile includes myrcene, limonene, beta-caryophyllene, and linalool. In this batch, the earthy relaxation and citrus brightness work together beautifully. It settles the body without making the entire room feel dark. The final verdict? Blue Lobster is Brandon’s favorite hybrid of 2026 so far. Grassroots has not always been the first brand the guys reach for, but this strain was a genuine surprise—and proof that a discounted bag of popcorn flower can deliver a better experience than products chasing the highest THC number. In this episode:• Reviewing Grassroots Blue Lobster in Utah• Apples and Bananas × Eye Candy genetics• Dense popcorn buds and questionable packaging• THC versus the complete cannabinoid profile• Myrcene, limonene, caryophyllene, and linalool• Sweet fruit, citrus, earth, and light gas• Calm, euphoric, social, and focused effects• Physical relaxation without immediate couchlock• Why higher THC does not guarantee a better experience• Finding quality cannabis on sale• Utah’s broader cannabinoid profiles• Water filters, missing disc-golf equipment, and other detours• A free Cannabis School strain-labeling toolFind everything in one place here:👉 https://cannabisschool.org/products -
Land of the Terps: What Is Nerolidol? 27.08.2026 29mWelcome to the Land of the Terps! Cannabis School 101 is officially back, and this time Brandon and Jesse are going deeper than the usual THC percentage and strain name.Today’s lesson focuses on nerolidol, a minor terpene found in cannabis and aromatic plants such as jasmine, lemongrass, tea tree, ginger, and orange blossom. It is not usually one of the largest numbers on a cannabis label, but that does not mean it should be ignored.Nerolidol has a subtle aroma commonly described as woody, floral, green, earthy, and slightly sweet—almost like fresh bark. It exists in cis and trans forms and belongs to a class of compounds called sesquiterpenes. Why do plants produce terpenes in the first place? They were not created for humans to enjoy. Terpenes help plants communicate, defend themselves, discourage certain insects, attract beneficial organisms, and interact with the environment around them. The guys use an entourage analogy to explain why isolated compounds cannot always predict a complete cannabis experience. One person can accomplish something alone, but the right team working together may create something entirely different. Cannabis is similar: cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, dose, and personal biology all contribute to the final experience.Research has investigated nerolidol for insect-related plant defense, skin penetration, and possible calming or sedating properties. That does not make it a proven treatment, but it does make this minor terpene worth watching as cannabis research develops.Brandon and Jesse explore nerolidol while vaporizing Blue Lobster, a strain in which it may appear alongside more familiar terpenes such as myrcene, limonene, beta-caryophyllene, and linalool. Blue Lobster’s calm, relaxed experience gives the guys a real-world starting point for discussing how a minor terpene may fit into a much larger chemical profile. The conversation also covers vaporizer temperatures, cannabis aroma, topical products, fast-acting edibles, dosing mistakes, CBD and CBG flower, and why beginners should never assume a product is mild based only on its size. The homework is simple: stop shopping by THC percentage alone. Ask for the certificate of analysis, examine more than the top three terpenes, and begin noticing which combinations consistently work well for you.In this episode:• What terpenes do inside plants• What nerolidol is and how to pronounce it• Cis-nerolidol versus trans-nerolidol• Woody, floral, earthy, and fresh-bark aromas• Nerolidol in jasmine, ginger, tea tree, and citrus• Plant defense and chemical signaling• Monoterpenes versus sesquiterpenes• The cannabis entourage-effect theory• Why minor terpenes still matter• Blue Lobster and its terpene profile• Research into skin penetration and topical formulations• Vaporizer temperature and aroma• Fast-acting versus traditional edibles• Why accurate edible dosing matters• CBD and CBG flower for lower-tolerance consumers• Reading a cannabis certificate of analysisLand of the Terps: What Is Nerolidol?Find everything in one place here:👉 https://cannabisschool.org/products -
Cheeee of Bandits Strain Review: Sweet, Spicy & Seriously Weird 25.08.2026 31mWelcome back to Cannabis School! Today, Brandon and Jesse review Cheee of Bandits by Pure Plan, a mysterious Utah cannabis strain with an unusual name and an experience that is even harder to explain.Despite what the name suggests, this flower does not arrive with an overwhelming cheese aroma. Instead, it produces a surprisingly sweet smell that becomes even more impressive as the vaporizer begins warming. The first taste reminds the guys of stevia: undeniably sweet, slightly strange, and difficult to place. The flower reviewed contains roughly 20% THC, along with minor cannabinoids including CBC and CBG. Its labeled terpene profile includes beta-caryophyllene, limonene, linalool, myrcene, and humulene. Together, they create a sweet, peppery flavor that eventually develops a gentle “sweet heat” across the tongue and throat. The initial experience is bright, floaty, giggly, and physically relaxing. Colors