The station is a revival of the original Swinging Radio England, a top 40 offshore commercial station that operated from May to November 1966 from a ship in the North Sea. It was billed as the \"World\'s Most Powerful\" radio station of its time, with its operation taking place within the law. The station\'s offices were in the West End of London, and it was represented by a company that represented in Europe the ABC radio and television stations of the United States.