seem more vibrant, the arms feel lighter, and Brandon notices that his sore shoulder is no longer demanding as much attention. As the session continues, however, Cheee of Bandits becomes more complicated. The bright beginning transitions into a strongly head-focused experience, with warmth and pressure around the top of the head. Brandon and Jesse also notice tension around the neck and jaw. It remains entertaining and silly, but neither host can identify a clear activity or purpose for it.Would it be good for watching a ridiculous movie and making your own commentary? Absolutely.Would we choose it for work, exercise, or focused creativity? Probably not.The guys experiment by adding GMO Cookies, hoping its relaxed euphoria will balance the experience. Unfortunately, the combination creates more jaw tension and proves that even two enjoyable strains can make a questionable team. The final verdict? Cheee of Bandits is not necessarily bad—it is just weird. Its aroma is incredible, the sweet-and-spicy flavor is memorable, and the opening effects are genuinely fun. The later head pressure makes it harder to recommend as an everyday strain, but curious sativa fans may enjoy trying something that does not feel like everything else on the shelf.Buying it on sale makes sense. Mixing it with GMO did not.In this episode:• Reviewing Cheee of Bandits by Pure Plan• A mysterious Utah cannabis strain• Approximately 20% THC with CBC and CBG• Caryophyllene, limonene, linalool, myrcene, and humulene• A sweet aroma that resembles stevia• Peppery flavor and gentle sweet heat• Bright, floaty, and giggly opening effects• Head pressure, neck sensations, and jaw tension• Using low heat to explore cannabis aroma• Why it may work for movies and social laughter• Mixing Cheee of Bandits with GMO Cookies• Why some cannabis combinations do not work• The need for better strain information in Utah• Pure Plan, Dragonfly, Betty, and Brand ZeroFind everything in one place here:👉 https://cannabisschool.org/products -
The $88 mistake 20.08.2026 32mWelcome back to Cannabis School! This week’s Sesh begins with a simple idea that opens the door to a much bigger conversation: people are people, and life may be better when we stop treating every issue like a team sport.Brandon and Jesse explore the labels we place on ourselves and others. A label may help explain part of your experience, but it can also become a box—a reason to believe you cannot grow beyond certain limits. The guys discuss ADHD, identity, self-awareness, and the difference between understanding yourself and using a diagnosis as an excuse. That leads into storytelling, audiobooks, and why reading with emotion can transform words on a page into something alive. Naturally, the conversation takes a quick trip through Dune, video games, and questionable websites before landing on the evening’s most expensive lesson. After consuming cannabis, one of the guys gets pulled into a shopping app designed to turn purchasing into a game. A few confusing taps later, an unexpected $88 charge appears. The order gets canceled, but the mistake creates something more valuable: an opportunity for calm, honest communication between partners.Instead of becoming defensive, they slow down, clarify what happened, and make room for frustration without turning it into a fight. Sometimes “I’m fine” does not mean everything is fine—and asking one more thoughtful question can change the entire conversation. From there, the Sesh moves into how other people experience us, releasing old resentment, expressing emotion through art, and learning to observe our behavior before reacting. The guys also examine modern consumerism, smartphones, digital addiction, impulse purchases, and the strange tradeoffs that come with having nearly everything available through one screen.Of course, no Sesh stays completely serious. Expect detours into Nokia brick phones, sending 46,000 text messages in one month, Nintendo, PlayStation, GameStop, motorcycle helmets, Dune: Awakening, and the usual Cannabis School nonsense. This episode is about becoming more present: with your money, your relationships, your technology, and yourself. In this episode:• People, politics, and the problem with picking teams• When personal labels become limiting beliefs• ADHD, identity, and self-awareness• Reading with emotion and telling better stories• Cannabis and an accidental online purchase• Communicating without becoming defensive• Why “I’m fine” may deserve another question• How other people experience us• Releasing old resentment and changing your perspective• Creativity as an expression of emotion• Smartphones, consumerism, and digital addiction• Buying games versus actually playing them• Nintendo, PlayStation, and GameStop• Being more intentional with money and technologyFind everything in one place here:👉 https://cannabisschool.org -
GMO Cookies Strain Review: Garlic, Gas & a Perfectly Chill High 18.08.2026 28mWelcome back to Cannabis School! Today, Brandon and Jesse revisit one of their longtime favorites: GMO Cookies, also known as GMO or Garlic Cookies.Created from Girl Scout Cookies and Chemdog genetics, GMO has become a building block for countless modern cannabis crosses. There is a reason it keeps returning to the rotation: the flavor is unmistakable, the experience is reliable, and even after trying hundreds of products, it still holds a place among the guys’ favorite strains.GMO delivers one of those flavor profiles that sounds terrible on paper but somehow works beautifully in cannabis. Expect garlic, diesel, onion, earth, pepper, skunk, and something slightly fermented. It is dark, savory, and funky without leaving you feeling like you ate an entire clove of garlic. The experience begins with a pleasant, head-forward brightness before the relaxing side starts moving in. It feels euphoric, social, and calming without immediately shutting everything down. With larger amounts, however, GMO can become much heavier and sleepier. This is commonly a high-THC strain, so new or sensitive consumers should approach it carefully.A small amount may be plenty. You can always consume more, but you cannot un-smoke the bowl.Brandon and Jesse also discuss why GMO works so well in strain combinations, how layering flower and concentrates can create a more consistent experience, and why its savory flavor can enhance a meal. The commonly reported terpene profile includes beta-caryophyllene, limonene, and myrcene, although every grow and batch will be different. The class then moves into joint rolling, flavored papers, avoiding an uneven burn, Utah flower quality, irradiated cannabis, and the difference between dry flower and poorly grown flower. Jesse also introduces his extremely potent homemade “Stargazer Honey,” leading to an important conversation about edible tolerance, careful labeling, safe storage, and knowing your personal dose. The final verdict? GMO remains an old-school favorite with a strange flavor, a bright-but-relaxed experience, and enough potency to remind experienced consumers that a little can still go a long way.In this episode:• GMO Cookies genetics and history• Garlic, diesel, onion, pepper, and earthy flavors• Relaxing, euphoric, and social effects• Why GMO works well in cannabis combinations• Caryophyllene, limonene, and myrcene• Flower, concentrates, and vape formats• Joint-rolling techniques and flavored papers• Avoiding canoeing and improving the burn• Utah cannabis quality and irradiated flower• Vaporizing versus smoking flower• Cannabis tolerance and responsible dosing• Stargazer infused honey and safe storageHave you tried GMO Cookies or a GMO cross? Trauma, Tall Tales & the Deep Diver Combo 13.08.2026 38mWelcome back to Cannabis School! This week’s Sesh begins with Brandon discovering that his mom shared the podcast with someone who recently started working in human resources for a cannabis retailer.Apparently, Cannabis School is becoming an unexpected educational resource—which is exciting and slightly terrifying when you remember how quickly these conversations can leave the classroom.Brandon and Jesse settle into the session with a custom cannabis combination: Novarine by Find Cannabis mixed with Black Triangle. The vapor feels dry on the throat, but the combination produces a strong, relaxing experience that the guys decide to call Deep Diver. The conversation takes a serious turn as Brandon and Jesse discuss trauma, survival responses, personal growth, and the different ways people process difficult experiences. They talk about compassion, observation, professional therapy, and why healing does not follow a universal schedule. From there, the discussion moves into tall tales, invented identities, military stories, and the possibility that some people create elaborate versions of themselves to protect—or escape—the person underneath.Once the Deep Diver combination fully arrives, the Sesh becomes considerably less focused. The guys revisit Robin Williams’ unpredictable comedy, discuss common misconceptions about stimulant drugs, and share cautionary stories about past substance use and poor decisions.Jesse recalls an early-2000s experience involving friends, an old manual Honda Civic, one enormous mistake, and a very close encounter with a fire hydrant. It is a funny story in hindsight, but also a clear example of how quickly impaired decisions can become dangerous. This is a classic Cannabis School Sesh: thoughtful, personal, funny, occasionally uncomfortable, and intended for mature audiences. In this episode:• Brandon’s mom shares Cannabis School• Cannabis education in an unexpected workplace• Trauma, survival responses, and healing• EMDR and professional mental-health support• Tall tales and invented identities• Mixing Novarine with Black Triangle• The Deep Diver cannabis combination• Remembering Robin Williams• Misconceptions about stimulant drugs• Jesse’s cautionary stories about past substance use• An old Honda Civic and a very close call• Why the Storz & Bickel Volcano remains a show favorite Chapters:00:16 Brandon’s mom shares Cannabis School02:00 A serious conversation about trauma05:25 Different responses to difficult experiences09:37 Healing does not follow a schedule10:18 EMDR and processing the past11:18 Tall tales and invented identities20:15 Novarine mixed with Black Triangle20:48 The Deep Diver combination arrives21:21 Remembering Robin Williams23:40 Comedy and substance-use stories26:18 Clearing up stimulant misconceptions28:04 Jesse’s early-2000s story31:39 The runaway Honda Civic33:14 A close call with the parents38:04 The Storz & Bickel Volcano This episode contains mature discussions about trauma and past substance use.
